Sometimes what I love about Jojo deaths is how sudden they are. Real life deaths can be like that too. nothing drawn out, just sudden death. the stakes are so high right now
6:00 the soul cant lie and its D'Arby who chooses to make the question. You cant lie to the question either by lying or by answering another question. You cant control your own soul that way. Also, yes, I do think Joseph has played more videogames than Jotaro in his life
Even if he wasn't, dude was missing two arms - no one's lasting long after that kinda trauma and blood loss. RIP the realest one, went out like the hero he was 😔
Avdol's death always impressed me because it is very sudden, vanilla ice really is a formidable enemy. After part 3 ends, I would recommend watching some scenes from the OVA of part 3, there are really cool scenes like Avdol's return against the Justice stand
Realize that that's why Jotaro picked baseball. He knew that Joseph was older and wouldn't know many video games. But he's American and so would for sure know the rules of baseball. The first couple of crappy moves was Jotaro showing Joseph the controls. Once Joseph knew the controls, he could play a game of baseball on his own, purposely doing something different than Jotaro announced.
I remember when in part 1 you guys went "I cant believe im getting emotional over jojo's" now look at y'all :D Jojo really punches you in the gut, you guys are the best reactors to the show yet with all the predictions you guys make
Are we gonna have anymore wacky encounters like D'Arby? *NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!* ...Will we at least have a couple more laughs before the finale? *NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!* ...Things are gonna be serious and grim from here on out? *YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!* Is someone going to die?! *YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!* IS IT AVDOL AGAIN?! *YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!* *Y E S !* ...are you serious...? Yes, yes, yes. Oh my gahhh...
I absolutely adore the fact that D'Arby Junior is weaker than his older brother, despite having a stronger stand. One of the best parts of Jojo power sistems is that just having a higher number or more abilities does not mean shit if your character is not smart enough to use it
It's not like he's weaker Stand wise. The Stands of both brothers aren't physically powerful and rely only on soul manipulation to defeat enemies. And pretty sure they were both smart enough to apply them, hence the numbers of their victims and being close to defeating the main gang. It's just that Jotaro exploited a weakness of each D'Arby. Senior was master of cheating, but fell to bluffing. Junior would never falter before bluffing but got outsmarted by cheating.
Spoiler: . Okuyasu for example Dude probably have the strongest non evolved stand But he is dumb so he uses punch and kick more than his erasing abilities.
That's something I do like about JoJo, unlike other action manga/anime the power creep is left to a minimum. Like, if you take the part 3 gang and put them against the enemy stand users in part 8, they still have a good chance at winning (except against Wonder of U).
There’s no way Avdol is alive inside Cream (Vanilla Ice’s Stand, idr if they say it out loud in the anime). Even if there is a “dimension of darkness” where things go, Avdol got sent there in one atom-thick sheets. I think that line is only in there to explain how conservation of mass works there, since matter cannot truly be destroyed. Fun fact: while the music references are all over the place, Cream is the first Stand to have a music reference for a name, a tradition carried on from part 4 onwards.
If I had a nickel for every time Avdol was killed in an instant while saving Polnareff's life, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Fun Fact, localization changed the name to Billie Jean, which is confusing since they sensor other Micheal Jackson refrences... his origional name is Kenny G and his stand was called Tenore Sax
I love the change from episode 1, where Jotaro didn't give a fuck about a grandpa, to this episode that they can make plans together without even talking about it Vainilla Ice still to this day is one of the most dangerours stand users Abdul, the man with no talking phase in important fights T_T
So here’s the thing. Avdol despite being told to turn around did it anyways. It might seem stupid but it was a trick by Vanilla Ice anyways, if he didn’t turn around he would’ve slaughtered all of them. Avdol was brave enough to ignore the warning and confront the danger and it saved his friend’s lives.
I can't underestimate how terrifying Vanilla Ice's Stand was when I first saw this episode. Other Stands in Part 3 aren't as utterly deadly as his, but the final payoff is one of the most satisfying ones ever
Music refs: D'Arby: Same as his brother. Cool Ice: Real name is Vanilla Ice, named after the rapper. Billie Jean: This is a localized name, based on the Michael Jackson song. Real name is Kenny G., named after an American Saxophonist. His stand was named Tenore Sax, based on the instrument; Tenor Sax.
