There are four types of yerba mate - Argentinian, Uruguayan, Paraguayan, and Brazilian. Each yerba from these countries have a distinct difference in taste and cut.
Hello, do you have a video on organic Yerba mate suggestions? I drink Yerba mate everyday but figured I should throw in an organic one just in case. Currently drinking Cruz de Malta which is great
There's also roasted mate in Brazil, you drink it like iced tea, in Rio de Janeiro they sell it in the beach, i always did at home like 3 liters and leave it in the fridge, put sugar and lime, lots of ice, perfect for the hot Rio summer.
Usually only brazilians from the south side of the country drink this, it's very spread overthere and barely known to other regions. An acquired taste for sure. Im from the southwest and the only people I know that drink chimarrão here, came from the south. Recently I have been trying to get into yerba so I can stop drinking coffee.
There are millions of Mate lovers in Syria, they brought this treasure back home after migration to Latin America 150 years ago… we have all types of mate except the Brazilian, we drink it with hot water or milk. Peace from my wounded land 🙏
Great videos, greetings from paraguay! Have you tried the yerba "Kurupi: menta y boldo"? Its yerba whit mint , for the terere its mine best recommendation ❤
Hi great videos, how can I make a cup of Yerba mate without spilling water everywhere? I bought a guard & bombilla do I really need to buy a dedicated thermo and thermometer to get the pour stream & temp just right? Is there a cheaper way of entry to this great drink? Thanks 👍 new sub
A thermos is recommended so the water is kept hot throughout the entire mate. Temp is important as you don't want the water to be boiling for taste and health reasons. You can just use any tea kettle if you don't want a thermos.
By using a tea kettle, even in its electric, you can know when the water is ready. There is a pretty distinctive sound, I would describe it as "a gentle but constant knocking in metal", that you can follow to know if its ready, but be careful if it starts to wistle it means that has reached 100° and is too hot.
If you drink terere you don't use the normal yerba for mate, it's disgusting. You should use yerba with mint, I recommend you to try kurupi mint and boldo (I also use it for mate).
@@andrzejroskowicz245 uruguayans consume more per capita. the fact that most of ours lasts longer and we don’t make “lavaditos” and that most of us sane ppl drink it without any sugar is something we (they are proud of). i live and am californian, my parents are from UY. there are only argentine markets here that sell yerba for mate, and we get lucky that a lot of argentines drink Canarias bc that’s Uruguay’s most popular brand. i went to argentina for the first time this year and even in bs. as. they sell that brand, something to be proud of. argentines are proud of their yuyos, uruguayans are proud of their polvito, their ‘montañita’, mate everywhere with a thermos. all that. still got to give credits to brazil bc most brands (including canarias) are made in their lands. but def you should try playadito (argentinian) and canarias and compare the two.
I've never drank this. Was wondering what's a good place to start? I don't usually drink tea , but I do like coffee, not instant, fresh ground with milk & sweetener. What blend is a good one to try first?
Please, don't say "sherba" that's the streotypical accent used only on Buenos Aires (roughly 7% of the entire country), on some areas like Córdoba people with really strong accents usually call it "ierba" It depends, but the accent used in Buenos Aires it's far from being the most used in the country
There’s different notes different types of beer, coffee, whiskey, rum, wine, teas, tobacco, etc. It’s not ridiculous to talk about notes with yerba mate.
Nuts are just seeds, tobacco is dried leaves, dried fruit are ... dried fruit. Why would it be surprising that dry leaves have flavors in common with other dried plant parts?

I m fan of LA MERCED ( campo or campo Sur) made in ARGENTINA
La Merced De Campo is my favorite🧉
👍
Among the hundred of brands to chose from in Argentina, being Taragüi the most sold, my favorite is Amanda on all its varieties.
0:48 Uruguay will also pronouce yerba as sherba.
You must try paraguayan Yerba La Rubia, it's outstanding.
My favorites are Argentina and Brazilian ♥ I usually don't get anything else 😂
Stupid question- I know all of it's from the same plant but still, health wise which of these 4 benefits the most?
Uruguay hace buen mate 🧉🧉🧉
Saludos desde Dallas, TX
I’ve only had Uruguay and Argentina and so far Canarias (Uruguay) is my favorite.
Now drinking my first ever mate, you inspired me to tried via your videos, i wanna ask how can i make the flavour less strong plz❤
Nice! Brew at a cooler water temp (140F). Can also use less yerba
thank you so much brother god bless yaa!@@yerbamatelab

I'm new to yerba mate and i don't know which type i should choose for the beginning can you suggest a specific type or brand?
Argentine yerbas are best for beginners. Try Cruz De Malta
@@yerbamatelab thank
You for the recommendation 🙏
My dad always be hating on mate hes mexican and i drink rosamonte and playsito he says it smells like the stuff they feed horses 😂
Can you make a video on proper care for the gourd? Does the gourd make a difference in flavor?
I've never drank this. Was wondering what's a good place to start? I don't usually drink tea , but I do like coffee, not instant, fresh ground with milk & sweetener. What blend is a good one to try first?
Cruz De Malta is what I recommend for starters
Can you go in depth on non-smoky Brazilian? ❤TY!
so which would be the weakest? as in flavor and caffeine ?
I love Argentinian ones, but every one is good
I started on Playadita which I believe is Argentinian.
Do they all have they same health benefits?
that sounds delicious how do I acquire such items?
I would rather try the Brazilian one because I like the green color.
I read this with an Australian accent, mate. (Only to find it being a video about tea.)
There is also "mate green" which is export only made in Brasil. Despaladas without dust and unaged... not that tasty :P
Goodnight 💤😇
i have roasted yerba mate, what are your thoughts on that? i have it with boiled water and milk... potentially controversial
Canarias which one?
I’ve never had Brazilian style
they also drink mate in southern Chile and eastern Bolivia
aa from rio grande do sul is the best😂
Chimarrão is my favorite
Guys is it safe to buy in his shop?
Yes
What does it taste if you mix them all?
You can't do that. Its dangerous for everyone
The best of Paraguayan's Yerba Mate is that you can make cocido 🥴
This shit is so tasty
Does anyone know about good unsmoked yerba mate

It depends, but the accent used in Buenos Aires it's far from being the most used in the country
it's called the rio platense accent, people in uruguay also speak like this
Uruguay is by far the best
The most traditional yerba is the paraguayan 🇵🇾
Pipore>>>
Dark chocolate and peanut butter? Why didn't you start with that?
1:01 I think I hate this ?
In reality they all taste the same just like grass
🧉
You lost me at grassy taste
If I’m allergic to all types of peanuts, or are there different ones that don’t contain peanuts
Guy is high on chimarrão, there are no peanuts in this. Although it's pretty damn good to drink while eating rapadura (peanut candy)
None of them have peanuts, only they can have a peanut flavor.
@@PedroBorgesNH rapadura is not a peanut candy, its made from sugar cane juice. Peanut Candy is "paçoca" or "pé-de-moleque".
bruh, where u pullin' all these "notes" from 💀 we're literally drinking soaked leaves.
True, but you can say same about normal tea xD And I must say its true, the mate i bought tastes like lemon and other nice fresh things ❤

PLAYADITO
The Brazilian one is by far the worst
smoked can cause cancer
dumb take
what
what really can increase the chance of cancer is to drink it with boiling water, it should be HOT and not boilling water
Only 4? 😂
Yeah ok
Since when is such a thing drinking mate😂😂
