  • The Logrite hookaroon showed its worth in this episode. We also use Dad's John Deere 4052M and my Stihl MS260 PRO to drop trees and cut firewood.

    The 4052 looks a little light in the rear... if you haven't done it already, get those rear tires loaded with RimGard (beet juice)... that stuff weighs something like 10 lbs per gallon... makes a world of difference. Well worth the cost. Non toxic, non corrosive, and heavier than almost anything else you can load the tires with, even calcium chloride if I remember correctly.
    I did my rear tires on my tractor, like I said, it made a world of difference.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tires are loaded, our dealers won't sell a tractor with a loader if the tires are not filled. We should have put a counterbalance on the back.

    The hookaroon or pickaroon is a mighty convenient piece of equipment once you get the hang of it. The wife and I are headed down to a town named Panacea at the end of the month for a little rv style camping. It looks like it's on US319 south of Tallahassee. I guess that I should leave most of my Clemson gear at home for this trip. Nice haul of wood.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know panacea well, eat at Angelo's for some fresh seafood. But don't shy away from the little roadside restaurants (like Poseys), they don't look like much but have great food also. Welcome to Seminole country!

    I have a 4052M with a D170 loader. I have been wanting a bucket level indicator for it but it seems that you cannot get one unless you just engineer one yourself. Has your dad looked for one and found the same thing. I have tried to remember particular placements of the cylinders when it is level, but you know how that can be. Was just wondering your thoughts and if your dad had any ideas.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought dad's had the same bar indicator mine does. To be honest I don't even use mine, I just look at the top of the bucket. Next time I'm over at dad's I'll look. It's just a bolt on piece, I don't see why it wouldn't work on yours.

      It's a metal bar in a tube on the front right loader arm of the tractor near the front pivot part. The bar can be slid in and out of a tube so it's user adjustable for level indication. I'd double check if you have that. I can send you a picture via email of mine if you need it.