Just a fun fact, that guy Iggy messed up to undo the labyrinth illusion it’s actually called Kenny G., when translated they called him Billie Jean and his stand, though it wasn’t named in the anime it’s called Tenor Sax and was also responsible of D’Arby’s room looking like a tropical island. The few characters whose name stayed as another music reference.
And thus our journey of P A I N has begun. Much like real life, JoJo treats death with a reverence. They are either gone far too soon without a word, or tou watch them slowly fade to dust in front of you. . .
They did Avdol so dirty 😭 If you guys get the time, please watch the 13 episode OVA of Part 3 made in 1993-2002. It's not the best, but for its time it's amazing. It did take a whole lot of liberty, by cutting out certain fights, and adding some stuff of its own. And Avdol actually gets to shine in a bunch of the fights there. But on the contrary, Kakyoin takes the back seat on there.
Not going to lie, Vanilla Ice is one of my favorite villains in JoJo. His stand is terrifying and powerful, his design is cool, and he has the same unbreakable will and tenacity as the main characters. Very excited for the rest of the fight!
BTW Billie Jean is another weird example of the localized name just being another music reference as the User's actual name is Kenny G after the famous Saxophonist
Love how the D’arby brother fights are complete opposites in the approach, Jotaro using what he’s observed to understand how to get the upper hand against his opponent. Also Terrence saying that he doesn’t cheat when his Stand allows him to read his opponent’s intent so long as it’s a yes or no question. Yeah, he’s no better than his brother.
Its interesting that both the D'Arby brothers age drastically after their loss. The implication is obviously stress making them age, but the more interesting theory is that the souls the brothers captured actually slowed down their aging and that by beating them they released the souls and made each brother revert to their *real* age
= Stand Catalogue = I shall be listing stands as we encounter them, their stats, and their abilities as known at the point of the series Im commenting on as we follow each Part. No spoilers, of course. Stand Callouts: These stands were present, but didn't do much for the main fight - Star Platinum - Hermit Purple (Remember, it can control tech!) - Silver Chariot - The Fool Fun Comment of the Day: That was rough. Araki really went "guns are shit, lets just EVAPORATE him". Stand Name: Atum Stand Type: Close-Range Humanoid Stand User: Telence T. D'Arby the Younger Reference: Egyptian God of the Origins, Atum Destructive Power: D Precision: D Speed: C Range: D Persistence: B Development Potential: D TLDR for Alicia: Like its brethren stand, Atum has sway over a persons soul - when weakened by the feelings of defeat, the stand can drag their soul out of their bodies and store it in a nearby vessel. This is helped by its ability to read a persons soul, which like a more powerful version of mind reading allows them to extract the truth from their target near irregardless of what they do.
The Breakdown: Atum works similarly to Osiris, in that it can take advantage of the weakness in someone's soul that immediately follows defeat (either literal or mental) and uses it to liberate their souls from their bodies, only instead of making soul chips, Atum seems to prefer storing them in a vessel - like a doll. These dolls are capable of acting in a limited fashion like an actual body as a result, twitching, moving otherwise porcelain facial features, peaking, etc. Unlike Osiris, Atum has urther sway over the soul, as it is capable of attacking its body parts (such as a hand) to another stand on contact in a manner that only the user can undo once in place, allowing for them to damage their opponent severely over range, perhaps without them even knowing as Jotaro didnt realize anything was wrong until D'Arby the L pointed it out. Atum's primary ability is its Binary Soul reading - it is capable of asking a persons soul simple two choice (binary) questions, like yes/no, right/left, straight or switch up, etc. Because even if a person is mentally or actively lying, their soul cannot lie, it allows the user to determine the targets true intentions without fail. This prediction allows the stand to react fast enough to catch even a stand like Star Platinum off guard, making it dangerous in direct combat or other social interactions. Of course, this only works if the user targets the right person with its stand, otherwise what may seem like a soul somehow lying may hide a close friend acting for the target instead.. Like Osiris, this stand sees to mostly rely on engaging opponents with some sort of wager/distraction in order to defeat them rather than outright combat - while its ability to latch onto ones soul may make it easier to force someone into a wager with the user, the stand is otherwise mostly a non-option in direct combat. Stand Name: Magician' Red Stand Type: Close-Ranged