- John 5’s amazing performance of the Michael Jackson song "Beat it" at Strange ’80s 2 - A Mental Health Benefit at the Los Angeles historic Fonda Theater on Friday, October 12th, 2018. John can play any style of music. His knowledge is incredible. One of the most versatile guitarist.

I read that John 5 makes it a point to play Motley Crüe solos just like they were originally recorded. And here he's playing, or trying to play, that beat it guitar solo exactly as Eddie Van Halen did on Michael Jackson's recording.
I can't understand why any musician would want to play any solo by any musician note for note, like you're in your bedroom plan to the record. It's someone else's creative output; not theirs.

I have been playing guitar since 1979 and I still cannot do that. I totally admire great guitarists like him.

When I've watched videos of him with other rock stars the way they look at him after he rocks the fuck out of his guitar sez it all really they all are gob smacked with how amazing he is at playing anything

One of the things about John that constantly amazes me is you see a lot of players working their asses off sweating. John's playing is so effortless he looks like he could almost be taking a nap. Dude's talented as heck.
I'm convinced he is a robot, he never makes mistakes and the guitar is like an extra appendage to him.. insanity how accurate and effortless he makes it look.
