YG is the safest place to debut a kid. They actually care about keeping kids as kids. I know minzy was lonely because she debuted that young with older girls but Minzy wasnt as sexualized as other idols who debut that young. Minors or Treasure are also very visibly sheltered way more than other agency minors.

Not going to speak for other ent agency, but for YG, GD debuted as a rapper when he was 13, Seungri was 16 when he debuted in Bigbang, Minzy debuted with 2NE1 when she was 14, Chanwoo debuted with iKON when he was 16, Suhyun debuted with her brother as AKMU when she was 15, then there are Haruto, JeongWoo and Junghwan in Treasure. Those are their debut age, not including when they started their career in the entertainment industry as child actor or join TV/competition program.
If you can start practicing for spelling bee when you were six years old, why not with dancing? Most professional ballet dancer started proper training before they were 10 years old. What about those young CEOs who started their company before they reached 16 years old? Talent, passion and dream has no age boundaries. Don't judge, criticize, and crush someone's dream just because they're deemed as not old enough to do so.
And if you watched YG Treasure Box, these middle-schoolers or younger still went to school, and they received different types of training than older trainees. They are blowing air with a straw into water bottle instead of forcing them belting their notes, they learned rapping like they were learning alphabet song in a fun way. They trained hard for their dream. They could give up and pull out like Midam and YG will just let them go as they wish. Don't compare them with a thirteen years old tweeting some nonsense while laying down on their bed.
And don't say "manufactured", they weren't molded like a barbie. They were being pushed to let out their best potential, whatever that is. Be it rapping, singing, dancing, or acting. If you have potential for three at a time, then why not?

      (1) A minor under the age of 15 (including any minor under the age of 18 who attends a middle school under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act) shall not be employed at any work: Provided, That this shall not apply to a person with an employment permit certificate issued by the Minister of Employment and Labor according to the standards prescribed by Presidential Decree.
      (2) An employment permit certificate referred to in paragraph (1) may be issued only by designating the kind of work at the request of the relevant minor himself or herself, to the extent it does not impede with the compulsory education.
      (3) If a person obtains the employment permit certificate provided for in the proviso of paragraph (1) in any false or other wrongful manner, the Minister of Employment and Labor shall revoke the permit.
*(Article 64 (Minimum Age and Employment Permit Certificate), Chapter V (Women and Minors), Labor Standards Act, Korea Ministry of Employment and Labor, 2021)

*(Article 70 (Restrictions on Night Work and Holiday Work), Chapter V (Women and Minors), Labor Standards Act, Korea Ministry of Employment and Labor, 2021)
      ----------
In short, don't worry about child labor. It's already written in Korean Law.
Again, not going to speak for other ent agency, but from Bigbang to Treasure, minors in YG still attend compulsory education after they debut, even non-minors still attend college (at their own will). Treasure's maknae (minor) didn't attend sendoff event on their own concert because it happened after 10PM local time (Japan), and was absent during Music Awards closing ceremony because of the same curfew stated by Korean Law and respected country's law.
Their well-being as children are well taken care of. Besides in-house gym and professional gym trainers to ensure their growth and physical health as children are well maintained, YG also provides therapist to help them with their mental health as children (even when they are still a trainee, provided the said trainee or artists give their consent for the service).

@@Glastika86 you must be completely naive if you actually think this is how it works. These idols literally spent most of the hours of their day at the company and what qualities as “working hours” becomes not that clear. If we took in consideration foreign children like Chikita it becomes even worse cause I doubt Korea’s jurisdiction will care about how many hours she spent getting “educated” at the company. A lot of idols who debuted this early have been vocal about how damaging it was for their mental health both in korea and internationally (Disney child actors). The emotional tool this cruel industry takes on these kids will only be noticed years down the line when it’s too late.

The thig with YG is: Rarely you see a trainee with little time AS A TRAINEE debuting in their groups. TREASURE as an exemple, some members had little time of training in the survive show YG Treasure Box, but the group debuted like 2 year after the show so they had at least 2 andhalf years of training. BIGBANG, Winner, 2NE1, Ikon, BLACKPINK, TREASURE and now BABYMONSTERS, the member train at least 4 years, thats why you see alot of polished idols since debut from YG, a bunch of agencys debut the member with less then 1 year of training and thats why today we have a bunch of LipSync.

Actually Dezzy…..it’s a norm To debut as young as 14-15…..Nothing new heck Boa made her debut in early 2000’s at 13 (she’s the youngest as far as I know)/ F(x) Krystal at 14, Taemin from Shinee 14, Hyuna 14yrs, Sohee from Wonder Girls 14yrs, Bigbang Seungri 15, Jisung NCT 14 yrs….BTS Jungkook 15 almost 16 when he debuted….people making an issue of this now when it’s been an issue since early 2000’s ….this age is the norm since then ….hell we have 4th gen similar debut age as well.

actually since the 1st gen idols had been debuting at young age idk why it’s a huge deal in 4th gen. & if idols want to debut at young age it’s their right to follow their dream since young age. In every gen of kpop the companies debut minors it’s been a normal thing y’all.

A lot of the idols you mentioned have been vocal about how debuting at such an young age was damaging to their mental health so it’s always been a problem and it’s getting worse considering there’s q 13yo child in this group. It’s literally child labor.

@@JoaoVictor-me8fq literally, people don’t get the point of this whole issue. Idols also debuted at this age before, but have voiced the problem with them basically missing out and facing the toxicity of the industry at a young age. Which is not something that should ever be normalized and in the 4th gen it is even more common than before.

Natural talent is a strange thing to think when watching “trainees”. Everyone whose called naturally talent had to put in hours of work to get to their level of skill. There really is no such thing as natural talent, you have to practice for it.

    • @evilman6761
      @evilman6761 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@kittiekatherine, If a person does not have an innate potential, then no amount of training will help to develop it. Otherwise, you could take any passerby from the street and teach him rap, dance and vocals.

@@evilman6761 but you literally could do that though. They even do street casting in KPop. Your describing what happens in the industry we’re talking about and then saying it can’t happen. When these labels literally take kids off the street and decide to teach them to rap, sing and dance over years of practice. How is it innate when some idols start at zero and have to work their way up. I just think it’s weird to be adamant about natural talent when referring to and industry that is known for training their acts. What your saying doesn’t make sense to me.
