We took a little time to record the Korg PA600 and Yamaha S750 as a direct comparison between these 2 great keyboards. Both products definitely have their strong areas but let us know what you think!

I preferred the Yamaha, but I imagine some tweaking of some of the sounds would help both of these keyboards. Both are nice!

Except nylon string guitar Yamaha is better. I know I play classical guitar.
They are not even close real sound maybe 30% or less.
But every time new keyboard gadget is published sound is better than previous models.

Aprreciate your hard work... i do prefer Yamaha 750 for tones and styles as i do have korg pa 600 in school... it does vary the need... 750 is quite friendly ...
On balance it has to be Yamaha. I don't know the price of either model, but to me the S750 seems to have the better overall tone. Can't wait to get down to Blackpool Road and try it out!
Thanks for your demo of the two. My preference is the Korg as I just like the sounds and styles which to me sound more realistic than the Yamaha which is still excellent. We all hear differently and it's bonus to have a choice of such excellent technology. Thanks again for all your effort.
The Korg seems to have a much warmer sound.

Especially korgs old model pa 50 was an amazing machine..but learning on it like studying a truck without drivers license ✌️🙂
Korg sounds look natural and smooth but Yamaha seems to be a little bit dry and unnatural but easy to operate. So i am decided to buy KORG Pa600!!!!!!!!!!!

Both are very good keyboards, it all depends which company you prefer

you cannot mix humans and neanderthalers... diifferent level. Korg is much better
I enjoyed the two keyboards. The string of the S750 is much better, the other tones are equivalent. Some styles are better in Korg, other styles are better at Yamaha, but both are good. The Modern Trance style are beautiful on both keyboards.
Korg sound is rich warm and expressive , Yamaha sound is just dry and sometimes annoying to the ear :) .

I tried the S750 this last saturday, try this korg in the same conditions on a lil' PA system (2x150w passive....same EQ/Vol) and to me the Korg sounded more "cold". The articulations details on sax/trmpets/flute/contrebass etc...sounds more "human" on Yamaha too. Drums has more "alive" on S750 too....Perhaps with more sophisticated PA system the difference can be thinner but to me, in a realistic situation I choose Yamaha!!!
KORG is the clear winner , although in some voices (such as harmonica) both are almost equal. But it seems like KORG has very pleasant, crispy, clear voices and YAMAHA a bit dull, and trumpet etc. sounds almost same as in their cheapest models.

Thanks for that nice and useful demo. From my point of view PA600 is the winner, sounds more deep and less"cheap" except for classical guitar and string.
In my humble opinion, the Korg beats the Yamaha in the sounds quality ;however, the Yamaha has an amazing styles. Korg is the best !! even though I have a Yamaha.

حازم الغامدي I just got the PA600QT and I have a PSR-S700. I just love the Korg, its so sharp. But the Yamaha is very user friendly.
Binara Karunanayake Korg has the sounds and international instruments/rhythms but they are really hard to learn. Especially if it is your first keyboard. It takes over 2x as long to get good with a Korg and all its functions.
+Sedona2014 Yes, but the main funktions are very easy. And I don't know what shall be special about QT, because you can detune every key in one octave if needed on the normel version, too. so you can get all kinds of temperatures and some arabic ways. The limit is it's the same for every octave.
well, the pa600 has a lot of Effekts, but I didn't tried to use them on the input. But I don't think you can record them.

It's really hard to compare since both of them are so powerful, but I feel that when it comes to sound reality Korg sometimes has more real sounds especially when they are used in Styles. However, I think Yamaha is more user friendly than Korg.... At the end of the day, I wish I could have them both :)

well, I think Korg is good only to play melody but Yamaha is good to play ritm.thanks for your show.I want to say I'm sorry if I can't write very well English because I've started to write and speak English recently.
The internals are almost exactly the same as the S910, however the S750 features better amplification and speakers but does not have the vocal harmoniser.

