SHOW WHAT YOU FEEL OK WITH. AND LET'S LEAVE IT AT THAT MATT
Hell ya ! Been waiting for you to do a house. I can’t wait to watch these videos. Keep it up ❤
I am 80 years old. I have children all have college degree and have done well. I have watched your channel for 3or 4 years now I’m not sure how many but I would have to say that you are as successful as any of my children with what you have accomplished for yourself and I am very proud for you. You have built your garage and now you’re building a home. You have every reason to be proud of yourself And if that it’s not good enough for some viewers they need to get a grip of reality you are an incredibly awesome individual
@@richardmiffleton381 thank you!
@@DieselCreek Heck I'm only 73 and even I agree
Listening to the old guys is always a good idea.
Well said!
I’m just a kid of 67 and I’m damn proud of him as well.
I’ve noticed that Eva hasn’t been on the channel in quite some time, and that you’ve not filmed back at the house. Clearly you already drew a line between your home life and your TH-cam life. Your boundaries are your boundaries, and WE should honor and support them.
I think Matt should carry her across the threshold when finished as he clearly forgot the shiny spades for the ground breaking 😂
I look forward, as always to, watching yur adventures.
Demolition Ranch keeps his family out of his videos also.
A small % of watchers aren't all that nice.
Geez I auditioned a new financial planner..She stated great we can see each other shopping etc and im local..You aint my friend and I may just fire you sometimes, .. I demand privacy.
I agree she would make excellent comedy relief.
Some r stupid, some r not. Nuff said. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Talking about dreams, buddy, it's YOUR dream. If a 60 ft shed with a tin roof is your dream, live it and love it. So proud of all your hard work paying off!
People are just not used to people like Matt anymore. He doesn't give a crap about building a palace to show off to people. He builds what he wants for his needs. Thats how real people think. He is not building his house to impress other people, he's building it because he wants a house to live in. Nice quiet, secluded home in a beautiful setting. Perfect.
This is perfect for me man all I needs a woods with my barn and my house no one around 😂
Did you get everything off your chest?🤣🤣🤣

I see that Kim is wearing the OSHA-approved sandals. ;) She's a hard worker. We're all happy to see you so happy, Matt. Gettin' There!

Hey Matt, good for you for not allowing someone else to define what your dream is!
I think his wife will be amused .
@@bernardwill7196 She really has to be his true soul mate to be so patient with him being out so much with his job and all of the other stuff he is involved with. She is obviously a real jewel.
How strange that someone would feel justified in telling you that your dream shop doesn't qualify as a dream shop because it doesn't match up with his idea of a dream shop. Some people are so weird. As someone who is still working in a shop like your original garage shop, it's been great watching you build out your dream, and even better, watch you use it for so much fun and profit. Keep following your dreams, Matt!
To infinity and beyond! Eh?
Maybe that someone is thinking that it needs a bridge crane to be considered a dream shop! Lol
If I had a shop that size it would definitely be my dream come true shop, my 32 X32 is alright but I wish I had more floor space.
@@Hoaxer51that's how it alway is. No matter how much place you have, it's always a square to little. 😂
I wouldn't call them weird. I would call them a word beginning with "a" and ending in "hole". Matt's shop is HIS dream and not some jerk's, who doesn't have enough brains to keep his trap shut.
I'd put the shop will and truly into the "dream" category. Not sure how in heck anyone could find fault.
Kim just out there carefree in flip flops around all that heavy lifting getting it done, gotta love it.
We were commenting that she was in her ‘safety flip-flops’ 😁
Gotta appreciate a good Woman who can install a clam shell on a rollar compacter and drive it in flip flops-----Bravo!
Very true. Calamity Kim does some really interesting stuff on her channel on smaller scale. Well worth watching.
I've only caught short glimpses of Matt's wife. Is that Kim?

BEST part of this video is that you look sooooooooooooooooo happy Matt. You have friends helping you realize YOUR dream, not anyone else’s. I’ve said it before (and I see others share my sentiment) damn proud of you. Keep it up.
I built a home in the hills of Virginia with a full basement and lived in it for many years. When I was selling it and moving south a radon gas test was done and it was exceptionally high. My footers were about the same as yours/slate and soft rock. I had to put in a radon ventilation system before I could sell it. Just some information from an old man that really loves your content and watches every week.❤
One of my buddies is a home inspector. He said its kinda crazy how many homes have high radon
Yeah, that’s true. My Home Inspector said it was the highest reading he had ever seen. But after installing the radon gas vent system, it came down to below normal.
Huh, I had no idea Radon could be an issue, Radon itself is an element I don't hear much about. Not many homes have basements in Australia (at least not in the Hunter region), so it's never really been on my radar. The physics behind radon exposure/poisoning was kind of interesting too

