I work in insurance and am impressed with you coverage! It was super negligent for David to not have ANY business/commercial insurance and there is no way a regular homeowner’s or umbrella would extend to an accident like this. I hope him and other influencers can learn from this.

because it's insurance, a claim would have had to been filed. so either they paid out already and now that the lawsuit has come to light, they're reversing the approval because it's still an ongoing claim, or david is trying to fight the outright denial of the claim

If you want to avoid getting sued, David and/or his company should have been extremely on top of any & all medical bills. By them just waiting for Jeff to send them a bill, or waiting for a call from him to pay for a medical expense is extremely time consuming if you are the patient & going through all the medical treatment. If David really had every intention of covering everything, he should have set up an account, given him a card, etc for him to put all medical expenses on.

I don't think that had anything to do with David. Alex was trying to clear poison oak from his own property, appeared to be by himself, and got the poison oak in his eye. Based on a video on Alex's channel from april. Not defending David at all just wanted to clarify that situation did not happen. I'm positive there are numerous other occasions of physical injury that occurred from his videos, not to mention more of it was psychological.

Our insurance company is good, never had issues with any of our claims. HOWEVER, State Farm sucks! An insurance company is not going to just give somebody seven figures. They would have to go to court and it would take quite a few years to reach a settlement that high. I was in a car accident and you get from the insurance company what they think your damages were worth. If Jeff was paralyzed, or had lost his life that might be worth six or seven figures but him having damage to his eye is not worth seven figures and I highly doubt he's been paid that much money.
Actually insurance in America works basically like they have an assessor of some sort (depends on what the damage is), they make an assessment and then say what they will pay. If you don’t like it, u can take them to court; for example, here we had a large storm. Damaged our roof. Insurance sent out their assessor, he concluded the damage was from the storm, sent his report to the insurance company, insurance said they would 100% cover it (within a reasonable price), just send xyz from the contractor doing the work and voila, they covered it. We didn’t have to go to court or anything. However, shady companies (like State Farm- don’t ever use them!) won’t pay and u have to take them to court. I’m not saying they should cover David’s thing, but here, they screwed over pretty much anyone who had insurance with them after the derecho. I would NEVER trust State Farm. They def aren’t “like a good neighbor” more like “like the Karen neighbor from hell” 😂😂😂

Our insurance company is good, never had issues with any of our claims. HOWEVER, State Farm sucks! After the huge derecho we had here a few years ago, State Farm refused to pay out what was owed. 99.9% of complaints about insurance related to the Storm were in regards to State Farm . I would never trust them (not saying they should pay in David’s case, but I wouldn’t trust them with 💩)

An insurance company is not going to just give somebody seven figures. They would have to go to court and it would take quite a few years to reach a settlement that high. I was in a car accident and you get from the insurance company what they think your damages were worth. If Jeff was paralyzed, or had lost his life that might be worth six or seven figures but him having damage to his eye is not worth seven figures and I highly doubt he's been paid that much money.
Actually insurance in America works basically like they have an assessor of some sort (depends on what the damage is), they make an assessment and then say what they will pay. If you don’t like it, u can take them to court; for example, here we had a large storm. Damaged our roof. Insurance sent out their assessor, he concluded the damage was from the storm, sent his report to the insurance company, insurance said they would 100% cover it (within a reasonable price), just send xyz from the contractor doing the work and voila, they covered it. We didn’t have to go to court or anything. However, shady companies (like State Farm- don’t ever use them!) won’t pay and u have to take them to court. I’m not saying they should cover David’s thing, but here, they screwed over pretty much anyone who had insurance with them after the derecho. I would NEVER trust State Farm. They def aren’t “like a good neighbor” more like “like the Karen neighbor from hell” 😂😂😂

I had seen that in a couple other videos on this topic! Either way… super interesting & State Farm is definitely not liable due to the nature of the video in which the accident occurred being a foreseeable risk & quite stupid 🙃

State farm isn't going to cover the accident. It covers an accident at his home...like someone falling in his pool for example. Not for a video with rented equipment off-site.