Полностью согласен! В стилях можно узнать знакомое еще по инструментам пятнадцатилетней давности смешение инструментов в единую ямаховскую кашу. Сдабривается это все уже набившими оскомину саундами ударных.
Корг сложен в программировании, меня это бесит. Но дружелюбную ямаху не взял бы, наверно. Хотя, надо самому щупать.
After playing those in a local music store I ended up liking PA600 more. IMHO the sounds are much cleaner on Korg, especially famous M1 Grand Piano with 2-stage sustain support. The accordion, clarinet, alto and tenor sax are also out of this world. Brass definitely better on Yamaha, although Muted Trumpet is also awesome on Korg. Arrangements and styles on both are excellent and reach. I still found Korg's style a little closer to reality, especially Movies and Broadway bank.
Oh, and quarter-tone can be emulated with foot switch. I haven't tried that one yet, but RTFM, it's doable.

Got to say as a Korg owner, I much prefer the Yamaha's styles, and the brass and wind sounds.

Honestly, with our own experiences in 22 years using Korg and Yamaha arrangers, Yamaha voting, practicality and the ability to interact with most of the live keyboard features make all the difference, Korg has great sounds, but Yamaha has Much more practicality, has evolved substantially since the Psr-s750 / 950, if we analyze without prejudice we will come to this conclusion.

Ребят подскажите, я на стадии покупки, какой аппарат лучше для создания музыки в стиле синт-поп, дарк вейв, техно денс, транс? (в пределах 50-70тыс руб за бу )
Я пока остановился на Roland fantom -6, YAMAHA PSR S670 и KORG PA600
Мне важно удобство создания музыки, интуитивно понятный интерфейс, ну и главное соответствие стилей и звуков аппарата указанным выше направлениям музыки.

I would go for the Korg, but it seems very complicated .
I am not fan of the yamaha styles.
But we can purchase more interesting styles later.

Wydaje mi się, że style ładniej chodzą na Yamaszce, a z kolei Korg ma lepsze brzmienia. Musiałbym chyba zagrać na jednym i na drugim żeby się zdecydować :)

Korg has a true professional quality for musical production.
Yamaha is The Best Always i used yamaha psr 510, psr 630, psr 2000, psr 3000, now i,m using psr s 950 it was nice with full of expansion packs so whatever styles or voice we can create and also use audio multi pads with more features, we can create any type of styles yamaha is always user friendly keyboard i must support for that yamaha is best and more features in psr s 970 and psr a 3000 waiting for more to come from yamaha music

I Love Korg, more than anything keyboard i know
today i have tested the PA600 and the PSR S750. I thought the Yamaha would be the better one but the Korg suprised me. I liked it way more than the PSR S750. The piano is finaly great and not thin anymore. They did a good job with the styes also. Yes for me i would go for the Korg. BTW What a fantastic GUI has the Korg. Great thoughcontrol too.

Korg's sound may appear more natural but yamaha has more live performance features and quick controls

Вообще мне нравятся верхние Ямаха PSR-ки, достаточно нормальный звук, интуитивное управление. Но здесь на солирующих инструментах Корг PA600 звучит явно лучше, чем Ямаха S750, более полнее по частотам (низы, верха) и ярче (без ваты). В общем же миксе (при игре со стилем) разница не очевидна, каждый звучит хорошо по своему. Ямаха, на мой взгляд, даже интереснее-насыщеннее, возможно, из-за других аранжировок стиля и лучшего сочетания голоса и стиля. Подытожив, как самоиграй - Ямаха лучше, если писать что-то свое - Корг предпочтительней.

Татьяна Киселёва последняя "ПСР-ка" сейчас это PSR-S950 (2012г.) звуки 62 S.Articulation, 23 Mega, 27 Sweet!, 64 Cool!, 39 Live!, 20 Organ Flutes!, а предпоследняя это PSR-S910 (2009г). Кстати, PSR-S910=PSR-S750 по звукам: 38 S.Articulation, 18 Mega, 24 Sweet!, 46 Cool!, 29 Live!, 10 Organ Flutes! - одинаково у обеих
Астемир Парфенов Труба на Корге намного лучше, а стринги лучше на Ямахе. И вообщето был убежден что Корг выиграет по всем параметрам а получилось как раз наоборот.
+sleepy bubba, в ямахе соло инструменты хороши при игре под саму себя (выверены по частотам), при игре же ямаха + что-то, яма теряется (много обработки). В корге же, аранжировки беднее, но соло инструменты чище (лучше). Ямаха - если всё сам человек-оркестр, Корг предпочтителен в группе.

Ok so I'm a bit confused here. I haven't tried any of the instruments myself as my local music store doesn't carry them. From this video (and others) however I think that the Yamaha is way better when it comes to realism and human feel in styles as well as in sounds like piano bass drums and guitar. It would be interesting to hear in what areas you think the korg is better.

