  • As part of our interviews leading up to Halloween, we sat down with Myke Hideous, known best as the frontman and driving creative force behind The Empire Hideous and Spy Society 99, and also as a former Misfits vocalist. Myke was comfortable being very candid with us about a lot of things involving the Empire Hideous project and why he has decided to make the latest release "The Time Has Come" the final album of original music.

You do realise that Michale didn't just "leave" He said in an interview that he had an argument with Jerry only and later Dr. Chud called him and said Jerry had replaced him with Myke Hideous so Michale called Jerry and stated that he was part of the band too and that you cant just replace him but that if he wanted to be like that then fine let it be. Thats how he left, Jerry just replaced him out of thin air. So don't call him disloyal when in reality it was Jerry who was disloyal to Michale.

An honest man. A rare commodity these days folks. Thank-you very much. I listen to Myke on Michael Deacon's radio and Boobtube channel - (as well as Michael Deacon's other mass media shows) and he is always gracious and polite (well I am stretching the truth here just a bit LOL as he gets down and dirty when it is necessary) and is always willing to learn. We are of a similar age chronologically as I am turning 60 and I found common ground with many of the bands and musicians that Myke played with and actually myself knew as I grew up in the so-called "Media"... albeit on the left coast of the USA. He has lived through some very tough experiences (cancer and other maladies) and still continues to grasp on to life till this day and is a prolific artist and bird lover as well. To the best of my knowledge he lives in Pennsylvania in relatively small community and despite many health challenges is doing well. Blessings for the interview and blessings to Myke. Be well all.

I've known Myke for a long time. Haven't seen him in a while, but he was always a perfectionist, but also one of the coolest people I know. I can tell you this, he's not the problem. Being a musician myself, it would be an honor and a priviledge playing in his band...

I can't see how anyone can disrespect him. I played keys for him for a short time. He is a perfectionist. He has amazing stage presence. He is a professional, and talented. He influenced me greatly. I think the major problem is that most people that played for him had their own projects going on. Musicians usually don't stick around. They do have to be replaced often. It was his dream and his dream alone. There fore people are expected to stay only a short while.

Most don't want to work with such a rigid character that allows no input from his fellow musicians!.. There certainly must be a captain to steer the ship, but no one want to be in a band where "play it exactly like this and don't add/change anything!"...

Myke is a great guy, you just have to get to know him. He's not a very trusting person, and he has good reason to be that way. Don't judge someone without knowing them.

Awesome interview, he cuts the bullshit, and is honest about what it’s like to be a visionary, some artists will be nice about putting up with musicians the nicest way possible, this guy just tells it like it is. Respect.

I've worked with a lot of other musicians myself. It's hard to find people who are up for dedicating themselves whole heartedly into a band, it's why bands break up all the time. Plus we all have personal lives and there are always other opportunities.

You can't be a control freak. That's why they hire producers and managers to have final say. Look at Danzig and Jerry did to their own bands.