Avian-Humanoid Stand User: Muhammad Avdol Reference: The Magician tarot card Destructive Power: B Precision: C Speed: B Range: C Persistence: B Development Potential: D TLDR for Alicia: A powerful bird-like stand with the ability to manipulate heat and spiritual flames to the user's content. The Breakdown: Magician's Red is a close ranged stand with a focus on elemental fire as its offensive power, rather than physical actions. It is capable of creating and controlling heat and flames as easily as a Hamon user breaths and instilling unique properties into them (such as being physical objects), giving its user incredible fire power and utility - though naturally, it does mean that the flames do have the weaknesses inherent of normal fire, which gives it a easy to spot weakness, though one Avdol is unlikely to make it easy for one to take advantage of. Red Binding is the first technique Avdol showcases - using lashes of flame he immobilizes his target without burning them. However, the flames still greedily consume oxygen from their environment, which in the case of the target rapidly starves them of air, likely with intent to incapacitate them by making them pass out. It could likely outright kill someone with this in mind. Crossfire Hurricane (This is a Rolling Stone's reference) is Magician's Red's most powerful attack. A brilliant ankh shaped fire blast that is hot enough to melt through rock, it is meant to overwhelm an opponents defenses in an extremely direct explosive attack. Ontop of this, much like any of Magician's Red's flames Avdol retains precise control of these flames - using Crossfire Hurricane Special, Avdol creates multiple of these powerful flames in succession and directs them individually towards a target, a strategy which can be used to avoid an opponents defenses, or distract them and leave them open to a finishing blow. Magician's Red's Life Detector is a 6 spoked creation of flame that shows one of the more mystical abilities the stand is able to imbue into its flames. The detector points in 6 directions, and responds to respiration (via lungs or skin), thermal signatures, the life force of animals and people, even stand energy by flaring up in the direction(s) indicating the location of the target, with the strength indicating the strength of what it is detecting. This allows its user to detect hidden threats, though it only works if the target of interest is in the same plane of reality as the user. Stand Name: Tenore Sax Stand Type: Integrated Ability Stand User: Kenny G. (Localization: Billie Jean) Reference: The Instrument, a Tenore Sax Destructive Power: E Precision: E Speed: E Range: D Persistence: A Development Potential: E TLDR for Alicia: A simple stand with varied application, Tenore Sax allows its user to transform the interior of a structure into an expansive, recursive illusion of extremely realistic proportions
The Breakdown: Tenore Sax is a straight forwards illusory stand ability that manifests without a physical form, simply its ability. When activated within a building it can transform its surroundings into a world of illusions, with extremely realistic proportions, such as the feeling of actual sand, water, and even wind in an underground beach, or seemingly endless, recursive labyrinth in a basement. The stand's ability to warp perception can affect everyone in its range, which seems to simply be the entirety of the inside of a building, making it quite powerful as a support ability. However, that's all it can do as far as we call tell - the stand seems unable to attack or defend its user beyond making illusions to lead them astray, requireing them to hide themselves safely while it is active. Stand Name: ??? Stand Type: Close-Range Wearable Humanoid Stand User: Vanilla Ice (Localization: Cool Ice) Reference: ??? Destructive Power: ? Precision: ? Speed: ? Range: ? Persistence: ? Development Potential: ? TLDR for Alicia: One of the most powerful, if not the most powerful and esoteric stands we have seen so far - Vanilla Ice's stand is capable of ripping itself and other materials into another reality, which destroys all matter besides the stand itself, protecting its user in a mobile sphere of death which promises destruction to all that make contact with it.
The Breakdown: VI's stand is an extremely physically powerful stand, with a similarly powerful ability. Anything that the stand eats is sent to a dimension of darkness (the shadow realm if you will), where near any matter that enters it is disintegrated, instantly killing those caught in it. The exception seems to be the stand and its user, as VI is capable of being eaten by his stand and wearing it safely, while the stand itself is capable of eating itself in order to collapse itself fully into this dark dimension. While inside the Dark Dimension, it seems to be able to still move rather rapidly, only now the dark energy exists in our realm aswell, as a disintegrating ball of death capable of immediately cutting through walls and people alike. . . .how do you beat this?

