    My theory: If Lydia had been happy in her own love life she would not have felt the need to bring chaos into other people's lives. She was obviously disillusioned and bitter over failed relationships and got a thrill, an emotional high, from leading people on only to burst their bubble when the timing was right, just as her bubble had burst on her. It was her form of revenge, satisfaction, and entertainment to hurt others as she herself had been hurt. 🧚‍♀

  • @rullvox5912
    @rullvox5912 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    The Australian [justice] system hands down pathetically weak prison sentences to vile offenders on a regular basis. It's rare to even see a murderer get a long sentence in that country. I hardly ever watch any Australian true-crime stories because their weak criminal sentences infuriate me and raise my blood pressure.

    • @empyreuma
      @empyreuma 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Spot on
      As an Australian it's disgraceful that murderers are ever allowed back into society
      Lights permanently out for the victim but hey how about a 2nd chance for the criminal?
      Makes no sense & will not deter career criminals & perhaps is likely to encourage slaying rivals?
      Sentences are far too lenient & rarely fit the severity of crimes committed - good behaviour early release should be subject to life long clauses where any further offences mean no early release again & serving out any previous sentences in full
      Drink drivers that kill innocent people are given light sentences & sometimes zero time in jail! Instead such criminals receive a 2nd chance & most are able to keep driving after a period of suspension!!!
      How is this justice?
      Choosing to drink & drive & ending someone else's life even if not intentional shows very poor judgement & the minute people start driving while drunk beyond 0.05 they are committing a crime - add to this involuntary manslaughter & how can they not serve at least a minimum jail sentence for ending the life of an innocent person?!?
      In this case the sentence was probably about right, though LA should probably be subject to weekly mental health assessments & ongoing therapy or permanent detention in mental health facility
      The crime wasn't murder - the continuing destruction shows major personality problems & severe mental health issues that underpin criminal behaviour which requires punishment & therapy
      It's almost like Australia is prepared to give criminals another chance because it's too expensive to keep them in jail & there's always someone else on the way in for a brief stay after committing murder or rape or fraud or manslaughter....

    Theory: She is lesbian, but grew up in a highly repressed environment, therefore has always been closeted to the point she never even verbalized a hint of her proclivities/sexuality to a single soul. She turned online as an outlet, but even there she had too much shame and self hate to use her own identity or even gender identity. All this suppression manifested itself in completely toxic ways in the online "fantasy" world.

    Maybe I would think differently if I lived in a large country like Australia, but I have no understanding of how/why someone considers they are in a romantic relationship with someone they have never met. Is this common? I could never invest much enthusiasm into anyone I had never met in the flesh, maybe in the early stages, but if we hadn't managed to get together in the real world within a few weeks, it would never progress to the point of any sensitive photos being sent. Is this a generational thing?
