never owning an AES (obviously) I just heard they were identical and never thought about it. wasn't aware of this at all, really helpful thanks. I take it this a retroarch function not just for pi?
Hey Eta Prime, why won't you use unibios instead ? You just need a free unibios 3.3 as neogeo bios, and configure in retroarch unibios, that's the best way to start a game switching either MVS or AES with ABC buttons and easily switch regions Best regards
Hi ETA-Prime, you seem one of the most knowledgeable person on the Pi, would you know how to shorten loading times from when you have the option to press A, until the game actually loads could be >10 seconds, on some of the newer builds/releases, Cheers Alan
Hey ETA, I followed these instructions but my neo geo games still run like arcade. The only way I can get AES mode is to use the UNIBIOS and select the mode of each game before starting. Any suggestions? My retropie and cores are up to date.
Vinny M in the documentation of the link is informed the version of the roms retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade it was this kind of information that I was looking for
trust me once it's working, I just leave it be. too many times now I've upgraded only months later to be a party and launch a game for everyone and it suddenly doesn't work!
Wow, all this time I've been running retropie and a brand new revelation! You rock ETA! Thank you
An interesting thing is you can play in practice mode in KOF's to train combos.
Sweet!

Thanks so much for another great informative video. Do you know if there are any graphical differences between the two modes.
Thank you so much, exactly what I needed.
Always great to learn these little tricks. How did you get videos on the selection menu? Thanks
THANK YOU!!
I think the credit counter and the bios load screen give it "Arcade Authenticity"!

UniBios 4.0 is even available free now. Though I'm not sure how to get it to work in RetroArch. That and Memory Cards...
Thank you so much for this dude! You rock! Love your channel. Trying this on Garou Mark of the Wolves tonight!

This is awesome! Always wondered about this. Is NEO GEO CD a whole different thing? I got it on my Wii and it seems just the same as the mvs.

Ok but Nvidia Shield has Steam on GeForce Now and I am surprised that you have yet to make a video on that
Love you eta prime!

Your RetroArch is 1.7.1, version 1.7.3 is the new one
Yep and it works with 1.7.3 just the same. I actually updated after I made the video. It was a fresh retropie install
