Hey! Are You sure about Guardian(Protection) skill, because my damage with shield skills is same with or without it. Tested while ago, and today also made reset to see what did i miss, but damage is still same. Here is what i think this skill does; it increase your aggro multiplier of shield skills. Even name and skill icon suggests some kind of protection and not damage increase. When tanking, paladin can not dish out damage to hold aggro over dps, even with 5 seconds cd provoke. Here comes Guardian(Protection) skill. This is what i noticed. BTW Now i have Guardian Will lvl4 core 2.5sec cd provoke and hope to get lvl 5. Can tank with Guardin will provoke on auto, with almost no problem, and recasting lvl 1 grand cross every 10 seconds for debuff.
i noticed this too, it seems to be a misstranslation of the skill description because when i played on the kor server with the english patch, it didnt said damage but hate.
I wanna know if this is true or not. Can somebody please verify? EDIT: I tried it out myself and can verify that Guardian skill doesn't increase shield skills damage output.

hello there, been watching your Paladin videos to prepare for its global release even tho it's still far away, so i know a lot when it does finally come out. some question though if you don't mind me asking, i didn't see you making a Grand Cross build video, would you say that Shield Boom/Chain build is the better choice for PvE? what about build for AFK grinding? i feel like for Shield Boom/Chain build you have to make a completely separate build(especially the shield) compared to Sacrifice build, where you can also use the same gear to grind with Grand Cross. What do you think?
Shield boom/chain is the only build that's viable for PVE when it comes to early game. You'll be wasting resources going for grand cross. The reason why I never made a grand cross guide was because it was trash. Unless in global they somehow buff it, it's not good. Until level 100+ shield boom/chain was the only PVE build I used and it was extremely reliable. (Wave 40+ in yggdrasil and reliable farming/afk grind) for pvp I only used devotion/gospel and SOMETIMES sacrifice if I wanted to have fun. After 100+ I used Holy Cross and grinded in glastheim.
@@JeezPlayingAgain heya thanks for the detailed answer! that really helps. and i do think i've heard in some GC guides that i've watched that it is indeed buffed, mainly because of Valkyrie Statue, and because Shield boom/chain is very reliant on Divine Light verus core. do you know what's the exact calc for GC? the guides i've watched are recommending STR for GC, but don't you get more MATK per int, compared to ATK per strength, making INT the better choice for GC?
There's 3 free resets for both your skills and stats, so you can honestly just play around with the settings the way you like. And it entirely depends on what your end build is going to be. But for the beginning just whatever helps you with leveling the best

I play on Global so Paladin is not out yet, but would like to ask few things. -On RO PC, rapid smiting ignores size penalty, is it not the case thats why you have to switch from sword to spear? Have you tested this already? -On RO PC as well, classes that has cast time prioritizes dex vs int/str for faster casting more dps instead of slow casting less dps but more dmg per hit. Are there any cons if i try to max dex first before str aside from lower dmg per hit? Thank you.

I recommend going shield chain and then open another preset for gears, skills, and stats and making a tank set. 1h sword and shield. Save some equipment blueprints at level 80 because I don't think paladin will be out for awhile. Also farm cards that gives HP and resistance. Peco peco, arigope, etc.
im also a pally in loki server...i use shield chain build on pvp..i do around 14k to 16k shield chain damage with 0.4 cast time and i am also tanky..it is still good in pvp..
Never said it was bad, just not viable or recommended. You may be able to deal that much while still being tanky but you also invested a lot of your time and effort. Also, in my honest opinion that sort of damage won't appear against Lk other pally and I really feel like you'll get cast interrupt from sinx and snipers. If you can manage to pull it off thats awesome bro! But I'm speaking of the general public
I did, and to me there was a difference in damage. But to others there wasn't. I'm going to test it again and look deeper into the skill with my korean guildmates and I will update this as soon as possible. Idk if its a bug or something.

Sword and spear will deal different damage to different size monster. So although spear does have a higher ATK stat then a sword, it will still deal 25% less damage to medium size monster so virtually, a tie. And same goes with sword weapons.

Oh its very noob friendly in older server. 1. There is a new player program that gives new players playing in an EXISTING server free stuff to help them jump start their adventure. 2. Higher server levels allows them to level up WAY faster 3. More items in the market so that you can craft your weapons and equipment faster. If you like Ragnarok games. Then this title is worth playing
Paladins are almost a must have in a lot of dungeons and MVPs especially the higher level ones. Besides that if you have a very good High Priest, then can constantly safety wall other players to take the aggro

it’s the % chance of it buffing your allies, or debuffing targets. 30% chance at lv1, and more as you level up. Tbh 1 is enough, upon testing with my friends, they basically get it right at the get go, I think the chance is applied every second, so 30% is pretty high already. Plus most of the time your allies might not even stand close to you.

Gospel works this way: - Every 10 seconds, select a buff/debuff (depending if you are using yellow or purple aura) at random. - During this time, every second you have a % chance to actually get that buff on you or ally in area (or debuff on enemy) where the chance depends on skill lvl (30% at lv1, 75% at lv 10) At lv 1 gospel, you mostly get 1 buff out for yourself up all time, however sometimes you get a few 1-3 seconds of 2 buffs. At lv 10 gospel, you almost always have 2 buffs up, unless when the buff selected is the same as the previous one. If you get the gospel verus core (+7 sec gospel buff duration), you can have 3 gospel buffs out at same time

I would also suggest you update the devotion Pally build too bro. It's a pally/tank after all. I would want to see some good updated devotion pally guide. And Im also thinking if the pressure skill during pvp is worth investing.. mixing up devo + pressure to totall annoy the enemies

Doesn't cavalry mastery give you back the 25% medium size penalty you get when using a spear? Effectively this is +25% dmg which is a lot.. You could use 1h sword but then that's 25% penalty on large mobs.. Size penalty affects all skills in this game including GC.. Also protection doesnt increase shield dmg, only threat/aggro generated by shield skills, as mentioned in other comments...

Auto guard i think so but it doesn't stack with reflect shield. Thats why you have to pick one or the other

I did, and to me there was a difference in damage. But to others there wasn't. I'm going to test it again and look deeper into the skill with my korean guildmates and I will update this as soon as possible. Idk if its a bug or something.

i think lvl 10 gospel is overkill. for me lvl 1 is enough since lvling it will just increase the area

I recommend Imperial Spear than ivory jeez it has more benefit for shield chain build

But would that be only beneficial if you have a slave priest around? I can see imperial as a very good option for a Grand Cross weapon though
