Her being blind really caught me off guard!! She didn’t seem like she was blind at all.❤❤
Me too. Sometimes our pet's behavior has an underlying physical issue. I remember one of our dogs (now deceased) who had trouble getting the treats I threw at him. I thought he either did not like it or must be stupid not seeing it (yeah, bad of me to think of him this way). Then I realized he had trouble seeing the treats when I noticed his eyes (cataracts were creeping in) because he was getting old. His sense of smell was also starting to go away. I guess, I was the stupid one.
I immediately thought she might be blind by some of her behaviors. I really do not like backyard breeders
she "goes full out" with everything, so it a surprise for everyone !LOL

@@pyro226 I missed or misread it, but what I found watching it again is 0:44. She did an extra jump at the end of the stairs. I found it funny watching the first time and mistook it for sillyness/joy. But she (probably) didn't know that there wasn't another step.
Blown away by the casual reference of blindness. Watched the vid again and it all made sense the additional attempt for stairs, running towards your voice. Wow. Match made in Heaven. How she never led much on that she was blind shows how fiercely she loved life with you. ❤❤😊

Yes, and MOST IMPORTANTLY IS "THE TRUST" Garbanzo had for her Mama as he ran upstairs when he got to the landing he did a lil shuffle!!!

Yes i agree about the person reporting on this monster, i have always said i do not care what you are doing especially in your lives, i am not the type of person that goes round reporting people on every single thing they do
eg benefit fraud, domestic disputes, breaking covid rules, whatever, but when it comes to anything to do with animals, i would dob in my best friend, a family member, whoever it was, zero tolerance for it, they are my world, my passion in life!
That is after i had got to them first of course, cannot, wont control my temper either on the subject, doubt will ever change!!

Based on her past, initially, her issues were deemed to be neurological until a specialist diagnosed her with blindness
It's difficult to tell!! She can probably see outlines or know that something is there but majority of sight is gone. She obviously doesn't let it get in her way, she's so stinkin' cute!
She's so sweet but l think one reason she likes to be with her mom a lot is because mom gives her a confidence she might not otherwise have due to her disability. It clearly doesn't hold her back from being a great companion.

Well that was an unexpected twist at the end. She doesn't mind she is blind, she is a happy dog, they just get on with life.
Chickpea is gorgeous. Those gnashers, the tongue! Chickpea teminds me of my late black and tan Brussels Griffin. He had wonky gnashers and a tongue that hung out. He would have dentals over the years, and lost more and more teeth until he only had 4 at the back for chewing, so his tongue was out further and further - no teeth to hold it in. He was adorable just like this girl.
Blind or not, she seems like a delightful companion and friend. I am glad you both found each other.

Wow, finding out she's blind after a year must have shocked you. I once had a cat who I didn't know had cancer and the vet told me when he examined him that he's probably been blind for a few weeks. It's shocking because animals adjust so well to their disabilities.

What a sweet girl. She had me at the way she just throws herself in her mama's lap. Really coudn't tell she was blind! My uncle had a blind dog for years and while it was a rambunctious pup, you could tell by the way he was feeling objects with his paws that he was blind. Chickpea just bounces around like a ball. So full of energy and fearless!

Just go and take a look is always me coming home with a new dog. And, now our home has 3 dogs and is full of love of paw prints. I'm very sure it's the same for a lot out there.
She may be "fully" blind but she appears to have really good use of her other senses that let her know where you are, such that she runs and follows you everywhere, even when you are playing and runing away. She's really quite adorable!!!! Lucky you! and her to have found each other.
