Isn't it? I think we all have a sense of just how strong German Shepherds are both in body and spirit, so to see such a big man - clearly in his prime - laid so low by one tick bite is truly terrifying. If I lived on the Gold Coast (and I am doubly glad I don't, I'd never survive the heat) I'd have to have hairless dogs, and I'd be checking them constantly!
@@Moona1966 I was thinking the same thing. When I lived where my cats and dogs were exposed to ticks, I used that stuff religiously on them every month.
An INFINITE NUMBER of thank yous to ALL the staff at emergency vet centre!!!!!!! The animals would LITERALLY BE TOTALLY LOST without you!!!!!! I LITERALLY canNOT EVEN BEGIN TO EXPRESS JUST HOW GRATEFUL AND RELIEVED I AM that Boston's alright!!!!!!!
So happy to see Boston go home. Your whole team are amazing. You all really care for your patients it's not just a job. Thank you so much for all you do. I am a animal lover and I have to say I've seen some of your episodes that had me in tears but this one was a happy ending. ❤
Boston is brought back by his doctors .... It's a great relief to the souls of the viewers .... They cannot speak human language to tell about their sufferings .... So doctors r the god for the animals.❤️❤️❤️
My Dad's German Shepherd was very good with children. When my toddler tried to walk off the end of the driveway, which was a small cliff, she got between Shannon and the cliff.
My childhood dog survived four separate run-ins with a paralysis tick within a five year period. He'd tell us he was feeling sick by barking at us and then leading us to the lounge so we can look at him.
wow! what a clever a clever dog. my dog had teeth problems and has had lots of teeth removals with only a few left but is doing great. i am glad he survived that illness :)
@@savs1692 My parents' dog has very little teeth. We rescued him at 6 months old and he had such bad gum disease that we had to get half his teeth removed. Some more fell out years later due to his inability to chew bones, advancing age, and "dental chews" that never helped. He's 14 now; going blind, persevering in the face of chewy food, and sleeping all day.
I have a German shepherd and he has suffered from tick fever several times and it was quite severe. I almost cried after watching the condition of Boston😢😢. I didn't knew that a tick can cause harm to such an extend. Thank God the boy recovered and healthy again. 😇😇😇God bless him.

I never knew a tick can do that much damage. My son bought my dog a collar I can't think of the name of it, I have COPD pretty bad and couldn't walk my rescue pomeranian. I'm so thankful my son was able to take my Manny.
I investigated these type ticks in our area after watching Bondi Vet. I was surprised to learn we have paralysis ticks here in the northwest of the US. I'm glad I treat my dog with tick meds regularly. We hike the woods daily here in Oregon. PS: Oh, Poor Boston! That hair cut is brutal! Damn!
Be careful, tick medication doesn’t always help with these type of ticks. My dog had one and the vet said there is no way to prevent them besides check your dog daily.
He's so cute without his fur! Its amazing what lil things we appreciate when our loved ones become ill. Take the triumps, even if they come in the form of pee! I'm happy to see him going home!!🌻💙

So good that she found the deadly tic - IDT this good vet should have removed it like that with bare fingers in the clinic , and, held it in her bare hands. My heart was breaking for this dog and loved ones. This vet's thoroughness was tremendous 👏
Had a Tom cat w artery blockage, couldn’t use back legs. Was way back 45 yrs ago, had to drive him 1 1/2 hr to Atlanta. Surgery, dragged himself thru the house & recovered. I miss him, my Kitty Barnes. Always into mischief.
