I like your way of thinking Troy. That’s a great idea to offset weight and put the silicone inserts in front for a more front biased weight distribution. Good thinking! Love the treal wheels! They look epic on the fusion! 👊🏼😎💯✌🏼
Im still thinking of purchasing one of these, they look awesome and perfect for my Son and I to toy with, at an affordable price. Ill be tuning in for more updates . Great content.
I just ordered the Accent Fusion Black Friday. I’ve come to really like the green silicone inserts. I have a set of soft Hyrax tires , green inserts mounted on a set of black aluminum rims. I just found the vehicle to put them on.
Now this looks like a good insert setup! Having foams in the back will help with the rear sliding out to much side hilling. And the injora will be just right for weight in front. I like it man good approach!💯
I have the green but decided to get the blue because I feel the green should only go on the back of my truck that has a 60-40 weight bias. The greens are pretty soft. Trying to tune these with my rupture and megalithic tires
Im thinking the same thing gonna run greens on all 4 tires a day then gonna leave green on the rear of the truck and blue on the front All though now im thinking it’s easier to get all 4 in blue and just tune them a little more in the back and leave the front as is ditching green altogether?? What rig u have also depends on the weight of the truck
Troy Love this new Redcat truck. I think you bought a set of the green inserts a while back. Have you tried them in back. Would love to see a vid on how they do VS the foam. Keep up the good work.
I typically do 4 holes - but I don't think there is really a "right" answer with this. I have found that drill bits will tear through the tire, but not actually create a clean hole. The hole punch like I was using is super cheap. The other method I have used is a small piece of tubing. 1/8 tubing chucked into a drill will create a nice hole.
@RoadsideRC no they are not . The manual even shows a picture of them.. they only removed the rear. . Front still show inner springs. Maybe redcat has the wrong description?
@axetogrindproductions4153 Ah - I just assumed you were talking about the rear. I actually like the front inners. They seem to do really well. They did change the external springs.
Troy would the Ascent Fusion be better than the Ascent 10? I already have the Ascent 18 and love it. Thanks. And thank you for the always great content! 👍🏻
I love your videos :) I'm torn between the red cat ascent fusion and the vanquish stance or carbon vrd, money is no object here, I need a good performer :) What is your feeling about this ?
Money no object for raw performance, carbon VRD all day. The Stance will perform well, but the carbon kit has a ton of upgraded parts that are worth well over the difference in kit costs. Hobbywing Fusion and a direct power servo, and call it a day
I left it in the factory side-skid location. Used this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B08R72ZF6N/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_gl_i_R44ZME1NXN9R0MR5EWRD?linkCode=ml2&tag=roadsiderc-20
Love the wheel choice looks great. Question on venting the tires I don't vent mine as they see a lot of water and mud do you have trouble with the stock foams breaking down over time being wet.
Foams always break down over time - just a part of the territory. Venting them is what helps allow the water and mud to get out. Otherwise, I find it just stays there. But - if you are successful at keeping them sealed - then more power to you!
Be careful with that thread lock that shit is like cement lol. I liked to never got my skid plate screws off on my redcat 🤬I now use a microscopic amount!
@@RoadsideRC yes sir I used the blue. I forget the brand but what I have is some good stuff! I had to drill out the screws! I tried heat using a heat gun and that didn’t even work!
Definitely looks better, simple and effective, nothing wrong with that, says alot for the truck!!!
Yes! I think so as well.
Thanks for doing this! Seems like a great comp truck right out of the box!
It is surprisingly good - probably too lightweight to be a good snowplow... :)

Awesome! I do agree - a great price for really good performance. Hard to beat this with any current RTR that is available right now.

Sounds like a plan to me!

Thanks! I hope it works well too. I also like the weight balance this way.
I have a big crawling event this weekend - hope to give it a harder test.
I’m getting mine today Thursday 🇬🇧 a week early I think the first one over here as people are put off by the taxes and shipping priceless 😂
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it!

Yes! That is what I ended up doing on my ECTO. Works really well.
I have ordered Treal Beadlocks 2 black and when back in stock 2 blue
Awesome!
Wooo! Those wheels! I got treals on mine, too. Black and red.
Nice! Do you have a video showing it?
@RoadsideRC I will do a short! Thanx for the push!
looks an ideal upgrade mate
*🦘Au🦘💯full view always📺thumbs up👍😎*
Thanks 👍
I just picked up the bronze version of those wheels. They look great!!!
Awesome! I really do like these wheels!

I did test them:

Yes I saw that one, but would love to see them tested in this truck. Just saying.
I just got one today. The tires do seem ok.
They are!
Awesome Vid!
Thanks!
How many holes do you need in a tire? Also would you say the using a drill bit to make the hole would be okay?
I typically do 4 holes - but I don't think there is really a "right" answer with this.

def not the only mod needed. shock inner springs need removed first thing.
They are already removed on the Fusion.

What electric screwdriver are you using there?
Hi there! It is this one: amzn.to/3xaX5hk

I have the Stance sitting in my cart - I just need to click the buy button. Thinking a good head-to-head would be fun.

What electric screw drive is that your useing
Hi! It is this one:
amzn.to/499tdPF
I have been testing it to see how it does. So far- really good!
I'd love one of these but not available in the UK 😭
That really is too bad. Sorry.
@@RoadsideRC no Redcat dealers in the UK
☹️
I got one one the way from redcat but had to pay shipping and taxes on top so was £492 all in
My first expensive crawler I have a WPL C24 NOW and a FMS CRUSHER on the way then I saw the ascent and thought wow got to get one
@@waynoo774 that's a good price
I better save a few more pennies 😁
Where did mount the battery. Also, what size Etc. ?

What's the weight ratio now with the upgrades??
Still 60F/40R
No issues with the silicone insert sealing the vent holes?
Not that I have had. Especially with 4 holes, seems unlikely in my testing so far.
How would you compare it to the Ecto in terms of performance and articulation?
Here you go!

Ha! When I edited that clip...I also had a good chuckle.
What a fluke just recently fitted these wheel sand the Proline Predators on my newly acquired Zuul,
Fun! I bet they look good on there!
Poke holes in the tire lol then dirt and water rots your foam. Yes water comes out of the hole but not all of it due to foam soaking up water.
Has worked for me for years.
