    When a TH-camr is considerate enough to their viewers to edit out the traffic noise you know you've found a channel worth subscribing to! :)

    What a lovely boat - nice to see old boats get a new lease on life . It must have been a relief for Mike to have you Lorna on board to help him with the teething pains amd minor breakdowns . The music selection was lovely amd peaceful. It was a
    Great idea to mute out the traffic noise while close to that main road - it allowed us the viewers to appreciate how beautiful that stretch of canal is .
    Greetings from Canada

    Loved the video and the music. Congrats to Mike for getting a boat, but a 71footer for a first boat. The man has more faith than I do. It was good to see you again.

    Loved the video Lorna. Mike is going to have to learn lots pretty quickly with a narrowboat that length. Perhaps a pair of binoculars might be handy, plus a very large red L plate to wave at approaching vessels. Go for it Mike, have a great life.

    Looks like the start of either a labo(u)r of love, or loath. Either way as a fan of history it’s good to see some living history be restored

    Watching him sorting out his gearing issues reminded me of my nightmare winter season of 2019-2021 with my snow blower
    The major problem was the series of springs inside that helped to engage and disengage the two stage throwing. It kept kept getting stuck off or stuck on either wearing out the drive belt or breaking the control cables.
    But even when it was working the speed selectors was woefully out of whack. I should have two speeds in reverse and several speeds forward but it was mis calibrated so that the only reverse I had was painfully slow and the slowest forward speed I had was at a hard March which meant I was turning my ankles ,bogging down , etc etc.
    This may not sound like a big deal but I have a very long driveway and large turn around that needs clearing and a very narrow space in which to finally dump the snow, so clearing more than three inches of snow from the entire thing often takes over three hours. As messed up as this throw was when it was working I was having to do half in the morning and half at night, and when it was completely broken it was taking me sometimes up to four sessions of shoveling to clear things. One particular bad snow storm had me outside with a shovel from full sunrise until sunset

    Must congratulate Mike on going through with purchasing his new forever home. Hope you weren’t rushing him Lorna, LOL, Recon by this time next year he’ll be teaching us all a thing or two, especially single handing a 71 foot boat. Just a shame about the engine, however at least he will get use to it and its quirks, and at least he has a nice big warm dry space to work on the engine unlike the rest of us, having to crawl into bilges . And another well done for a great video as always Launa

      @marvindebot3264 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the advantage of these old girls, they have propper engine rooms. With the bulk of what would have been the original engine (twice the size of the current one if it even had one) they had to.
