That rule doesn’t apply! If you’re going to buy it, look on holidays because the price fluctuates. I forget if I said it in the video; the best price I saw was on Black Friday!
@@laurenofalltrades amazing, thanks for the help. I want the refreshments package since is the best drinks package and also you can buy alcohol shots for the mocktails and save some money.
As a general rule, the machines are on the Promonade/Esplanade, and the Windjammer. Quantum class adds the seaplex to these locations. Having access to vitamin water and minute maid drinks are the best reason for the classic soda package.
We’ve got our son the soda package for our sailing on Symphony this year. He’s going to love it and the machines are great (I got the soda cup with the drinks package on a couple of cruises). I have to have my root beer as you can’t really get it in the UK.
The price for stuff on Royal changes all the time - and it will be different from cruise to cruise. Don't wait till last minute or wait to buy anything on board. Log in and check the price on holidays (Easter and Memorial day are both coming up!). For me, it's currently coming up as $10/day per person. I got it a bit cheaper ($9/day) on this past Black Friday for my next cruise on Royal. I hope that helps? The cup is yours to keep! I use mine all the time still lol
Hi Lauren I noticed that you had your seapass card when you got your cup. Are you able to get soda in that time after you board but before your room and seapass cards are ready?
First time on RC 4 weeks from now. Bought the refreshment package. Was wondering if there is a buffer time between refilling? (Was told 15 mins) but assuming you have the latest video on this that you might have a better answer. Thanks
I was unaware of that myth and didn't have that experience. I was able to fill it part way, let the carbonation settle and then finish filling with no problem. So as far as I can tell there wasn't a buffer time.
If you have the package on your account, you can get sodas without bringing the cup with you. If you don't have the package at all, you can pay for sodas anywhere, except at the freestyle machines. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question.
@@laurenofalltrades Thank you for the quick reply... I'm really asking if you can still get sodas (say with your meals) if you DON'T have a drink package..?
@@Ghosted760 Oh gotcha! Yes, of course you can get sodas without a package. You just have to pay for them :) I'm not sure what the cost is. $2-3/ soda probably?
Anyone have any idea how big the cup is ounce wise? Cruising in September and I'd like to buy a carry strap but feel hesitant because I can't get a grasp on the size I need...thanks in advance!!!
Yes! If you have the soda package, you can get anything available from the Freestyle! I just really like Diet Coke lol 😆 I think that without the package, the only thing that works is ice.
Correct. If you don't have it with you, you can't use the Freestyle machines, but you can get sodas from any bar, they'll serve it in a regular glass. You don't have to tell them you have the package, it will be on your account.
The Freestyles wont dispense if you don’t have the cup. In restaurants, the buffet, and a few places around the ship you can find hot/iced coffee, hot/iced tea, lemonade, and water. At breakfast they have apple and orange juice instead of iced tea and lemonade.
To use the Coke Freestyle machines, you have to use the cup they give you. The machine won't work with any other cup. I didn't find it to be that inconvenient personally. And if you don't have it with you, you can still get sodas in regular glasses/cups from the bars.
You can get cups of water from the buffet or other spots with drink stations and put them into your water bottle. If the opening in the bottle is skinny, you might be limited to using your bathroom sink - which I’ve certainly done and the water tastes fine to me.
Thanks for sharing, that's very good to know! Is it literally 3 machines, or more machines located in 3 places. That doesn't sound like enough for that many guests!
Nice video, I have one question: does the "everybody in the stateroom must buy it too" rule for Deluxe Package apply for Non-alcohol packages?

Thanks for the info! I was all about the Diet Coke. I like Carnival a lot, but hate that they switched to Pepsi a few years back.

I was so glad I bought it. I love Coke Freestyle machines! Sometimes a lot of the syrups were out, but then I just picked something else :)
How much is the package and do I have to return the cup when my cruise ends?

Great video, so informative! 👍♥️
Doesn't the refillable cup get nasty after a few days? Is there a way to wash it out?
I rinsed it in the sink in my cabin. There’s also water on the Freestyle machines that could be used for rinsing.
Thanks for watching!
I took a 1 ounce container of dish soap and rinsed in our cabin
So you have to carry the cup around the whole time? That's super inconvenient.
It didn't bother me most of the time. You're also able to get soda from cocktail servers and bars if you don't want to carry the cup around :)
Hi Lauren
I noticed that you had your seapass card when you got your cup. Are you able to get soda in that time after you board but before your room and seapass cards are ready?
You should be able to show your boarding pass for this or for any purchases you want to make before your cabin is ready.

Can you still get a soda/s in the free restaurants, if you DON'T have the special cup from the drink package..?

Does it had water included?
Not bottled water. You can get filtered Dasani water from the machines with your cup.
