SW-Motech SYSBag Review || A Flexible Modular Luggage Solution

  • The new SW-motech SysBag system offer lots of mounting options, both directly to the bike using straps OR mounted directly to a rack or side carrier.
    This meant one set of Sys Bag luggage that works on both my Triumph Street Twin AND KTM Adventure bike!

    Good honest and informative. Thanks! Wonder if anybody tried to use right side on the left on the SLC bracket...

    Thanks for making and uploading this video 👍 It was really useful to gauge the ‘true’ size of the 15l case when held up by a human (unless you’re either a giant or a tiny person, which I don’t think you are). Too often, having the measurements from a website spec sheet doesn’t give the true practical scale of anything. Definitely top of my bag research list so far…

    Great review and thanks! I've been looking for an option for my BMW F700GS that is not too big and bulky. I have a SW Motech Adventure (hard) topcase so don't need huge side panniers. I worry about hard boxes catching on something like my car going into and out of the garage with how my parking situation is configured. These look like a good choice.

    • @mancavemoto

      It’s a great system, and the good thing is there is now a lot of great luggage out there. Check out their Blaze panniers I reckon they’d look good on a trip

    Straps are very comfortable to operate though. It's hard to secure them.

  • @thalisblangidis8577
    @thalisblangidis8577 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do like them because they are not very big and they are sort of semi rigid. I think I will get them with the SLC rack which is permanent on the bike but it takes much less space and looks quite neat. The only drawback I can see (apart of the security, which is an issue for all soft bags) is that in the 790 adventure the right side goes out more than the left side and you must be a bit careful. It is pity that SW Motech doesn’t have an offset solution (sys bags wise) for bikes like that

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The offset issue can be a problem. I choose the Kriega OS panniers so that I could put the 22l on one side and the 32l on the other to balance out the width. th-cam.com/video/3RQIVaMADQs/w-d-xo.html

      @@mancavemoto Yes I have seen it and I think it is a great solution to have your luggage with minimum weight (this system and the Mosko moto rackless one). Myself occasionally I get pillion so I think the sys bags are a good solution without adding a lot of weight. I haven’t taken the decision yet though :-)

  • @OldManTony
    @OldManTony 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for sharing. I’ve been looking for something for my Tiger800 and I’ve not seen these before. The system seems a bit dear though, I might go back to plan A, a set of Givi Dolomiti panniers.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bags themselves are a decent price. It’s was the side carriers and rack that bumped the price up

  • @BS-jw7nf
    @BS-jw7nf หลายเดือนก่อน

    I like the idea of these bags, but I'm missing a serious waterproof option or some real high capacity option with some straps over the rear seat to deal with the weight. My Duke 390 does not really hace many options and especially riding through extreme rain makes these not that ideal.

      Yes, but I’m not sure how stable a solution that would be given the imbalance. Effectively the side pannier would be relying on the one strapped to the seat for stability.

      @@mancavemoto Thanks, would you be willing to make the ones of the bags strapped together available for my personal use? I'm trying to better understand if thry would work well for my bike. Also, how do you think a sysbag 30 with two 15's on the side would work out strapped together? Too wide maybe? I ride a 2013 Ducati Multistrada and am looking to get rid of the OEM hard top case and panniers, but only if there's an improvement to all aspects: cargo capacity, weight reduction, and also same or lower center of gravity. Capacity and weight improvements are easily achieved, but not sure about CG.

      They do indeed, The Overlander System looks good, and I'd be interested to try that out too. The SW Motech ones are waterproof due to the liner, and the outside material will keep out all but long torrential down pours. I guess its all about what you need the luggage for. I like the flexibility that it can all tie in with the aluminum adventure luggage too. There are pros & cons for each
