I suggest you live in Nasser city Fifth district is too far out and mainly it's families. In Nasser Ciry city you would see more young students people like yourself more action, and cheaper. Do you drive?

OK, I see that is what the 2nd apartment unfurnished costs: 17,000 Egyptian pounds = $356 USD 35,000 Egyptian pounds = 734 USD. That is too high. When they hear American accents, the price automatically goes up on the spot. I saw a video of a nice, but TINY 1 bd/1ba for $187 USD, which sounds more like it. It was on the top floor with a wraparound balcony, partial view of the coast, a rooftop deck across the hall, a secured elevator and a very nice lobby.
That's not always true. This area in Egypt is called The Fith Settlement in New Cairo, one of the most expensive parts to live in. There are many other areas where you can get apartments for much cheaper but not here.

I have a girlfriend who lives there and her apartment was 350 for two bedrooms...you have to have a hook-up there...I live in New York and I have met Egyptians that have told me if I want to visit that they have people who can show me around and help me find an apartment...you have to connect with people who can help you find more reasonable prices when apartment hunting
This is my third year here in Egypt and I can tell you that the market value of almost everything in Egypt has increased dramatically over the last 3 years. Yes you can find apartments for very cheap. But more than likely the quality and location of these places are not that of places like this. There are options to fit pretty much any budget here. In this video, I choose to show the more higher end area. That's all. It's nonsensical to believe that the entire country of Egypt is going to have the same standard of living. Thank you for your concern. Inshaallah I will do some videos showing lower budget places soon.

Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatu. No, this is not true, akhi. In general, everyone is safe, and things are ok. Those cases that you heard about are exceptions to the rule.
There are a lot of solutions that doesn't cut off. The problem is with electricity it might cut off 1 to 2 hours a day, however you can overcome this by living in a gated community, some might install generators to pick up when it is off from the grid ( need to ask for that specific detail )
The wifi is generally good. But there are power cuts every day for about 2 hours. So that may cause a problem. But you can also invest in a wireless router for those moments.
Bro I lived in Egypt for so many years and now live and I also lived Nairobi blv me you can come and visit Kenya but it’s way too expensive then Egypt with poor quality
Full houses aren't very common here tbh. But it would depend, most single family homes I've seen here are more luxurious type properties like villas and mini mansions.

As salaamu alaykum yeah they really over charging in the 5th settlement 15k for unfurnished nah and 35k for furnished they trying to over charge the foreigners because the economics in egypt don't dictate or support those prices. the average Egyptian with a real good job and educated could not afford those prices. They just like yeah someone from america or britain gonna cash out on it.
