- Vintage broken switchblade knife restoration and customization. I think is German Stiletto. This switchblade knife was broken and I decided to restore it. I don't know how old this knife is. I removed the rust and made a new handle from deer antler. I hope you liked my restoration.

These are banned in the UK as an offensive weapon - another avenue of pleasure closed off. Nice work
Thanks!
I still have mine and won’t part with them they look nice on display
Wtf is an offensive weapon? Every weapon is offensive. Fuqk UK laws
@@dequaviusvandinglusiii6168 Yep there banned yet the assaults and murders committed by knife use in the uk shows the law is ignored
@@terrym3837 the uk is a joke. perfect example of banning things not working. but what do they do? they dont give people back their freedoms after realizing it doesn’t work, no, they ban more and waste more tax money frisking random people. the police there is super proud if they find some screwdrivers and shit on people and lock them up for deadly weapon offenses and none of them thinks for once about how its completely normal for people to not wanna get stabbed and be able to defend themselves. absolutely idiotic. the UK needs a regime change.
I've been wanting to restore my stiletto and this is exactly what I needed to see! Thanks so much!
Очень крутая работа👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 но с накладками на ручку подкачал👌🏼😏

Золоті руки( Golden hands)
😘👌
Very well done. You are a master craftsman.
golden hands! ottimo work master!
I remember these cheap stamped out pieces from my youth. And actually my brother still has a novelty one with the blade being a comb but other than that it's identical. It's easily 50 years old and still works!!!
I had one with a comb and another that had a 1 1/2" drilled our steel blade with a ball point pen in it.
i had one of those aswell
Brilliant craftsmanship
I could smell you grinding on that deer antler clear over here ! Lol ! Nice job !!
WOW 👌!!! Truly remarkable .!!! Beautiful work..!!!
Deer leaves antler lying about hoping to be a Bowie Knife... Ah well; ye cannae win 'em all! 😉
The Ellie's knife
Great job
Great job restoring a vintage knife. I have one almost exactly like it. I think you made it better than new. Thanks for posting!
Great job sir 👏
❤👌
A side opening stiletto with stag is the coolest. Very nicely done restoration and customization.
Доброго дня. Дякую за відео.👍
❤😘
your knowledge of knives is spectacular. The best I’ve ever seen. love your videos……🛠️🔩⚒️🔨👏👏👍👍🍻🍻
Excellent choice for stag, that's the traditional Italian Switchblade handle material, awesome to see you use it!
Buffalo Horn is the most common. Latham was probably the biggest user of stag for thetheir scales.
@@scottdunn2178 I assume your autocorrect corrected Latama into Latham.
@@shnookylangston Yeah... I hate that damn thing. LATAMA (importer) 🗡
Nice jobb..👍👍💯
Файне відновлення 👍
❤👍
Bravo !!
Craftsmanship for sure.
Good job!!!!!
I wish i could find an original one made in Italy you did a great job
Great work! I would liked to have seen you taper the handles into the bolsters.
❤☺
Italian stilettos do not "taper the handles into the bolsters."
Вийшов як новий! Супер👏👍
I got one , I always thought the handles were oversized, thanks for this, thinks I could change them.
Great job👍
☺❤
Freakin SWEET BRO !
NICE!!!
Thank you!
Outstanding bit of work>>>>✌️✌️
Amazing!!!
👍❤
fantastic work i have not seen one of these knives since i was a young teddy boy manny manny moons ago keep up the fantastic work.
I still have a couple of these. 1 is on the side like this one & 1 that comes out the front
Fascinating process! Thanks for posting this interesting video!👍
Bought one..44-years ago.. during my Honey moon..
Still have it.. ahhh, and so with the wife 😁😄
The stag being a bit more sloped on the sides would be a nice touch. Great job.
Italian stilettos don't slope their scales into the bolsters.
Muito bom o video obrigado por compartilhar!
Absolutely beautiful
This is a memory maker for sure. Back in my high school days (1950's) I took a short cut from the band room to my next class. My switch blade (identical to this one yet with a black handle) came open and stabbed me in the groin....ouch for sure...Thank you for all the entertaining videos this year. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New year Stay safe...captjack...
That's why the newer ones have safeties.
did you ever join the greaser gangs and harass blonde girls with pigtails carrying books home along the road?
@@mannywilliams6409 Spring knives are illegal here in Texas. I have a pearl handled one with the spring removed. Thanks for the reply and stay safe...captjack...
All types of knives are legal to carry in texas
Nice work.
Impressive 👍 well done
Excellent video thanks.
Fantastic, congrats for a good job.
Nice job mate. 👍stay safe
thank you!
❤☺
Superb job!
super netjes gedaan weer als nieuw
Excellent work
Fantastic work Thanks so much for sharing!
Great job! I can't help but notice the viewers who say they are not allowed a switchblade in their state. One of you mentioned Texas. These bans are being lifted all the time. Here in Pennsylvania we are now allowed to carry. Check your law again in Texas as they were supposed to be legal as of 2013. Some states have lifted the ban with some rules as to blade lengths, etc. Google your state to find out.
Outstanding work!!!
You do very fine work Sir, I have been buying and restoring old knives since becoming disabled to keep myself busy and I have always bought and fixed my own❤ knives . However I have a knife that I have absolutely no working knowledge of the actual mechanics of and need either someone to educate me or if possible fix the firing mechanism . It's an old leverlock automatic, any help you can give me would be much appreciated when 😊
Thanks! I have not yet restored knives with such a mechanism. If I find such a knife, I will definitely make a video of the restoration
I@@ReXtorer if I was to send you this knife how much would to get the firing mechanism fixed and you would get to use it to learn and use to on the video,i want it fixed and I am sure that you have the skills to figure it out and if not it'll be fine because I bought it in a lot of broken knives on eBay and it is something I will chalk up to learning experience.... lol
Nicely done, very elegant. I love the sound when it opens very satisfying. 👍
Nice restoration.
Fantastic work but it doesn’t close fully but it’s a wonderful finish
❤☺
Il mio primo coltello a 15 anni...
Great stuff! If I have one small grievance of the various restoration channels, it would be that they over do things a little. Leaving a bit more age patina would be great. 👍
amazing restoration ı love vıntage foldıng knives ı have a collection ı make restoration to ı love ıt
Great video! I don't know why exactly, but I thought a deer horn handle was gonna look a little cooler than it turned out. Either way, beautiful knife! Great job.
Excellent
Thanks!
Гарна робота… а пилка по металу ще від діда)))
Дякую! Так, ще діда)
👌❤
Wow! That closing mechanism shocked me! I e never seen that before and I wonder if it’s your idea?
Nice Job !!!
NEVER could figure out why the the Europeans left the handle material ,so proud of the frame. THAT said great job !
Beautiful restoration. The absence of a button lock puzzles me. The Italian knives always had them, for safe pocket carry. And I've never seen a kickspring mounted that way. An interesting look inside a unique knife.
I restored this type of knife for the first time. I think the knife has been reworked and the button there is not original.
Looks like a factory scrap build by an insider
Or maybe the company's in-hous example of why you don't do that. But the mis-matched handle makes me think otherwise
it was probably a cheap 10 dollar gas station knife, and not an authentic Italian blade.
@PolishBigfoot-me7oh no,German Market piece only, you can see how the blade seems too short? That's how they came but with blade size legalities. It's been meddled with before this guy had it, no safety, mis matched handles and most telling the rostfrei stamp. I collect these knives so I know couple o things. I like to think so anyway!🤔
nice! you'll can put a safety
🟥 Excellent craftsmanship 👍👍👍
What you ended up with looked way better than what that knife looked like when it was new. Nice work! Also, the dovetailed kick spring was usually only used on better quality knives. You got a keeper there! One little niggle, however. Usually "Vintage" is used when referring to a pre 1960'a stiletto that didn't have the swivel or bolster release mechanism like this one has. On those older models, one simply used his thumb nail to lift or pick the lock tab up off the blade pin which was why they were called picklocks.
Awesome comment!
i wouldn't accept the tip peek but it was definitely an improvement overall !
Super

