Hi. I work for a consultant. the contractor claimed the price escalation following the same procedure like you have mentioned. But the client is not satisfied. He needs to do the price comparison between cost in rupees (base month vs current month). the contractor says he does not have the rates from base month as this is a lump sum project. Its taking too long now. What to do in this situation??

This is the standard procedure to calculate. Even if the profit is more or less we usually go with 0.85 factor only
