Thanks for addressing this because it was assumed hunger is gone and here I am a month after surgery hungry all the time. I am slowly learning my new body’s signal and how to address eating. I wish I would’ve found your channel earlier.
I’m so relieved that you covered this. I am 4 days post op and have excruciating hunger pangs in my new pouch. Not head hungry because I’m kind of feeling food aversion. These are actual “hunger pangs” in my pouch. I couldn’t find anything on the subject until finding this episode. It’s been distressing especially since I’m only allowed clear liquids. I hope you are correct and it does go away with the swelling in my case. Thank you so much for all of your informative videos.
I'm a month post-op and have been feeling hungry the whole time, even after eating. I hope this gets better, not fun and I'm losing slowly but doing what my doctor suggests.
I just got my sleeve done 2 days ago best decision of my life! I was only in pain during recovery but I was up and walking the very same day like if I never had surgery. It feels too good to be true to be honest. Ironically I was getting the hunger sensation and I thought it was because I wasn’t able to drink more than a few spoonfuls of broth without feeling full or irritated but this makes a lot more sense! Thank u!
@@nicolekear3911 yes they told me the same day if I’m a great candidate or not and I’m 5 months out and I feel amazing I’m 63 lbs lighter than my surgery date and 72 lbs lighter than my heaviest weight and I’m eating almost everything just in small tiny portions and in moderation. I was very normal the very next day I felt like I didn’t even have surgery other than my eating habits I suggest u go for it! It was the best decision of my life! 🙏🏻
@@MizzMuneca809 I meet all of the requirements have insulin resistance pcos. I am in pain most days. Back everywhere, I have weakness when I lift my arms, I used to be skinny until a few years ago. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING restrictive diets, just everything I can think of. Nothing is working.
This helps so much and makes sense. I actually been drinking coffee daily ( 4 oz of coffee plus non sugar non dairy creamer) and I had some spicy pumpkin chili and I also find myself skipping breakfast a lot. That was everything you mentioned. Yikes. Taking acid blocker tonight and will continue just as you directed. Thank you so much!!!!
I had the procedure last Friday and I laid in bed all day Saturday craving a heaping plate of loaded nachos. I’m still hungry but it seems like it’s more about craving than hunger. Five days since surgery and I had a bite of lasagna yesterday and a bite of chili today. Not much but enough to satisfy craving. Otherwise, I’m following the diet perfectly.
That happens to patients that don’t prepare. I was 52 days Sugar-Free when I had my first appointment with my Surgeon. The day of my Surgery, I was 156 days Sugar-Free. I did not get hungry. I’m 6 days Post-Op and still not hungry but about to eat some Plain Greek Yogurt so I can start my Multi-Vitamin with Iron Today.
I just had VS G, I never had any pain, about the food carving I didn’t had any, I’m almost 2 months after I’m not even hungry at all, I just eat 3 times a day, very little.
My name is Sydnee and I’m a 15 yr old girl and I think I may want to get sleeve but I’m scared and don’t know what to expect. I want to get better but I don’t want it to go wrong because I’m so young. I’m turning 16 in the next few month and my mom is getting it and she invited me to get it with her. I want to but I’ve never been under anesthetic or spend the night in the hospital or even had IV. Nothing not even stitches. I’m scared can you help me better understand.
I’m 7yrs post op. I’ve kept off 70kg, but it’s getting tough as my hunger (cravings) have returned. Would love to hear a video on avoiding regain. Ive gained 6-7kg, but since I was never really small I want to lose them. Feels like an impossible task.
Hi doc a quick question. After grastic sleeve how food does the new stomach hold.i think 2 3 ounces. If I'm right. Is this 2 3 ounces all day food or one sitting.Thank u😊
My mother had this surgery about a month and a half ago. I have noticed that she is not that hungry anymore but when she eats and takes that extra last bite she feels sick, (she cant burp, nauseous, or very full and uncomfortable). Will she react like this forever after eating or is this a matter of her learning when she is full and needs to stop eating sooner? Other than that she is very happy, loved getting the surgery done and she is doing great!
@Gabiela This is because she is over-eating. She is most likely experiencing The Foamies. Which is what happens when people who get the Sleeve over eat protein. That is why it is extremely important to follow the guidelines given to you by your weight loss surgery team. At a month and a half out from surgery the stomach is still so Raw..and not even close to being healed yet. No more than a half cup of food in total volume should be consumed at each meal. Also very important that food is chewed to a applesauce consistency to limit the amount of work the inflamed and raw stomach has to do to break down food.
You are the only Dr that gives me peace in the frustrating moments directly post op
I'm two weeks out and definitely feeling the hunger at certain times!!!!

I craved nachos, too! Was wondering if my electrolytes were off and I needed salt.
Had surgery 4 days ago and also want nachos today 😞
4 days post op.. I can't sleep on the 3rd day thinking of all the food 😅🤤🤤 now I'm home all the temptation..
How is it lately?

It's been 11 months since mine and I realised I can eat more and I get so hungry I don't know what's wrong
Is it OK to drink Dandellion tea/coffee right after 7 days post op
😊
I’m 6 weeks out and I’m always hungry. I couldn’t figure it out but I will contact my doctor:
I AM ALWAYS HUNgry 3 weeks out its so frustrating
I am 8 weeks out now, and I think I’m hungry too..
Drink Aloe Vera juice. You can get it from Walmart by the gallon. It will soothe the inflammation and it is filling.
@@chioj36 Me too. 😔😔
