I found that if you take the float bowl off and use carb cleaner, bend the plastic red straw tube into the main jet. Get some good squirts and problem solved. No need to take the carb off.
Same make and model "start-stop" I found just removing the air filter, then blast air into the carb opening and clean the air filter with compressed air> hose and nozzle> did the trick.
I just watched this guy take his mower apart and put it back together and he didn't do anything and it didn't fix the problem or help me at all. 13 minutes i will never see again. hey earl, having a pair of pliers and a wrench doesn't make you a mechanic and this video makes you look like an idiot And Harvey i agree with you. This ethanol is the worst for small engine equipment.
Edwin Edmonds The thing ran when I was done and still runs. It had bad fuel and gum in the ports. I cleaned it. Same thing happened to me, the choke will not stay on if you have the red kill handle on like you did using the plastic tie strap. Which makes these Hondas hard to start. I noticed the choke lever drifting to the off position as soon as you placed on. It supposed to stay on until you squeeze the red handle. Hope this helps others!

Take off the white cartridge inside the carb run a thin wire through the little holes then spray carb cleaner in all the holes. Watch you don't spray in your eyes.
He didn't clean the carb properly he got it running by putting carb cleaner which rarely works this is not the way you fix a lawnmower with a gas issue
Mr. Apache I just had the same issue on the same model. We bought it 2 months ago, after running a mower for 6 years. It shouldn’t be broken. Also, it’s a good mower. Quality Honda engine, great power, and the first mower I’ve had that uses 10W30 oil. Also has an auto choke which is great.

He got lucky. He had a jet stopped up. Must not have been too bad, since priming the engine pulled whatever it was through.

I don't think you got it. The choke lever shouldn't move until you pull the control cable handle.
