I love all of your Citizen Soldier reactions not many reactors react to them. This song hits really close to home for me I am always the one to help other people but when I need help it's like a ghost town no one is there to help me.

I had a friend who really talked up about helping/caring for his friends only for him to just leave. Another friend who loved just joking about was the one to ACTUALLY reach out and BE the friend that said they'd "always" be there

I LOVE Citizen Soldier and they are so underrated!! His voice cuts me to the bone every time and the lyrics are so gutwrenchingly honest you just can’t NOT feel the pain and the hope and the fight. More people need to hear them!

I really took this song to heart when I first found it, since it really resonated with me. I was in a terrible mental state a few years ago, and I called out for help to my parents by writing a note. Long story short, it never came. I was stuck alone, and had to fight my own fight without anyone supporting me. Now years later after I opened up about it to my mother she said I never asked for help, but I did. She told me that she felt like she failed me. I just told her she didn't, even though deep down I feel like she did. Right now I'm at a much better place than I was before I found Citizen Soldier a year or two ago, and met true friends who I can depend on about 5 years ago. It's been an excruciatingly long process, but I'm glad I didn't give up.
I just found your channel today and I'm off to bed, but some good songs to look at from Citizen Soldier in my opinion would be Made by Misery, Tattoos and Save Your Story.

This was a fun reaction. I follow Citizen Soldier - but I don't typically listen to their harder songs, so it was fun hearing it and hearing your side of the story and your vision of the song! I can relate a lot to the song, it's sad when you feel like giving up and the one's you thought you could trust to show up just don't care. It hurts more when you've sat and put your heart and soul into helping said person. The one thing, when I was in that place, that I wanted was someone to care - and I found that most people are either scared of that place, or they don't care to hear it. It can be really difficult and put you in a worse position mentally. It sucks!
I hope everyone is having a good day, and if not, I'm so sorry! I wish I could hear everyone's story and support everyone - so take this to heart! It will get better. The suffering you might be going through hurts - and it feels like you can't breathe. However, even at the most basic level, you have things to be grateful for. Your heart is beating, you're breathing air, and you find yourself watching things you enjoy. Take it one step at a time! You'll make it, I know you will! Even if I don't know you personally.

Something people that are trying to help have to understand is, when someone's in the depths of this type of suffering, sometimes, it's too much to reach out. It's too much to say hey, I need help. I need to talk.
Sometimes it helps for someone to come to YOU and say he, how's it going? How are you? Are you okay? What can I do? Sometimes we can't reach out a hand and need a hand reached towards us.
Sometimes "I'm here for you" isn't enough. Show me.
And you're right. I'd rather someone not care or try at all, than have someone try and then give up on me. Don't give me false hope. It's devastating.

When I could still work, managers would ask me how I was. They didn't really want to know how I was, so I started asking them, " Do you really want to know or are you just asking." They didn't ask me again because they couldn't give 2 mouse farts how I was doing.

I have dealt with this my whole life even my own family I have always been there for everyone else but when I’m hurting and in that place and I reach out for help I get told I’m making it up or that I don’t feel that way I’m just lying

If you would want to go down a musical rabbit hole, I would highly reccomend the swedish band Sabaton. Their songs are (maybe except one or two earlier ones) about military historical events/people. I think you might appreciate the story behind "The ballad of bull", "No bullets fly" and maybe "Hearts of Iron". But my personal favorites are "Attack of the dead men", "Father" and "Soldier of heaven" with an honorable mention to "Steel commanders"