@@DieselCreek yeah that wouldn’t work.
@@DieselCreek I've noticed alot of the farms and acreages in my area have gates on the driveways now. I believe there are electric gate operators that are battery operated, with a solar powered trickle charger, for where running electricity to isn't practical. I prefer the gate operators that use a "garage door" remote rather than a keypad.
Now you make me wanna play construction simulator on my Xbox, lol. I never finished the game so there’s still plenty for me to do. 😂😎🚜⛏️

At those angles, one can truly relate to those rockies & dirties. :D
Matt, this is an awesome build in a little slice of heaven. I understand the dream part, my dreams aren't even as big as yours, but they're my dreams, not anybody else's.
As far as privacy, you have to protect your family, so share what you will, I'll be here enjoying the content.
I always thought that Smith & Wesson did a pretty good job of maintaining my privacy. I haven't had to shoot anybody, well... ever. But then, I'm not a famous YTer. A
And I'm excited for Matt and Eva and the net chapter in life. Go Kids! (and yes, I'm that old LOL!!!)
Your dream shop is exactly what I would want my shop to look like.
Same here that shop is amazing
Me too says the guy with a 26x28 detached garage/shop limited in size because of lot size/zoning.
Not me at all BUT the thing is it’s great to have variety. What a world it would be if we were all the same.
except you should get an overhead crane for your dream shop
Hi matt thanks for the brilliant content I'm from the UK and my love for old machines has grown stronger watching diesel creek. Thank you.
Remember no one's opinion is gonna build this house. It's your shop and your house. For those who been on the channel for awhile it's outstanding what you have built for yourself. I'm sure your home will be just as amazing as your shop!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Watched this channel for years and admired your collection of junky machines that are rescued and repurposed. Like building the shop, you’ll need all those machines to build your dream home, good onya Matt!
Old Muckers there seems to spending MORE time out in the good old US of A ..... Anybody would think he's thinking of moving out there 😆
Nothing like a bunch of good friends playing in a really really large sandbox with full size Tonka toys. Awesome job Matt! You deserve your privacy, but a shot from the deck looking down at the creek with your mission accomplished beverage and your feet up as the sun goes down... that will be a great finish to the saga. Are you ready to have the wife within softball's distance of everything again? Although a non microwaved lunch would be a nice touch to busy busy day of shooting. You could have a movie theatre, just put up a drive in movie screen at the back of the laydown yard and park all the vehicles in rows with the Projector on the garage back porch; The DC Drive-In Double Feature every Saturday, matinee Sunday !
Matt you’re living your dream and you and your lady deserve it, go for it big fella.
I love your bucket cam!
I agree with what you’re saying, and I think “dream home” and “dream shop” have a lot more to do with location. I sold my house in town to buy my parents 10 acres of property only to realize that whatever shop I settle on building is going to be my dream shop because it’s beautiful out here
Can honestly say I've never been so excited for a yt video series to drop. Been waiting for this for nearly 4 years, ever since your first forest clearing videos where you said the plan was to build a shop and house. I totally understand the privacy concerns. Doesn't matter, so excited...and quite frankly a little jealous. I wish I could do what you are doing and build my own custom house on my own large piece of land. I, like I assume are many others, are living vicariously through your videos. Can't wait to see more! Thanks Matt!
@@revengejr wow thanks for sticking around!
I must say that calamity Kim seems like A very good operator, lord muk is funny as usual & it's great that the rest of Matt's friends came too help!!!
I love that Lord Muck and Calamity Kim came all the way from England to assist - how cool is that?
It's the only way to get away from that stifling "Health and Safety" nanny state. 😋
It's truly amazing how far this place has come! The first video I ever saw of yours was when you shoved the first Auto Car truck back to the container shed down that muddy trail. I thought to myself, what in the world is this guy doing shoving this old truck into a muddy, wet backwoods shed in the middle of nowhere!? Now that middle of nowhere has become a really nice civilized place. As far as those critical of what you would call a dream, I'm with you, Matt. I have a single wide mobile home on an acre piece of property. I'd consider it a dream to have a 2500 square foot house with 3 car garage and a nice 50x50 shop to work on the old iron. Right now I have to settle with carports with dirt floors and weather when fixing a car. Glad to have the carports to keep the old iron out of the rain, though.
@@stephensaasen8589 anything is better than nothing. Yes a lot of people didn’t understand the whole vision early on, but I think it’s finally coming together.
@@DieselCreek I for one just love it! I sure am glad I have what I have too. My old iron was out in the weather for over 20 years before I built those carports.

