    I got to meet Bruce Campbell at a book signing for his book "If Chins Could Kill". Super nice guy. Very humble. Took his time to talk with every person in line. Took hours. Signed my book "Shop smart, shop S-Mart"

    • @TheMsLourdes
      @TheMsLourdes หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      At a signing once I brought him the autograph policy from his website to sign. Back then the policy was that he didnt do autographs because they were so impersonal. Once the rest of the crowd had found out what my plan was, I had quite the following when i brought it up to him. He laughed like a little kid and signed it as requested taking a few minutes to explain why he didn't like to sign things and having a grand time doing. In the end my friend steve got the signed policy which read "To Steve, Am I Right ? -Bruce"

      @@TheMsLourdes I totally get it, given his reputation. He's very much the kind of person who'd want to somehow find something more meaningful to share with literally every fan, even if it meant exchanging personal anecdotes with everyone. It's... Frankly idk how he does it. 😂

      I also had him sign my copy of "If Chins Could Kill" at a book signing. It was poorly organized and the store was hot and we were all waiting in line and people were getting grumbly. He grabbed a copy of his book and stood on a chair and read a bit to us until things got organized. When it was my time to sign he was super cool. He chatted a bit, asked me about what I was doing in college, etc. I came away from the experience a bigger fan of his than I was before I went to the signing.

    The best part about Ash's descent into badassery is that it's 100% caused by his complete detachment from reality. Like, a sane person doesn't do the things Ash does because they don't believe they can, or because they're too fixated on logical things like being scared. Ash has been so traumatized and put through the ringer that he's just doing his own thing and is beyond the point of caring.

    • @LA_HA
      @LA_HA หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I always thought the same, but the other way around. Ash isn't ashamed to be scared and react because it's how he survives. He knows he has amazing instincts, so he trusts them.
      But I definitely like your idea, too

    • @Sandblstr
      @Sandblstr หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah in the series you can see him drop his front a few times and see behind it he's still very much the shy guy that we were first introduced to. Midway through Evil Dead 2 he's at his lowest and after his breakdown he gradually built himself his new persona to survive it all.

    • @TheTurinturumbar

      Logical things like being scared? I don't think you know what logical means.

    • @LA_HA
      @LA_HA 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheTurinturumbar In this context, it's correct. The thread op is saying that most people wouldn't think to do what Ash would do because instead of doing illogical things like he does, they're doing what we would consider logical, which is being scared. In that being afraid is the logical thing to be simply because Anyone would be too afraid to act or think.
      That's all

    • @TheTurinturumbar
      @TheTurinturumbar 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@LA_HA No. Natural does not equal logical. Fear is a natural reaction. It has nothing to do with logic. What he does is logical, when in danger any action beats inaction brought on by fear. Yes, even the wrong action beats inaction because at least you did something that could've had the potential to save you instead of just trembling in place over a urine puddle with death assured.

    Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick (PS2, Xbox) takes place after the 1st game.
    Evil Dead: Regeneration (PS2, Xbox) is more of a What If? sequel, as in what if Ash never went back in time? That one is a great game, love it! 🙂

    Peter Jackson, Director of the Lord of the Rings movies, was a huge fan of this movie. He actually lifted two scenes from this and put them in The Two Towers. First, he copied the scholar putting the gunpowder over the flame to look at it. Worm Tongue does with same thing with the Gun powder Saruman was making. The second scene was when the archers were lined up on the castle walls. One loses his nerve and shoots early. The same thing happens in the Battle of Helm's Deep.

In Marvel Zombies vs Army of Darkness, Zombie Sentry knocks him out of Heaven and his alternate gets his brain eaten by Zombie Howard the Duck. Even when he escapes that Universe he finds himself Marvel Werewolves.

    In our lab in Connecticut, we had an undergrad named Mark who was incredibly tall and thin. My friends used to enjoy wrestling for some reason, and they would delight in tossing Mark around like a rag-doll.
    When this movie hit the theatre, all of us went to see it. During the battle scene, when Ash broke the skeleton over his knee, my room-mate yelled out, 'Hey! It's a whole army of Marks!' We all laughed, including Mark, who was the pretty good sport about the whole thing.
