Being American is not about the blood in your veins, it's about the heart that's pumping it. It doesn't matter where your from or what you look like, you can be born with an American heart, or lack thereof, regardless of what anyone says. Those with American hearts are the ones who, like their flag, never truly retreat, because they believe that continuing on the never-ending journey towards the more perfect union that Thomas Jefferson described in the first sentence of the Constitution is worth it.

Not because it is a perfect nation - it is full of imperfect humans (to expect perfection is foolish), but because our potential is only limited by ourselves. Thank you to the heroes that made it great, and to those Americans still in the fight, have the courage to keep fighting for her. Patriots are never alone.

I'm sorry if this is isn't what you wanted to here, but don't join up, i signed up when i was 17, made the military my whole life, and made alot of great friends, and as soon as we got home, Our country stopped giving a fuck about us. The US government doesn't care about the conditions of vets as soon as we get home, alot of my buddies have killed themselves, and i'm worried that more will in the future. Don't join, the people pretend to care because it makes them feel like they're doing something good, but they don't hear about the what comes with serving, both emotionally and physically . I was born and live in Russia. But from early childhood it seems to me that I am in the wrong place. Listening to our politicians and I saw only their darkness. Everything seems alien to me in this country. Lack of a national idea and general idiocy. But again, from early childhood, I looked at the American soldiers, at the brave people of other professions and at the American flag with trembling in my heart. I even started to wonder who I was in my past life (if the theory is true) America is truly free of oppression. I am proud of my beliefs.
Coming here for July 4th, 2021. I'm definitely not disappointed.