Matt you are an awesome guy. At 64 years old and a 30 year machinist I love watching your show. You have done well for yourself & it makes me smile to see a hard working young man succeed.
It's so good seeing it come together after all this time, you deserve it.
I’m 63 years old and I just finished the site prep for my last “forever home”. It’s a great feeling knowing that you’ve finished the most important part of the house build and that it was done right. Good for you and enjoy!
The Lady was a boss on that roller. Loved it!
Congratulations Matt on your awesome dream garage and soon to be awesome dream House. By all means keep your house construction private. Always enjoy and look forward to all your videos. Thank you and God bless 🙏😊
You get to set the privacy boundaries wherever you and your family are comfortable. I know other TH-camrs have had to install extra security to keep that 5% at a respectable distance. Have always enjoyed your collaboration with Sam, cool to see others involved.
I'm excited for you Matt! It's great you had a place for the dug out dirt and you have great friends and neighbor! Can't wait to see more. Thanks for inviting me.
It’s all down to the joys of being a TH-camr Matt , people are just so nosey and want to know all you business.
Matt, you are my people. Opening comments hit home. Do what you can with what you have. Happy for you and all of your accomplishments. Keep up the good work. 💪🏻
The biggest interest for me with TH-cam channels is watching the journey evolve and progress. Great you're not letting the channel get repetitive and stagnant
the kobelco excavator with its new decals and and paint job and overral restoration looks sick 🤩
4:50???? I'm already up and watching the video - that was unnecessary. Matt we are proud of you just for using fresh NEW wood for the house. Congrats and clearly you are a GREAT guy just by looking at all the friends that rallied to the call.
KEEP YOUR HOUSE PRIVATE! !! !!! Thanks for bringing us along.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about showing the inside of the house, privacy wise. I'd definitely keep the location of where you live as specific as "Pennsylvania", and don't even mention east, west, or "near X". I'd also definitely keep a closed gate at the entrance, just to make it clear that it's not open, and climbing over that gate or a fence is simply trespassing.
However, I feel like when somebody has found out where you live, it won't really matter if they know what the inside of your house looks like or not. I'm also guessing that you need building permits, which often include the plans and tend to be available for everybody to see, as long as they know where you live. I also don't really see any advantage (for a bad person) to know the layout of the house. I mean, most houses are pretty self-explanatory.
That being said: obviously you have to do what you and your wife are comfortable with. I'd definitely love to see the interior layout, since I'm just a curious person and do have a thing for American house layouts, but as said, you have to feel comfortable with what you're putting online, our opinion really doesn't matter in this case.
If he is smart he is not showing anything from the inside of the house. Next to privacy I would also keep a clear line between the work related youtube videos and the privacy of the house what is not work related, so not showing that to the internet :)
I can show you where his present house and the farm location are on Google Earth. It's not too difficult to geolocate but I shall not share and not even drop a cryptic clue. If Matt wants you to know then he will be the one to inform you. If Matt gets unwanted visitors then he more than has the means to dissuade them from being a nuisance.
Anybody with an IQ can find exactly where this is. But also with the IQ comes the notion that this is HIS home. Thus, if a viewer goes there uninvited, its a clear cut sign of mental issues.
*EDIT* After viewing the video, I realize that he could use some viewers to drive more machines
try block out license plate from now on you will change addressee to new place .
If someone wants to find the location of the property it would only take a matter of minutes since it is all public record.
Bad ass seeing people helping you out and definitely makes for a kick ass video with all the different jobs being done at once even though u were a beast doing it solo but having more people definitely is bad ass fantastic job brotherdh

Hey, Matt. Hope you're having a good day, love the show. Keep up the great work. I love to see you doing live jobs too. Like, building your house and you're mechanic shop.
😊
Really nice job done. Good friends and neighbors make the job go better. Lord Muck said he was helping on his last video, but wouldn't show any details so I have been looking forward to this video. Usually the 5% are the ones that screw it up for the rest. I have no need to see the insides of the house as that is not your regular content that I enjoy. I will bet the editing was as much work as the actual job. Great job on the editing. Keep plugging away Matt your dream is one step closer. Remember to smash the like button, it doesn't cost a thing & helps bring us more content.
I'm a young 60 year old fart😅 but matt with the value you brought to many people by sharing your knowledge and experience. You have earned what you have. If any one is jealous they don't understand the value of hard work. Thank you sir for all you do. Have a blessed day
Matt, you are really blessed with so many friends that you have helped and are helping you. You are an amazing person.
Thank you Matt for showing us this much of your house and the progress. I just love this kind of video. I could watch this all day. I love all of your videos. I am always amazed at not only the content of what you are working on but the fact that you can document it with the video is amazing. Unless you have tried to make a video, I don't think anyone has any idea of just how difficult it is to place cameras and actually capture the progress of what is happening. You have done a great job of that in your videos and I look forward to every one that comes out. I really hope it will be possible to show a little bit of the progress of the house itself as you move into the construction phase. I completely understand the privacy issue but this is such good content. I would hate to miss it. Thanks for all of your hard work. This really makes my day.
Fantastic video again, Matt. Love seeing a well coordinated project. Keep your privacy from the 5% - you show us enough to enjoy the projects you work on.