Nice only thing is I see th blade don't fully close.and the wood handle could be shaped up close .other than that .very well done.it looks good
Great Restoration Bro :
Well done.
I wish you more success ❤😘
You should have spot-welded the lower edge of the blade catch hole and then re-machined it to hold the blade fully within the handle.
No . .don't weld the blade and change the temper. . . .Solder a Brass washer to the liner, to move the hole on the handle liner.
BEWARE "WEST SIDE STORY" song n dance routine😎
très beau Styletto: j'adore ^^
The last of us es mi serie favorita y esto 💕💕💕
muy buen trabajo. saludos desde Buenos Aires. me suscribí a tu canal
Un fenómeno,preciosa
Beautiful craftmanship and result. I think I noted your using a steel pivot pin for the blade, versus brass pins elsewhere, allowing the blade added strength / support. What I am not sure about is why you had to add soda after the vinegar did its job of cleaning most of the rust.
The thing doesn't have a lock? Wow.
The leaf spring on mine was part of the locking latch portion. All one piece... and the leaf spring broke. When I attempt to fix mine, I'll be fabricating a new piece.
stilettos are such an enigma in the modern day knife industry because nobody has the balls to make a modernized stiletto with the current super steels on the market. i can guarantee this knife is made out of 440C Stainless or some other unnamed Chineseium
@45proteinconsumer you should do a little bit more shopping around and i think you will find out that you are wrong. There are modern stilettos made of fine steel. Kershaw makes one that i own.
Old handle looked like bakelite
Great restoration. But I didn't see the blue cat.
Гарна форма леза!
I remember back in 1982 when I was in the USN SUBMARINE SERVICE, our sub pulled into Naples, Italy. I bought a switch blade in a shop in Naples. Don't recall whatevver happened to it....
great job bro but the blade is not fully closed
