This is my second camera justu.faith/pLumixFZ80 The first one lasted seven years and it finally had too many drops from my saddle bags while riding my horses. This camera is easy to use, great action photos, a wonderful zoom and is very durable!! I have small hands ands comfortable enough for me to use one handed while riding horses. I just took it on an eight day horseback adventure in Israel and dropped it at a full canter on hard ground. Not even a scratch!! It’s a great camera for the price!
I'm a tech geek but this camera frazzled my brain when i first had it!!! These videos help so much. Hopefully ill finally able to take an action shot which isnt blurry now. Sir, you are a hero!
Hi Graham, I upgraded from an FZ200 to the FZ330 a few days ago. Having followed your videos on the FZ200 back in 2017, I naturally went straight to your guides on the FZ330. I find them absolutely invaluable, not least because of all the myriad settings on the 330 compared to the 200. Thank-you so much for providing all these first-class guides with everything clearly explained with excellent examples.
%90 of the picks i take are of something moving, %50 of those are moving very fast (Merlin, etc). My Sony hx400v takes a great pic but needs an extreme amount of light at f6.3 full zoom to get a high shutter speed. So after some study i bought a used FZ200. I loved it! Then the dreaded "turn camera off then on again" i did and it actually worked, that was 5 months ago and it's still going strong but it scared me. I will mention i live in Canada and it was -10c that day. So decided i need a backup used FZ200. In the end i bought a new FZ300, what the heck i like hot dogs :) (i'm on a pension). This is an incredible camera for those on a budget who take moving subject pictures. I hit 1/10000 of a sec shutter speed with bright light in aperture mode f2.8. The thing about the f2.8 is the auto focus better be good, both are. I'm still learning about all that the FZ300 can do, your vids are a huge help. Thank you PS my Sony HX400v is making a clicking sound when it tries to focus, it still works good but i need a high zoom camera 50X or above so i bought a used FZ70, just waiting for it to arrive.
This is one of the best discussions of the subject I've seen yet (I started out with 35mm). This series has convinced me to buy the Lumix 300 partly because you make the information so clear, and partly because you obviously see this camera as worthy of using for this series. Thank you!
Hello Graham, Please accept my sincere thanks for the time and effort you have taken to provide myself and many others with the beginners series covering the Panansonic DCM-FZ300 camera. Prior to finding your excellent series I had struggled with the Operating Instructions and a couple of downloaded books. Most of this went over my head leaving me confused and overwhelmed and with a feeling that I had wasted my money buying this camera. Light at the end of a tunnel is a wonderful thing and my aperture is increasing daily! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Thank You so much - i finally understand why it's so important to focus 1/3 the way through the depth of field - I've been doing this for years but not really knowing why!!!
Thanks for the series. As a new owner of the fz330 I'm learning a lot about the camera. However I have recently moved to this camera from an SLR. I am familiar with program, aperture and shutter priority so would be interested in learning more about the scene and other modes not found on SLR's. Any plans to cover this?l
I am so glad to have discovered your tutorials for FZ300. I will be a subscriber soon. How do I subscribe and is there a fee? I am truly a novice in this area of technology.
Hi Graham, I am wanting to know more about how to slow the shutter speed down to capture longer light trails and water motions and any movement. The built in light trail affect only goes for 2 seconds which is not long enough for what I want to capture. Could you point me in the right direction for further reading or video tutorials that you may have? Your step by step guides are pretty good, but I am struggling with understanding this component the most. thank you in advance.
using shutter priority mode you can set the shutter speed up to 60 seconds with the mechanical shutter set, just set the aperture to F4 and the ISo to below 400 and make some test exposures - don't raise the ISO over 800 otherwise noise will become a big issue.. For water effects you may need neutral density filters if you need exposures of about 1/2 second in daylight.
Hi, Thanks for the video. I’m considering buying this camera and I have a question: does it have a miniature effect in video and photo? And is the 4K video cropped more than 25mm? Thanks in advance.
Hi. Just a thought but it's maybe a good idea to list the videos in order within your description on each video upload. If someone comes here and wants to start at part 1 then atleast they'll be able to find the videos easier if linked above.
Thank you for your videos. I bought this camera last month and I have a question for you. Which are the best settings for AF/AE Lock button in creative modes? 1.AE/AF Lock 2. AE Lock (with AF lock on half pressing Shoot button) 3. AF Lock (with AE lock on half pressing Shoot button) 4. Back Focus (AF ON) (with AE lock on half pressing Shoot button) Or what else in your opinion? Thanks
Dear Graham, I do nature and wildlife ( birding ) photography. If I want to to shoot in apperture priority should I set the ISO in Auto or set the min, and max. limit for ISO. I am using MFT - Lumix G 85 camera with 100 - 400 lens. Please advise.
Does ISO actually DO anything? For instance changing the electronics on the sensor. Or is it just changing the math to show the Aperture and Shutter speed numbers.
Hello, I just bought this camera and I don't understand why I can't put the value I want in SS and F, no matter if I am in S or A or M mode... It appears in red and I cannot choose what I want. Do I have something wrong set or my camera has a default ? thank you
I'm Jojo I would like to ask you something I have a Lumix g100 my problem is with the speed of the image per second When I use a godox trigger on my camera the speed refuses to go up and it blocks at 1/50 I would like to know how to do
Hello sir. I have a very judgeable question...do you have a fz 300 to give away to someone Who doesn.t have enough money to buy? I am from România, I live în a monastery and I have the passion of photography but my salary doesn.t afford me to buy this camera which I wish. Can you help me?

Thanks Graham. I just bought this camera and your tutorials have really helped me.

If everyone learns one thing from each video then I'm happy!
Excellent insight to using this camera, as the book that comes with it is VERY limited
Very precise and easy to follow. You're a great teacher.
many thanks.
I'm starting to get a good feel for this camera. Thanks Graham.
Thx Graham, for these videos. Im a newbie , both at photography and with this camera. Learned a lot already.
I'd appreciate knowing whether there is a way to set both aperture and shutter speed manually while allowing ISO to float.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was finally able to achieve the blurred background effect I wanted.
Just ordered the colour copy Graham, if it's anywhere as informative as your on line tuition it will be well worth the money. Thank you very much.
This is the best mode for bokeh effect? Can you make a tutorial for bokeh photos? Thank you for so well done and informative videos.

Good morning Mr. Houghton. Are you still offering the color pdf if I but the B/W paper book?
Sir you made my day, I was sceptical to buy fz300, I got clarity on this.. Is this same settings can be used for video shoot also?
I am so glad to have discovered your tutorials for FZ300. I will be a subscriber soon. How do I subscribe and is there a fee? I am truly a novice in this area of technology.

Thank you for the help!
Will the same setting apply for the MCH2
would these settings be the same for video? Im trying to focus just on my face and blur my background
Does ISO actually DO anything? For instance changing the electronics on the sensor. Or is it just changing the math to show the Aperture and Shutter speed numbers.
i want to ask, if you zoom it to the fullest. do you still have the F2.8?
