    Have always and still enjoy your brilliant channe. Fantastic to see you making a steam engine again. I made my first from a set of your castings, which still works superbly. Thank you for sharing you talents with us over many years now.

    That looks excellent! I’m presently trying to make an “Ellie”, and have been looking at the de Winton. You’re way in front of me!! And much more skilled. Thanks. Hope to see more of your build of this engine. Les

      @@myfordboy It was because of those videos that I decided to give it a go. Never made a steam engine or any kind of loco before. Thanks for the Cracker, Ellie, and now the de Winton videos, they help a lot. Les

    Nice vid as always. I'd be very curious to see your cylinder head/block and the porting/routing you used. I built a twin cylinder, double-acting engine (reversible too) with a (roughly) wobbler design similar to yours based somewhat on plans and somewhat on my own design. I dont really have any desire to build another but I'd be curious to see how you did yours. Keep up the good work!

      I don't have plans that can show this but the steam and exhaust go up from the bottom via my reversing valve. The valve is very similar to a piston valve. In fact i scaled down the one I used on this design:th-cam.com/video/_krGKdq1S-o/w-d-xo.html

    For small engines such as this one, does it make a difference what metal is used for the cylinders? I am wondering if the difference in mass between steel,brass or aluminum would make any difference in how the engine performs.
    Thanks for sharing your extraordinary talent with us.

    • @myfordboy
      @myfordboy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brass is the best choice for the cylinder as steel and aluminium could corrode with the steam.

    Long sleeve knit shirt working at the lathe? Even that little one can break bones. A big one will kill you if you get caught. Seen it with a 15 hp drill press. Guy was lucky, got away with only 4 breaks in his forearm.