Sometimes what I love about Jojo deaths is how sudden they are. Real life deaths can be like that too. nothing drawn out, just sudden death. the stakes are so high right now
Cream is probably one of my all time favorite stands, and this fight proves why, that thing is as scary as it is powerful
16:55 dio is the only villain who knows how to use a door
6:00 the soul cant lie and its D'Arby who chooses to make the question. You cant lie to the question either by lying or by answering another question. You cant control your own soul that way.
Also, yes, I do think Joseph has played more videogames than Jotaro in his life
Avdol was straight upp sent to the shadow realm.
Dio asked Vanilla Ice to die for him and he did and Dio is like hardcore man.
I’m just gonna say it, there’s no way they can get Avdol out of the void because he was disintegrated before he was sent there
Even if he wasn't, dude was missing two arms - no one's lasting long after that kinda trauma and blood loss. RIP the realest one, went out like the hero he was 😔
The disrespect for Avdol is so messed up. No last words or anything. Just gone in a flash.
Avdol's death always impressed me because it is very sudden, vanilla ice really is a formidable enemy. After part 3 ends, I would recommend watching some scenes from the OVA of part 3, there are really cool scenes like Avdol's return against the Justice stand
"...but it is a dimension of darkness."
Bro got sent to the Shadow Realm by a Swordstalker.
I'm impressed Alicia figured out how the stand worked immediately
I remember when in part 1 you guys went "I cant believe im getting emotional over jojo's" now look at y'all :D Jojo really punches you in the gut, you guys are the best reactors to the show yet with all the predictions you guys make
Are we gonna have anymore wacky encounters like D'Arby?
*NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!*
...Will we at least have a couple more laughs before the finale?
*NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!*
...Things are gonna be serious and grim from here on out?
*YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!*
Is someone going to die?!
*YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!*
IS IT AVDOL AGAIN?!
*YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!*
*Y E S !*
...are you serious...?
Spoiler:
.
Okuyasu for example
Dude probably have the strongest non evolved stand
But he is dumb so he uses punch and kick more than his erasing abilities.
That's something I do like about JoJo, unlike other action manga/anime the power creep is left to a minimum. Like, if you take the part 3 gang and put them against the enemy stand users in part 8, they still have a good chance at winning (except against Wonder of U).
@@dimaudalow If darby younger was smarter, he couldve just kept asking questions until he figured out joseph was doing something.
There are some deaths in Jojo that are so sudden, abrupt, that we don't even have time to get pissed
Just remember, this happened while Jotaro Joseph and Kakyoin were playing video games
I love the change from episode 1, where Jotaro didn't give a fuck about a grandpa, to this episode that they can make plans together without even talking about it
Vainilla Ice still to this day is one of the most dangerours stand users
Abdul, the man with no talking phase in important fights T_T
So here’s the thing. Avdol despite being told to turn around did it anyways. It might seem stupid but it was a trick by Vanilla Ice anyways, if he didn’t turn around he would’ve slaughtered all of them. Avdol was brave enough to ignore the warning and confront the danger and it saved his friend’s lives.
I can't underestimate how terrifying Vanilla Ice's Stand was when I first saw this episode. Other Stands in Part 3 aren't as utterly deadly as his, but the final payoff is one of the most satisfying ones ever
First timer here, and I'm already loving how you did a speedrun on the 5 stages of grief when you saw what happened to Avdol 😂
Music refs:
D'Arby: Same as his brother.
The last 6 episodes are gonna be absolutely insane
If you think they did Avdol dirty in this episode, can’t wait for your reaction to the next episode.
"I don't know where the void inside my mouth leads." Damn he just like me fr.
Man, it really sucks that Avdol is really gone now. I wonder how Alicia and Ant will feel about the impact his death has on the surviving crusaders
Avdol dying to save him the first time emotionally fucked with Polnareff. I can only imagine he's going to crawl into his shell after the second time.
The pain, begins…
fr
It's kinda weird how they say it and how Ice is inside of Cream, but he can just turn into a void and erase things that he runs into.
They are either gone far too soon without a word, or tou watch them slowly fade to dust in front of you. . .
They did Avdol so dirty 😭
If you guys get the time, please watch the 13 episode OVA of Part 3 made in 1993-2002. It's not the best, but for its time it's amazing. It did take a whole lot of liberty, by cutting out certain fights, and adding some stuff of its own. And Avdol actually gets to shine in a bunch of the fights there. But on the contrary, Kakyoin takes the back seat on there.
