So savage's marketing video said made in "America", this video says made in Canada, and it somewhat looks like it might be made in Turkey. I wonder what's up.
Canada is in America. North America. The Lakefield plant already produces most of their better 22 rifles. Turkish walnut does not mean made in turkey, or at least I hope not
Considering most browning and Winchester lever actions are made in Japan, Portugal and Belgium, this is the only North American made repeater short of marlins and Henry I can think of except those are 4-5 times the price
Yeah when he said Turkish wood I thought for sure It was going to be made in Turkey, but then he said made in Canada so I have some hope. Hopefully it's made in Canada and not just assembled in Canada.
I'd pay $650 for all steel rifle but for the price it may make a pimple on the great Marlin 39's butt. It would not be able to even touch the magnificent Savage 99. I guess machined and forged steel is gone in rimfire firearms.
@@CCH-R You do not know what you are talking about. You ever did gunsmith work on a Henry rimfire? It is not near as good as their centerfire rifles. Henry Rimfires has pot metal receivers.
@@toestr2120 they litterally said in the video that they're using turkish walnut for the wood and if you look at the shape of the receiver it's the same as the fake Winchester
Savage along with Winchester and Marlin are the foundation of American lever guns. If they want to do something Great a bit of re engineering the Savage 99 to be efficiently built with CNC numeric machinery would benefit both Savage and Us in bringing back a True Legend l. . The Rotary mag and perhaps takedown offerings would really seal the Deal. For modern shooters to buy a 120 year old design in say 284 Winchester and be able scope it and it be a modern sub MOA rifle would be the Coolest. All the History of a Marlin or Winchester but in a rifle that can shoot accurately at 600 yards all day long. Similar to a Browning BLR. But in the Handsome old Savage 99 profile. Perhaps Savage could also introduce several rounds based on the 284. There’s already a 6.5/284, a 358/284 would be Great for Elk, Moose and the big Bears. A 338/284 would have a bit longer range. They could be called a 338 Savage and 358 Savage which could be capable of the over 4000 ft lbs of 35 Whelen. With the explosion in lever actions these days the time is really Ripe for this. This Rifle MADE Savage. Welcome back our Old Friend.
Broke down like an AR style rifle. As long as the tolerances don't get too sloppy then they got one leg up on Henry which on their 22's they have four receiver side screws and a tang screw that needs to be removed to access the innards
Yes, like all voices say” Bring back quality AMERICAN made and bring back the model 99. We are getting terribly tired of cheap plastic garbage or garbage made in turkey.
This looks to be a cut above Rossi and Henry in the same price category, and a handy takedown system with threaded recievers, happy to see it. Honestly pump actions are kind of awkward compared to levers, the likes of the old steel gallery guns, especially the 1890/90/1906 will never be made again

I would love it if Savage would bring back the Model 99
100%
They won't and they'll cry like a sissy when you ask
Exactly what I came into the comments to say.
Truth
Model 99 please
Next, a new 99!!!!
If they build it the same way as the original and in America it would cost about $2,000 .
@@jasonfowler210 it definitely doesn't have to cost that much just because slave labor isn't building it
i wish they would make the savage/stevens model 30 single shot rimfire falling block again. especially in 17 hmr!!! I would buy one!!!!
Great to see the Indian Chief Logo coming back.
Awesome I love savage arm and been wanting a lever gun got to get one of theses now

If the take down pins are that easy to push then there will be some frame shake at the lever from loose tolerance.imo
How the fuck do you know that?
Time will tell but the halves fit together very snugly.
Some of the old pump actions have much less support in their takedown design than this does
I'll have to get me one of those. I'm a big fan of Savage.
@@scenicdriveways6708 but it's not Savage
Hopefully they won't have issues like my 4th and most expensive Savage did. Kind of leary about buying another one because of this.
Looks awesome, but it needs to have a factory threaded barrel
Elimination of the barrel band alone is worth the price of admission! When is 22 WMR version? Stainless? 👍
Somehow I missed that until I poked through the parts list in the manual, wonder if they are swiveled dovetails like all the old Winchesters
Made in Canada! Thank you Savage

Sweet
Bring back the Model 99. We will pay the money.
Savage should come out with model 99 with steel action nothing beats that lever action.

Much more compelling than the Turkish made Winchester.
I'm sticking to my Henry
Over priced is all Henry can say for their firearms.
39a here

Why only 12 shots when Henry , Rossi , Winchester and Heritage have 15?
got to get one

You want a Ruger 96/22.
Otherwise you would have to remove the suppressor to load the magazine
Make a 30-30 side loader
Too bad about the safety on the side.
FCS why don't they thread the barrels on these? Most American gun owners live in Red Constitutional States. Thread the barrels please!!!
