- Last weekend I went for a trip to the local fishing town at the West Coast of Denmark called Thorup Strand. The local fishers in the town is setting up their fishing boats directly from the beach / shore. When they are done fishing they are being pulled out of the water by a Big Caterpillar CAT D10Z Dozer that easily pulls up the boats by wire.
This is really cool to watch hope you enjoy - spend the whole day at the location and got a nice dinner of the local fish!

On shore tug! Great video something I have never seen before
that big cat just idles and purrs pulling all that weight.
The hauling point on the stem/keel must be pretty special !!
I think it is a steel plate that runs down the length of the keel and has a stout cable attached to it. How do they get them back in the water?
I figured it was going to gut that boat like a trout...
Cool, ça change des tracteurs 👍
Is that dozer going to push it the sewage from the beach into the ocean like they do at santa Monica.
Do they do this at low tide? Does the tide when it is high lift them so they can leave the shore?
They usually fish when the weather is good enough to fish. They pull the boats up with the dozer. In the morning they are being pulled out with a winch that goes out in the sea, and is attached to the back of the boat.
D10 seems like overkill
Right?
How do they get them back into the water after dry docking them
They are being pulled at by winch. The winch goes out in the water and back to shore and is attached to the back of the boat
They just put the dozer in reverse………
Хороший аппарат,комфортный. Работал на KAT10-2
forgets to detach cable, drives to town for more beer.. oops!
That thing could pull 10 at a time..... No wonder their fish is so expensive........
Im worried that they would be torn apart!!! I have operated one of these and tore the hitch off of a disc plow
Why are the boats being winched onto the shore
They don't have a harbor.
They are coastal fishermen, probably the last in Europe
That's the only way to get the boats up on land
Can't be good for the strength and integrity of the boat,
The Danes went to Russia, Greenland, France,, America by boats even before these places were named, so think they know what they are doing.
how do they launch the boats?
They have a winch house where the wire goes out in the sea and then back on shore, the wire is hooked to the back of the ship to pull it out.
I found this video of the process of launching the boats - th-cam.com/video/YPqNy7POhxI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for watching 👍
