This reminds me of my introduction to Jamaican food during my college years in Connecticut. I befriended a Jamaican girl (I’m from Alabama) & her family took me under their wings. I literally ate it day in and day out and love it even now. Yea, maan!👍🏼
In South Africa, we have something similar to the Jamaican festival, but we call it 'vetkoek' which directly translates to fat cake. It's basically deep fried batter like a donut, but it doesn't have any sugar (it's a savoury thing)

In Barbados a favourite dish is black pudding and Souse, most people no longer use the blood of the pig, they use browning to get the dark color. Ours is grated sweet potato, spices, herbs, butter, pepper, mixed together, most people now just steam it on its own. A few may still use the intestines to put the mixture into, or use rice skins or any skins used for making sausages, itS then cooked. Souse is pork meat that is cooked and a pickle is made that is poured over the meat. Made of cucumbers, onions, parsley, peppers, lime and salt, a good balance of lime and salt is what makes a good pickle.
We make black pudding as well in the French Caribbean west indies Guadeloupe and Martinique and we say boudin noir in French and creole.
I think every nation has their own version of Black Pudding. The first one I tasted was Kenyan but it was made using cows blood. I had it before I was told was it was but I wasn't mad. It was really nice.

@@pbrandonj yorkshire pudding is not unlike a cakey- looking pastry, but it is meant for a dinner. On a roast you would have meat of choice, many different vegetables: potatoes, peas, stuffing, etc and maybe a couple of Yorkshire puddings.. and gravy.. All yummy!..

As an American, I agree with this statement... While some kids are well behaved and not spoiled, most are ill mannered and could use structure like this. Most Americans are afraid of their own kids and let them act a mess. It just is what it is.

I quite like Jamaican food it has awesome flavors. Speaking with friends who came here from Kenya, they find English food quite bland and lacking in flavour I have to agree, whilst I will est, I prefer other cuisines.
Cottage pie is better homemade shop ones never nice very tasteless I would say my homemade one i made it good bur yes English is bland tasting but can add your own spices to it to make it better
