THIS is the kind of passion we need for games again.
Yea, this and turtlewow are the only private servers ill ever play. Cause you can't get content like this without playing a private server. If I can get it in the regular game I don't seek out private servers. Since you cant even get a miccyD meal for 15$ now. So money isnt the driving factor for me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. my grandfather passed in december to cancer from vietnam. i feel for your description of him, mine was my idol growing up, and it was so hard after that.

Paying my respects for your grandfather since it hit really close to home. My grandfather had a really bad scare this week with a gallbladder infection, COVID and pneumonia all at once, and we were not sure he was going to make it but he bounced back. I'll always cherish the time I have with him because man, you never know.
I'm lost for words on how to express just how much I need this in my life, my mind is just racing with ideas and plans that will be possible. The dungeons sent me over the top. Time to spend 500+ hours getting 99 wc again.
Dude... I'm sorry to hear about your grandad. It's hard losing someone that had so much to do with how your life turned out. I hope he is in a better place now. I'll be praying for you.

I think it would be a cool random thing to add in the "Hey, everyone, I just tried to do something very silly!" message when non-mods try to use slash commands. I know it's super early for that level of polish just wanted to throw that out there.
Really cool to see y'all having fun with dungeoneering, it worried me at first but the more you talked about and showed it, you turned me into a believer and looks fun af. Condolences for your loss and I wish you peace in remembering who your grandpa was as that has been the only thing that has helped me with the loss I've had over the years.

I wish there were people like you guys with the tech and the ability to recreate my first love -- original EverQuest. Maybe just up to Kunarak. I miss the feels and nostalgia so much. I think it would be fooking awesome in the WoW world. I can just imagine Kelethin... Anyway, this is a very cool project, I can hear your enthusiasm and that is something missing from game making nowadays. Also, very sorry for your loss. Losing family members is something you can't even put into words. My daughter, only 33, died of Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia in 2020. Right as the pandemic hit. I'm still coping. Trying to. And games are what keep me engaged and smiling. Kudos to you guys, your work is beyond stellar!

This is great as a proof of concept. In my opinion, what makes OSRS GREAT is the progression systems involved. Earning new teleports and useful items through diaries, quests, other content is really what drives the game. Strictly just being able to kill stuff and level to 99 in skills isnt enough.
Remember the first time you unlocked new gloves through Recipe for Disaster? HUGE milestones for the account.

I started playing Runescape in 2001 and largely stopped around the time WoW came out (2004, I think?) because the gameplay was just...better. This video HITS DIFFERENT. What a great concept.

I've been in the emulation scene since Vanilla WoW and this is perhaps the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Taverly dungeon is huge and would make a really cool dungeon or raid
Lumby castle is as decently designed as humanly possible. I was admin on one of the biggest Wow private servers, and building something custom with blocks is seriously difficult and time consuming. The great thing about using the wow client is that all the assets and houses are singular objects, so you can easily build half a city in an hour. But building lumby castle probably took 2 whole days. Anyway wish ya'll a lot of succes and i'll gladly test the alfa. It's been a long time since i've seen WoW and i'm looking forward to seeing it in Gielinor.

There's two games I always thought would always be fun to see recreate Runescape in, and it was WoW and Skyrim. I'm glad one of my day dreams in coming true
Oh man this gets me really excited. This is wonderful. You know what I've always wanted in OSRS, but it's never gonna happen... mounts. It would be cool if mounts required agility levels and it was the way to go faster based on agility somehow "1:1" with run speeds and maybe the higher the agility and the mount ridden, the slower the energy drains.

Custom animations and custom models for treasure chests that look like the items in the chest which only have that item on their drop table, after the world and quests and dungeoneering is added so that item drops look 1:1 and so not every item drop has to look like a chest. 16:25

Honestly, I'll give it a shot once it comes out in Alpha/Beta. It's been a while since I've played OSRS and this could be the breath of fresh air + Nostalgia I need! Can't wait to try it out!
This is amazing work! I think it will become very popular across many demographics.
A point to note - I think RuneScape made way too many travel methods and teleports that allow you to get directly anywhere without much effort - it makes the world feel small. Please keep this in mind during development!

It's actually very easy to put Cataclysm models for all characters into the game. Water as well there are patches already made you can make the player download; best way is to have a executable file also that run a batch file or Powershell and just downloads them.

so im not sure specifically what era of runescape yall are trying to replicate, but in case yall somehow didnt already know, in modern OSRS they have implemented a lot of cool changes to magic. one of which being that AIR strike will have the same maximum hit damage as fire strike, if you are able to USE fire strike. just curious if you guys are thinking about making it work that way, or the original way?
I don't expect them to have that in mind but they've already shown that they pay attention to detail on many things in this video so maybe I'm wrong!
This sounds amazing. WoW has been my main game since ~2005 but I've played Runescape on and off with it becoming my obsession as of late. I can't wait to play. EDIT: How are you guys going to handle non multi-combat, I would assume content like this would be multi, but I know wow has no places that are one on one like RS is.

You got the Winged Ravagers (WoW) that could also be used for some Kalphite models then the Classic Boss Wasp WoW model for the Kalphite Queen :)

Everything looks amazing in this mesh up of 2 of my favourite games. I have one thing I'd like to bring up. I noticed during the dungeoneering segment the boss and his minions all ended up on the same tile, is this something that will be worked on to make it easier on targeting? Thank you for the hard work you're putting in to this and I look forward to playing!