If the Yamaha is sometimes closer to the true sound of an instrument, sound of the Korg PA600 is much warmer. If I was to buy one of those two, I would still choose the KORG !

I have Yamaha psr series and use many of their psr keyboard for more than 5 years, but now I need to say that Korg sound is better and more rich. But in other case, I like how yamaha put a great and simple acces on their arranger so we can operated easily

One thing for sure, I like the organ on the Korg better...other than that, both sounds pretty similar
both are good. u just have to know wich kind of music u want to make/play and buy the right one, my fav is korg.. but i do love the old dx21 and dx11 too
Sounds and Styles are, definitively and with no doubt, much better in Yamaha PSR-S750.
PSR-S750 sounds more natural and real. The Yamaha Style Engine is light years ahead of PA-600.
Because this fight will take forever between this brands, even though many of us know actually which is better, but some people will never understand.

IMO Yamaha has always struggled when it comes to strings, Yamaha's backing styles are better though.
don't forget the relations. this is a 1000 euro key. pa is for the double price and so is tyros too. and the korg kronos (3000 to 4000 Euro) sounds really pretty.
They are both great, but the choice is on what kind of music u like. The voices of yamaha are great has some natural vibration, but the korg has great drums like professional drum machine. Also the Korg is recommended for those who like oriental music
In the UK the S750 is the more expensive product at just short of £1000, whereas the PA600 is around the £800 mark.
Alexey, eu nu sunt lautar si nu am lucrat cu nicunul din aceste doua branduri ci numai cu Roland (Fantom V-Synth GT)! Daca intr-adevar ai habar de ce inseamna sunet cu adevarat e deajuns sa asculti primele doua instrumente de pe ambele sintetizatoare ca sa-ti dai seama ca Korg suna mult mai realistic fata de Yamaha (vorbesc doar de aceste doua versiuni)! Cel putin pe Yamaha, viorile suna ca pe un sintezator de acum 15 ani! Nu vorbesc de sampler sau de memoria fiecareia ci doar de calitate!

Hi guys... i am now confused between Korg pa300 and Yamaha s670.. i am a beginner to keyboards and my ultimate objective is to create mashups and compose own music and then transfer it to the DAW in my pc to record my vocals ( in my home studio) and use my DAW for mixing to get the final output. I am also keen to learn how to make karaoke tracks myself ( instead of buying them online) so that I can record cover songs as well. Which of the two keyboards would meet that requirement.

Piyush Sharma I've also seen people saying that the sequencing and recording feature of Korg keyboards are way better than Yamaha's.
I badly want the Pa600 but the tight budget is what turn me down.
Joshua V John yeah i would have liked to go for pa600 too but considering the steep learning curve of this device and me being a newbie i didn't want to end up spending too much for something which in the worst case scenario ends up collecting dust. Yamaha's expansion manager is a very cool thing and even though Korg has styles to download from their website (for some reason the site only shows additional styles for pa3x, pa600 and pa900... there is nothing for pa300 which confused me more) but it's very expensive for Indian styles ($350.. that's like half the cost of the keyboard itself) so that makes me wonder whether these additional styles could prove it to be a very costly affair
Piyush, I guess Pa300 isn't mentioned there since Korg added PCM memory of 32MB just recently (Feb2016) and most updates in sites are way old like 2015 and 2014... That's just a MAYBE...
I'm gonna go to a store soon to find about the cross compatibility of Styles and Voices in them.
Piyush Sharma, if you are fully into DAW, then you can get some midi controllers. That would be the best choice.
Arranger keyboards like these aren't built to work with DAW but are built for Live, Onstage performances.
If you are not going to perform live on stage, and the keyboard is meant only for studio purposes, then Surely do opt for a MIDI controller.

S950 is definitely a big improvement over the 910 - the audio rhythms in particular are worth hearing but there's also a lot more super articulation voices. We have a great price on some refurb stock from Yamaha of £1400 inc. UK mainland delivery

That may be where you are my friend. But in the States. The PSRS70 is 1,199.99. The Korg is cheaper at 1,099.00. The PSRS950 is a pushing 1,899.99.

Sometimes Yamaha sometimes Korg. Seems to me that yamaha is less saturated and dry wich is better for me.
