Beautiful! Just the right pace! Finally I got to hear the music, lyrics and chitteswarams! Cherry on top there’s lovely swaraprastharam too! I came to find this after hearing some super fast renditions that I could barely hear!
Beautifully sung, at appropriate kaala pramana. When Sri Nedunoori sings this kriti, the meaning of the kriti comes through, perhaps because he knows Telugu. I have heard at least one hundred vocalists singing this kriti; 95 % of them sing this kriti at excessive speed, at the speed of a Chinese Bullet Train, which does not conform with the meaning of the kriti, and with what Sri Thyagaraja says: O mind Get rid of all the thoughts for at least one minute and think of Sri Rama. There is a deeper meaning to this kriti. When you get rid of all the thoughts and the mind becomes free of thought, you experience Ananda, and you realize that the happiness you have been seeking is already within you; that the source of all happiness is your own jeeva (sacchidaananda). Musicians who play instruments such as Veena, are the worst offenders. There is one video of a Vainika who brags that she she playing this kriti "at top speed". Why, I wonder; does she know what Sri Thyagaraja says in this kriti? I hope musicians will pay a lot more attention to the meaning of the kriti, and sing accordingly. This is a very pleasant video, so soothing to hear. Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania
@@ramkumarnarasimhan4317 Oh, thank you so very much, Sri Ramkumar Narasimhan. I listened to this audio again today, and thought of four or five Sangeetha Kalanidhis who sang this kriti at mind-boggling speed. They all got huge applause, which shows that a large number of rasikas love super-fast renderings. All these fast singers seem to be saying: I don't care what Thyagaraja says in this kriti, I am going to entertain people by singing very fast, show my vidwat, and hear the applause. To hell with the meaning of the kriti. As the great Bhagavatham says: Idam Ittham: That is the way it is. Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania
@@yeshprab - You are a consummate rasika- I too had similar feelings with speed singers and I am happy you nicely explained your point of view. MD. Ramanathan's style I appreciate a lot , after some research I have come to know his approach to language is classical - i.e. he studied Telugu thoroughly so that he gets to the soul of krithi, which can take the rasikas to other level.
@@yaduthammineni7916 Thank you very much yaduthammineni. It is a well known fact that speed kills on the highways. Speed also kills the meaning of this kriti, and the raagabhaava and the very soul of a raaga. Yesh
