Not only is this fly a fun tie, it is also a great fish catcher. The basic tying is not at all complicated once you've tied it a few times.
It is particularly deadly when fished on a short line, thin leader and heavily on the bottom.
Hook: Knapek G #10, with added sticky back led foil.
Tail: Partridge plume feather.
Gills: Natural ostrich herl.
Body: Nymph Skin natural.
Legs: Golden pheasant tail fibres.
Markers used: Tiemco Dark Brown and Yellow Olive.
Give it a try - you'll not regret it!
You cannot improve upon perfection. Oliver's tying is perfection.
Great ty! Tight lines🦟🐞🐛!!!!!
Wow!!! Gorgeous fly!!! Brilliant use of materials. This is one fly I definitely want to learn. Thank you for sharing.....
Beautiful fly! Well done. Just like Oliver Edward´s pattern.
Nice Pattern.. I had a devil of a time with the first few attempts but now seem to have it to a science... Thanks!
Perfektné prevedenie hydroša.
For a "fiddley" pattern you play the fiddle well! 👏
Beautiful tie!! Awsome fly.. Thanks for sharing:)
I really like it!!!
Thank you for your kind comment!
nice fly for sure,,as all of his patterns are...but for me the beauty of the pattern was lost when u trimmed the legs to stumps..and the color at least where i fish is green not brown..
termite122 I know that's the idea of pulling at right angles to leave to tail fibres life like. Should be pulled back size first time.
You are a great flytyer. But whats's the worth of copying the well known video instructions of Oliver Edwards in an imitation of the Davy McPhails video's?
