The guitar is bad compared to the original, but its hidden by all the other sound effects. The cover is ok. The original is pure delight.
Original was against war at the time. This is a hollywood version that makes no sense.
@@guillaumemonette6611 for me the original is genius and has the originality's raw magic but this one is polished to perfection. I'm not a musician though.
I bet they must be, that's a pretty unique cover and most of us love it.
i think covers made by CoF are very very good and this is one of the best example.

There is so so sooooo much emotion in this piece. There are not many songs that resonate so deeply with me on an emotional level that they make me tear up, but this one gets me every single time. Everything about this song is perfect. But most of all, the guitar solo near the end. Utterly awe inspiring.
I love the original version and to be honest, I didn't expect this track to be that good. It's surprisingly well done. Great video! Kudos.

I'm a huge Anathema fan and this cover is brilliant!
Imagine being burdened with a aching black hole in your chest from the age of 6 and finally finding a way to fill or empty that void if it makes any sense. At the age of 13. To this day cradle of filth is my ONLY true relief. Everything else that does help is just a salve.

COF is one cool band.Even though I dont get it sometimes, it's over my head,I know.Dani is an unbelievable lyricist and the keys are perfectly placed.The band is truly amazing.
I would agree with your post, if it wasn't an anathema cover in the first place. Other than that, COF are pretty mediocre imho. (And yes, I'm aware I'm replying to a 2 yrs old post)

As a huge fan of early Anathema, this is really cool! Especially considering that COF used to open for Anathema in the early days. Nice tribute to a great era!
Still hits as hard over 2 decades later as it did when it was released.
When I discovered this track, I didn't know it was a cover. What a surprise for me to find that was a cover from Anathema but nowadays I still prefer this version.

I know the band only from ITcrowd, I love music and somehow I decided to start and listen to this piece, it reminds me a bit of my opponents from games after what I did to them but the second hearing is the third and I'm impressed by the awesomeness of the piece

As a great anathema fan, i could say way better than the original
Until today I had only heard Anathema's version. Now I heard this and I love it, this is so much better (Anathema's is also good, but this... Is awesome). And the video... Ear and eye gasmic song!
Saying this version is better than Anathema's is a heresy. It is a good version, but it can't be compared.

remember discovering 'midia' in a hastings... bought it because the album artwork, had to hope they didn't check my I.D. for being over 18.... proceeded to discover 4-5 more albums... this song was always an outlier for me from cradle albums of that time. (2000-2003)
