New Riff was founded by the former owner of the Party Source. He sold to his employees and partnered up and now New Riff is doing good stuff. That Balboa Rye is awesome.
Abraham Lincoln is from a small distillery in KY called Boundry Oak. It's a great bottle of whiskey, we stop every time we go past. Also they have a Lavender whiskey that sounds disgusting but it is amazing.
You’re right. That does sound disgusting! 😃 But I’ll take your word for it and check it out next time. Looks like they make that 82nd Airborne whiskey too
@HOUSEBOURBON we did a tasting there a few years back and they were called different names. They were like army, navy.... but had to change cause the government didn't like it lol
Nice vid. Live just around a 1/2 drive from Party Source. Gotta get there again soon. The Oak and Eden, IMO, isn't worth it. More gimmicky with the wood spiral in it than anything. It's a $25 bottle at that.
@@HOUSEBOURBON The spirals in them are weird. I took one out of an empty bottle because I WAS going to throw it into an infinity bottle I had started, but it was like a Lincoln log and almost seemed like there was a "coating" on it to keep it from breaking down in the whiskey. Not 100% sure on that, but yeah. Nope. Cool looking bottle, good gimmick, but tried and really not appreciated.
I would have. Said it’s way over priced, but these days everything has caught up with it. Since it’s a 1 Liter and in a nice box if you can get it for $150 ish it’s worth a try. It’s not as good at the gold label SBBP. It’s definitely more oaky that other things. They route out groves in the barrel so there is more contact area with the wood. For me it’s a little over oaked.
The best regular strength Redwood Empire is the Emerald Giant rye, not the bourbon. If you don't like rye then there isn't such a draw. Stay away from the Oak & Eden - OMG those are the Spirals of Death. The Filmland looks like a gimmick, but give it a chance. You may be surprised. Rossville = MGP's (Ross & Squib) brand similar to Remus. Neil Geraldo is also married to Pat Benatar if you didn't know.
@@HOUSEBOURBON well the airport abbreviation is CVG which stands for Covington which was the biggest and most known city at the time of it being built, not Cincinnati. It's located in Hebron, Kentucky which is in Boone County, not close to Cincinnati, actually closer to Lawrenceburg Indiana than Cincinnati. Geography, it's pretty wild
@@HOUSEBOURBON I meant my comment all in good fun though man, I would never want anyone to take down bourbon content filmed in and around where I live. Video was great, if you come back this way you gotta check out Wunderbar on 12th Street in Covington, great homemade brats and sausages
@@SKATVonD420 haha. I only took it that way. I spend a lot of time in Cleveland. (Heading there tomorrow) and I’ve always liked Cincinnati better… and I worked it out. It’s cause it’s next to Kentucky 😂

What? You mean I said I don’t “hate” it. That’s correct. I dont find Pot still offensive. It’s just a bit floral. Willet 4 yr Rye tastes like chewing burning car tires. Completely different things.
@@HOUSEBOURBON paraphrasing but essentially you said you didn’t mind probably one of the most hated and dogged bourbons on the market (potstill) and then in less than a breathe trampled probably one of the truest forms of rye whiskey on the market. Found that to be quite hilarious.
Oh. Yeah. I 100% stand by that. Not saying the pot still is good by any stretch, but there’s something in that Willet 4 year rye. To me it tastes like burning rubber or chewing on a Band-Aid. I literally could not drink more than a couple of pours of it. But I think it’s like cilantro. Some people love it some people hate it. I’ve done a bit of research and I think it is a chemical that is found in ryes that if left to oxidize turns into a more caramel note. But the precursors can taste like garbage to one people and great to another. 🤷🏻♂️

New Riff is so good. Can’t wait till there stuff gets even older

Thanks you. Yeah I felt lees like a dick doing it too. Well it was over faster
Seems that the shelves are full of gimmicky well not the best stuff...nice bottles though 🤔 😖. Great video 😉👍🥃
Yeah there are some gimmicky whiskeys out there
That Augusta barrel proof...Yes.
Must try it now!
Great video. Would definitely pick up that Pursuit United!
Yes! I’ve been able to try there Double Oak Bourbon and Rye. And OhMyGud they are good!
@@HOUSEBOURBON I’ve tried them both and they’re fantastic!
Damn. I’ve been looking for that James E Pepper cask strength!!
There it was! I should be going past there Tuesday/Wednesday next week
That’s my home town
Lol, love Meat Canyon! Great video.

So I don't know what that one tasted like
I live less than 10 miles from Party source. I have spent way too much money in that place. They also have more beer and wine than you can imagine.
It’s one huge liquor store. Great selection on everything!
Great video as always
Thanks!
❤
I was really hoping they had a rum finished Peerless on the shelf.
No haven’t ever seen it. I’m going to look it up to see what it looks like
hope its better then voyage. you know what kind of rum?
No mention of type of rum barrels online.
That is a HUGE store!!
That’s what she said!

It’s an awesome store. Another issue would be it would get too oaky if you sat it for too long

love the videos. As a Jack fan, how do you rate the Sinatra? is it just a gimmick or much better than the single barrel select?

Whiskey aged on a boat?!? Outer space next 🤔😂
Just you wait. I’m sure Elon is looking into it 😄
good idea, but would probably raise the price a bit.
good vid
Thanks!

I did not know! 😮 I do like Rye. and that Emerald Giant is good. And I will give the Filmland a go now. Thanks
Frank August is great
I’ll have to give it a go.
Too fast; can’t see prices.
Yeah it’s real hard to go slow enough. And the yellow labels with black don’t show well. I think the “Pros” might use a better camera 🤷🏻♂️
you know you have the ability to pause and zoom
lol papa meat’s stuff is horrible
😁👍🏼
