why is this unexpected? We have a woman who studied slavic literature in university as the finance minister. We have been doomed since the beginning.
Wow, yeah this is TOTALLY shocking and unexpected given just how amazing our Gov't is!!!
I cannot believe after creating so many gov jobs we are still going downhill. BIG SHOCK
Well its on Canadians too. We have the internet, we can see how europeans get their society which is more productive with less chronic burnout and better paid time off by actually doing something. We can talk to boomers about how they actually cared about their living standards and using democracy and civil society and even unions where it worked and doing something. Thats the key, actually doing something. This is on you Canada. You seem to have stopped caring, and now we have stagnant economy where business and workers are not benefiting. Do something if we want a good economy and way of life for business and employees as in the 1960s and 70s.
When you focus on wealth redistribution rather than wealth creations, sooner or later everyone will be out of a job.
In case you havent noticed, middle class income have stagnated for 4 decades. Where do you think all that economic growth went too? There need to be major changes when even the middle class cannot afford housing, to enjoy life, or even start families. Wealth creation is important, but what use is it when the people creating it are not rewarded or get better a quality of life? I know if may be hard for you to believe, but decades ago it was possible for Canadian professionals to not have to live with roommate late into their 30s or 40s and to survive without having to do multiple jobs. Maybe that is why productivity has stagnated, maybe thats why chronic burnout is so bad, maybe thats why so many people who worked are homeless or live in Rv parks on the side of highways. Thats what happens when the needs of the ultra-rich are prioritized over those who actually drive the greater economy. Inequality does happen, but its important not to forget those who actually do the work to make our society run.
@@abcdedfg8340 can't really see where you are going with this argument. It seems you are either a liberal or NDPer. But I like to remind you that when I bought my house 12 years ago, I paid $338,000, which is just 2.25 times my annual income. Now the house is worth $1.1 million, and my pay is just slightly less than $200k. So what I am telling you is that income has barely gone up but home prices have quadrupled. Whose fault is it? Trudeau. He is the reason home prices are so high driving the middle class into poverty.

Unexpected? With Trudeau, Freeland, and Macklem? Are you kidding??? This might be the tip of the iceberg.
Haters conveniently forget that after the pandemic Canada had one of the softest landing and fastest economic recovery in the world
Some are delusional. These Liberal policies are about to bite us big time !
@@bdegrds Pandemic of lies, and bio weapon "vaccines"?
@@bdegrdskeep voting Liberal. How about we paid for that by doubling the national debt. Sounds great to me
@@bdegrdsAnd?
Liberal keeps saying Canada economy is strongest in G7. Canadians like WTF 😂
Well, if less Canadians have jobs and pay tax, Freeland will have no options but to hike the taxes on those who still have jobs
Bring in some more TFW's that'll surely fix it.
Unexpected???
When the Federal gov't stops hiring................
Pump more in the housing market.
Fyi they also said real estate was fine and going to be fine for the last year..... I guess more surprised people coming right up!!! Lol lol lol
How come normal people can see all the crap going on and professionals can't. Maybe dishing out B. S. You start believing it. Trust me. The other classes aren't buying it.
Wow, I'm so shocked...not. Depression baby!
how is it 'unexpected' when it's literally the desired outcome and orchestrated to be as such?
its not unexpected is it?
Everything going up except our wages. Even profits are going up. Wages are 👇 down
Time to change that. How many Canadians do you know that are just accepting this decline, or are willing to make the changes so we can have a better future for employees and employers? Boomers certainly knew what to do. Europeans still do what is needed. When will Canadians start making these positive changes? Do Canadians care enough about their own lives, or are they too timid to do what is needed for a productive and prosperous economy with work-life balance? Its really up to them, they seem to have have stood by silently accepting a cost of living crisis for decades while wages stagnated. So maybe Canadians need to get up and do something? I am so tired of Canadians just giving up, they seem to have just given up for decades, and it just got worse. Just my opinion.
Why is this a surprised when you have business experts all over media saying they are getting all their money out of canada
Oh I totally did not expect that, I thought because of the great work liberals have done for the country giving refugees millions instead of the public sectors I thought our job sector would be thriving
DId it ever occur to anyone in the comments section that the problem is not just Trudeau? Its us Canadians. Who was silent for decades while housing costs spiralled out of control while wages stagnated? Its almost like many just stopped engaging in their democracy even outside election time. In France and Germany, they still care and workers are treated with decent wages and decent work life balance. Boomers cared, they got decent wages and a great middle class economy that we are still surviving off. We can have a better future with better productivity, more business, and work life balance, but Canadians, you have to start caring and not just sitting around silently like so many of you seem to have done for decades while this crisis grew. Its your country, and its your responsibility to help keep us on the right track. Or you can run away form the situation you created by doing what seems to be nothing. Just my opinion.
Unexpected? LOL
To slow down inflation interest rates are raised, which slows or shrinks job growth. This in turn shrinks demand, combatting inflation. Expected result.
On Friday’s I like to eat breakfast and lunch out, hit the coffee shop, fill my car with gas and buy a pack of smokes.
It’s Friday and the amount I’ve spent today is insane. It’s absolutely insane.
Every tax hike is a missile blowing up the economy and we just had a huge one from Justin
Unexpectedly? Yeah right
Shocker!
Get used to it.
Only shocking to Justin Trudeau fans. All 3 of them.
Well I guess we can get rid of all the temporary immigrants driving... because I'm going to need a job soon and I like to drive
Let us make loblaws, air canada, and another bunch of monopolies great again AND BECOME MORE INCOMPETENT THEN IT WILL BE MORE UNEXPECTED.
Rate cut yeah become more irresponsible then we can crash and burn further.
For god sake don't compare canada to us canada Is a resource based economy. While us leads in all fields I mean dominates .
Deregulate if it is not too late.
Lol.
Unexpectedly.
Yeah, sure.
If you did not expect it, it is because you vote Conservative.
To not see how Conservative premiers were making doing business nigh on impossible, is to be criminally ignorant.
No, ignorance is not a crime in Canada, but I think it should be when Conservative politicians are the issue.
Thank you, Trudeau voters!
Hah, so un expected😂
