Pardon my controlled crudeness but... Yer Work is F***ing Amazing! Knew it 30 seconds into the video...I look at a lot of art and work on YT 1 out of 50 are good Youmade my morning .And to quote the Irish poet laureate Seamus Healey Walk on air against yer better judgement.
First time hearing of and seeing Firelei Baez and we might be related so I have to do some research. I have too many cousins and I'm hoping she's one of them. Also I have to see her work in person.
The ideas are interesting but unfortunately the figurative work is very uninteresting to look at.. standard idealized non-bodies. I wonder why. She works with models but it might as well be a 3D print or a clip art silhouette. Feels like a missed opportunity for depth here.
When I saw her apron she used in painting, I’d thought she’s not an artist. Artists are usually too into their art and don’t care about paint on their bodies. Just my point of view.
Gotta say, somebody REALLY loves to hear the sound of her own voice... if you have to talk that much about the 'art' you create, then it has failed on soooo many levels.
After seeing her beautiful, breathtaking work.. all you got was her speaking about the work? Speaking about her work? Your energy is Yucky and not a fit for this beautiful environment and beautiful work.
