Great video Drew. Haven't seen zero grazing for years. I once worked on a farm where that was done. Roughly fed 100 cows off 20 acres, obviously that was only as opposed to cattle grazing, didnt included the winter forrage. Only a few hrs a day work. 👍
If you get some merch with "it is whit it is so it is" I'd be having a hoody 😂 I enjoy your videos as a non farmer 100% back Brittish farming and the graft you boys put in 💪
Is your milking herd still out grazing all day or just out part of the day or have you brought them in now for the winter ???? Great video and great to see the Sun lighting up your video.😊
A zero grazing setup can't be cheap, seen some with a front mower and pulling a grass pickup wagon on youtube a few years ago, but no speaking talking about the setup. But it must take some power with a 8 foot+ mower and pickup wagon
Think everyone is running round like a headless chicken at the mo, trying to get stuff done before the wet really hits. This might be a daft question but how come your feeding silage and zero graze grass? Though you’d just use the zero graze?🤷♂
Good interesting video Drew👍 regarding zero grazing saw a post on you tube how expensive it was to buy various systems 🙄😳 make use of what's already paid for makes sense 👌 looking forward to the ploughing 👍 we got our first vintage ploughing match a week on Sunday 👍
Tbe way a wud do that wi b mow the whole field and bale it an feed the bales straight away. Use the bales ti that field is done go again. I hate that cuttin grass every day it takes up serious time
@@DrewsFarminLife u hav to wrap it. I been doin it past 10 years. Tbe grass hardly starts to cook when it’s wrapped u till round a week. So if u do it field by field it will nears as gud as fresh grass
@@DrewsFarminLife Ahy well kinda probably wud but that crop ur cutting and that’s what I cut it’s no more that 3 bales to the acre so if u cut 15 that b round 45 bales u only need 16 turns on tbe wrapper it’s not much more than a role of plastic. That shud b £80 in plastic. That’s just my way of going mad lol I just spend a day a week at grass. I used to cut every day drove me mad
rotational grazing is what makes dairying fun and profitable.

Everything looking good and getting jobs done. Can you show us milking your cows.

Grass mixed with the concentrates seems to make the grass less appealing to the cows apparently, been told by the diet man this is the best option
@@DrewsFarminLife ahh right, fair enough. I know FA about cattle 😆
Goes all mushy
@@DrewsFarminLife cow chow soup🤣🤦♂️ sounds lovely 🤢

Grass heats too quick to cut it an leave it

I understand where you’re coming from but that sounds like a lot of plastic, this way might work out cheaper
