    imagine if this was a tunnel for a rollercoaster ride in a theme park dedicated to Liszt, and we the audience would literally ride through the piece while observing the light show with the music in our ears

    • @eternal.guidance_

      When your only appreciation in music the level of hardness is please never listen to it again, because there are many pieces which look easy but are super hard to play perfect and it‘s also not important if it‘s hard or not, i play gymnopedie and also winter wind at the same time and for me gymnopedie sounds even better

    i like the mechanical feel of it. It is like a music box. Every note is played exactly when it is supposed to. It would be nice if the end was more dramatic, but then, it would not be what it is. Perfect. You know it's perfect when everyone has an idea on how to make it imperfect. That's life.

      I love music boxes. When I was a child we had a hand-held toy music box that played the Swan Lake theme with little arpeggios going on underneath it. That thing was fascinating to me seeing the visual and audible synchronization of it. It made the music much less abstract.

    Your animations are pure perfection. Walt Disney would have died to have this capability when he was making fantasia. However, allow me to complain about some of the choices made for the performance of the music. Like this one for example: its a midi file and very robotic. Wasn't there any recording of a real person playing whowould release their copyright to you? I realize that syncing a midi file is a lot easier but it adversely affects the music. In any case, keep up the good work, these are amazing teaching tools.

    • @andyfillebrown
      @andyfillebrown  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks. The MIDI files are ok, but I agree with you that they're not the best. If you find someone with good MIDI files willing to release copyright, I'd love to have them. They are not easy to find. That being said, make sure you check out the Goldberg Variations on this channel. They are studio recordings that were released into the public domain by Kimiko Ishizaka that I synchronized using MIDI files made at the same time during the same recording sessions. I wish I had more time to do more like that. Also, make sure you check out the newer videos on this channel. They are made from MIDI files made from real performances recorded during a competition. See the video descriptions for web links.
      I'm also working on an app that will let people make these kinds of videos easily from any MIDI file they want. So stay tuned for that, too!

    Could I suggest a couple of pieces? I love your work, and I'd love to see Liszt's transcription of the four movements of Beethoven's 9th symphony, for solo piano. Your work is amazing!

    One of classical music's best pieces, my favorite version was played by Mr. Bugs Bunny with the assistance of a mouse. Why someone named Franz Liszt got so much credit, I DON'T KNOW! :)

    It's nice this song gets some love from yough people.
    But the song is actually way more beautiful.
    This computer is nearly making fun of the feeling this should be played with.
    And the final comes to early. A nice part is missing.

      David B agreed. I also noticed some tunes where off the rythm and the beat. Especially the higher ones. While some don't have sufficient lift to convey the feeling of this piece.
      But the visuals are very satisfying to watch. So I would say great job the person behind this.

    • @vikli5966

      serena I read somewhere Chopin once told Liszt not to mess and improvise with his music and afterwards he plays for 1 hour and Liszt was like you’re right.

    • @vikli5966
      @vikli5966 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Saosaq Ii Yep, sounds like them
      Chopin was incredibly jealous of Liszt’s success/skill though