I like all the saves and fixes videos, while your home building is of interest many channels are devoted to home/house and building projects, but very few rescue oddball abandoned heavy equipment from the past.

Dear: Matt ,I have enjoyed all I have seen from your channel, its well done and also well edited by you. But mostly enjoy the quality of sound, video, and presentation.

That must be an exciting time for you Matt. It's to see good friends helping you out.
Happy to see Calamity Kim, isn't that what you called her, driving and helping with the mechanical stuff.
Fun video! My buddy and I did lots of excavation projects like this on weekends in the 80-90s and called it home improvement weekends. He and I worked well together with little to no communication because we both knew what the other was thinking. Our employers knew what we were up to and okay with it if we paid for materials and fuel.
So many awesome camera angles and Tons and tons of help and progress looks like your having fun in the process there Matt 32:39 @Diesel Creek

Although it seems like a waste of talent having Muck on the camera instead of operating equipment, he did a bang up job!! *For the first half of the video. I'm sure he did more operating than the little bit we see on the video. The picture quality on the entire video was really good, vivid color.

As much as I’d love a complete house build series like we got with the shop, your boundaries are the priority!
That is brilliant Matt. A dream for most us like you, to be able to build our own house. When I was borne my parents lived in a rented house. A few years before, my Father joined the first self build association in Britain. They broke ground a year before in 1954 and completed the last of 33 (our house) in 4 years. He was the architect, quantity surveyor and one of 12 brickies' as well as his normal daytime job as an aircraft designer. All 33 had daytime jobs. That wartime generation knew how to graft. All the drains and footings were hand dug! Much appreciate you showing us your dream coming true. Fareforward.
Love the new style intro great to see you Matt 0:10 @Diesel Creek
The way I see it, you are building what YOU want, living YOUR dream and having a shop at all is one of my dreams, even if it only fits a single vehicle. Keep doing what you do and let the haters hate, they are not you. Also, gotta love it when you get to play with all your toys with your friends, especially when building the foundations of your shop and now, your home.
I can get behind your dream house - anyone realising something they have sacrificed for, and genuinely wanted and striven for - no matter how small or large is always inspirational

I went down that same road in 2004. Bought 35 acres in 1990 in the woods of Colorado and built a shop and large equipment RV storage building while paying off the land.
Then built my dream home, small but our dream in 2004. 20 years later still loving every bit of it and still rent out my old home 25 miles away.

Mad respect to you for established boundaries varies and expectations up front. I don't think you should have to justify your dreams. They're your dreams and we shlukd just be glad that you have been blessed with the opportunity to turn them reality. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
I am disappointed that we won't see the inside of the home in detail as you build it, but I fully understand the reasons why and support you in your decision. In all honesty, I would very likely make the same decision. A home is a very personal space and it should stay that way. Good luck with the build.
I now have my dream shop after 77 years on the planet. It is in my backyard here in Arizona. It only has solar power with a power converter that can run a small bench grinder. It is 8'x12'. It is my dream garden shed because it isn't my garage that I have to share with anyone. I restore old antique tools and forestry 2-man saws that I display on the walls. Our HOA won't allow me to build anything larger, but that's ok. I can do anything that I'm able to do physically anymore. When Matt says this is his dream shop and home, I know exactly what that means.
We had our house built seven years ago now. It's modest in size but it's just the two of us so it's plenty big. Frankly I'm tired of too many wannabes proclaiming some "ultimate dream build". Dreaming in reality within your means is a good thing. Keeps things in reach. I just built my dream shop last year. It was as big as I could afford, but still has the features I wanted. Looking out the window every morning and seeing it looming there is a great feeling.
And definitely keep the interior private. During the build I had people stop and look and ask lots of questions. Most good, but there's always "that guy". I'm very happy for you!
