The manual says not to leave the lid down while heating for longer than 10 minutes. Just got one second hand in like new condition, only used a few times and seeing temps waaaay off :( Luckily only paid $125 w/cart.
Extremely helpful... was looking for a video like this Thanks! One question, how did the burn spot in the center develop? I was told the coating doesn't last long. Wonder if adding a layer of oil before each session will help prolong wear?
That's a good question. Over time and use that spot developed. Seems to be a burn or scorch spot of some sort. Also sometimes I wait for the surface to cool down before cleaning, and I wonder if that has anything to do with that spot. I can tell you for sure, that is the hotspot of the grill.
@@CollinsFamilyAdventures Appreciate the reply, what's the average temperatures you cook with on the unit? I'm thinking below 400 degrees with a coat of oil before bringing it to temps could help... simular to Seasoning. A TH-camr name (Some Guy Who Cooks) maded a video called (HOW TO SEASON THE BLACKSTONE E SERIES ELECTRIC GRIDDLE) which was Hilarious, you should check it out!
What about if you keep the kid down while heating it up?
I was thinking the same thing. The lid down should it heat up faster.
