People are saying it’s good, thanks. I watched Runaway Train (with Bunker cameo) and I can’t imagine anyone playing a convict better than Jon Voight, and that story and philosophical analysis were epic!
If you like gritty crime films Straight Time is one of the best. Though a good adaptation I look at the two as different stories so I wouldn’t let the cast or anything else stop you from seeing it
I still haven’t given Straight Time a watch but I did come across Runaway Train (co-written by Bunker) and it’s one of the best films I’ve ever seen! Jon Voight’s acting is realistic and the themes are brilliant as well played out.
@@CristianSAluas Great flick I enjoyed it too. It’s Danny Trejo’s first appearance on screen thanks to Bunker. There’s a cool backstory about that. I think Animal Factory is really good too though I haven’t read the book yet
@@markjuarezmma oh cool. I don’t remember Trejo in it. The editing of of Runaway Train was also ahead of its time for the 70s, I think. Animal Factory’s on my reading list too. They made a film of it too, with Trejo, Defoe, and directed by Steve Buscemi. But I’d rather read the book first. Possibly compare after.
@@CristianSAluas Trejo was the boxer early in the film. He and Bunker had done time together and Bunker invited him to the set and got him a job as an extra. The director saw him with his shirt off and loved his look with his tattoo and gave him a bigger role as the boxer. I think Runaway train was later in the 80s and animal factory was in the 90s and yes awesome cast also with Edward Furlong and Tom Arnold as well
@@markjuarezmma I found this clip of Bunker. Not sure if you saw it. Now I am anxious to read more of his adventures. th-cam.com/video/UU7QJpsCGmY/w-d-xo.html
