- EMF equation of dc generator is derives with animation in this video. EMF equation of dc generator is explained using animations same as used in working of dc generator. The initial section of the emf equation of dc generator is briefing the notations used in equations. The next section start with faradays law of electromagnetic induction. This law is the fundamental law for induced emf in any conductor. The next section for deriving emf equation of dc generator is to get total flux link with a conductor in one rotation. The section is to find the time take by conductor for one revolution to derive emf equation of dc generator. We got the values and placed in one equation to get final emf equation of dc generator.

I presume the law used is faraday's law...why is the emf emf for conductor and not one loop ( turn)?
Yes it's Faraday law
Because one loop or turn in armature contains two conductor. So calculation is done on basis of one conductor and then apply on all

Excitation voltage that we give is dc
Generated emf in conductor is ac but using commutator we are converting it to dc
