Jokes aside covering walls is more important than most people think. Specially in anarchy modes. Forcing the enemy to stop and ink em for traversal, even if just for half a second, puts them at a disadvantage.

Tip that as worked for me: Pressure your opponents to not leave their base, sneak into their base everytime you can and paint and splat as much as you can so they'll have to deal with you more than dealing with painting, hopefully your team will either try to support you or paint as much as they can while you're playing as the bait

I also used to think inking walls was the secret to winning, but then eventually I thought to test it, and, in my experience, it doesn't seem to add to the point total. Sure, you might get a few points here and there, but that seems to be related to stray paint globs landing on the floor. A cursory Google search also states that walls don't count. What are you basing your assertion on? I'd love to be wrong, but I just can't find any evidence that walls do count.
@@daisyandbear it doesn't increase special either, so walls are only worth it if they actively serve a strategic value. (Which itself depends on your team's weapon composition)

splatoon 3 famously has the LEASt ammount of paintable walls in the whole series.
Scourge gorge turf with only paintable walls at the mid platform and sniper perch (the lower side areas of mid don't count, they serve no purpose)

An even better wall painying weapon than charger is a roller. But only when you use vetical flicks. With this tip, anyone can win turf war.