Avdols end is arguably worse in the OVA though
@@Tores444 he does get his moment in the justice fight
Hey at least Araki even admitted that he did Avdol and should have used him more
@@benthemother3fan884 maybe JoJo 9? Would be a remake of Stardust
@@l0sts0ul89 The way jojolands is going it seems to be going the route of Vento Aureo 2
Rip Avdol. You will forever be remembered for the time you gave the Magician's Head to Joseph
Man I remember thinking the D’arby younger fight was boring as hell, but Alicia and Ant’s commentary really can make anything entertaining
Vanilla Ice has one of the most horrifying stands. 😰
How much i love that Jotaro meme? YES!YES!YES!YES!
Not going to lie, Vanilla Ice is one of my favorite villains in JoJo. His stand is terrifying and powerful, his design is cool, and he has the same unbreakable will and tenacity as the main characters. Very excited for the rest of the fight!
I think the reason why avdol went first is because he's the biggest threat for his type of stand
and this is why i call any character who comes back to life just to die again "pulling an avdol"
Abdul is a great guy, ask him for a hand and he gives you two.
Their hearts aren't going to handle the next two episodes istg 😭
Beware, spoilers for the episode!
Alicia: Maybe Avdol's still alive; copium?!
Araki: NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!
I think you're really going to enjoy part 4. Every season the creator's talent as an artist and storyteller improves significantly
I love this episode because it's one of the few times where Jotaro and Joseph had to work together to outsmart an enemy
Also no shot Ant literally predicted the alternate timeline in EOH midway through the video
Araki killed Avdol twice because he got tired of drawing Avdols hair everytime.
представляю, Ванила Айс отрубает себе голову, а Дио такой - эй я же пошутил.
Two best arcs this season about to hit back to back
It’s essentially a black hole but only Ice can survive within its void
Loved Daby making a meta joke
Then the last couple of minute hit me like a train
The pain arc begins. Alexa, play Goodbye Nostalgia by Coda - *grabs a bag of donuts*
I just wanted them to go on their fancy dinner together :(
= Stand Catalogue =
I shall be listing stands as we encounter them, their stats, and their abilities as known at the point of the series Im commenting on as we follow each Part. No spoilers, of course.
Stand Callouts: These stands were present, but didn't do much for the main fight
- Star Platinum
- Hermit Purple (Remember, it can control tech!)
- Silver Chariot
- The Fool
Fun Comment of the Day: That was rough. Araki really went "guns are shit, lets just EVAPORATE him".
Stand Name: Atum
Stand Type: Close-Range Humanoid
Stand User: Telence T. D'Arby the Younger
Reference: Egyptian God of the Origins, Atum
Destructive Power: D
Precision: D
Speed: C
Range: D
Persistence: B
Development Potential: D
TLDR for Alicia: Like its brethren stand, Atum has sway over a persons soul - when weakened by the feelings of defeat, the stand can drag their soul out of their bodies and store it in a nearby vessel.
Stand Name: Magician' Red
Stand Type: Close-Ranged Avian-Humanoid
Stand User: Muhammad Avdol
Reference: The Magician tarot card
Destructive Power: B
Precision: C
Speed: B
Range: C
Persistence: B
Development Potential: D
TLDR for Alicia: A powerful bird-like stand with the ability to manipulate heat and spiritual flames to the user's content.
Stand Name: Tenore Sax
Stand Type: Integrated Ability
Stand User: Kenny G. (Localization: Billie Jean)
Reference: The Instrument, a Tenore Sax
Destructive Power: E
Precision: E
Speed: E
Range: D
Persistence: A
Development Potential: E
TLDR for Alicia: A simple stand with varied application, Tenore Sax allows its user to transform the interior of a structure into an expansive, recursive illusion of extremely realistic proportions
Stand Type: Close-Range Wearable Humanoid
Stand User: Vanilla Ice (Localization: Cool Ice)
Reference: ???
NOTHING can prepare you for the absolute intense feels you gonna have with these last episodes
If I remember correctly, Vannial ice's stand is the only music-based one in "Stardust Crusaders." Regardless, this ability is stupidly broken.
