@MayorMike I used to think watching other players would be the way I increased my ball IQ but truthfully my IQ only started to take off once my capability matched my reads for the game. I know that might be a bit difficult to understand. In other words, whatever you see Shai doing in film breakdowns is what was situationally appropriate for that point in the game and was specific to him and that situation. I’m not saying not to model your game after his or don’t take snippets from his game but before you do that can you honestly say that you have the ability to get the looks around the basket (scoring-wise) that Shai has? His ability to slide past the initial defender, the ability to be such a threat with one move on the shot that defenders jump at most of your moves, the pieces around him that make his passing ability lethal, the body control and handle that he prides his game on in order to thread the needle through the defense? These are just some of the qualities that Shai displays that give him the ability to make certain decisions that we see on film breakdowns. I’m not knocking your game or anything like that I’m simply asking you to self-assess and understand. God bless you bro
