It’s ok to give Rachel the hosting hat for one holiday. You do always claim dibs first! I’m a big sister too, I get it 😂 She seemed so excited to share her new house, and celebrate finally being her most authentic self, with her people. A lot of change is happening very fast for you, and it’s ok to feel ALL of these feelings- every single one-but I very quickly picked up on some resentment (Maybe about letting go of even more control? Happens to me), and possibly a little projection about your anxiety/feelings regarding being there onto your family.. if I were her, I’d be a little hurt by all the little comments made throughout the past couple videos, especially with how many people watch. I don’t mean any disrespect by this, just as a loving point to consider (or not!). I don’t always notice these things, esp. in the midst of tough times, until someone points it out. I genuinely love you & only wish you the best 💗
Same tbh…especially the additional dinner made before even going to hers…it’s my stuff entirely but I’d defo feel like my sister was assuming it would be a disaster- the having a dinner ready to go and leaving early feels rude to me…that’s not to say that was the intention/is true but its how I would feel/did feel watching it ❤

This is definitely a great time to help Flynn overcome his social anxiety because it’s something I wish my parents would have done for me when I was little and maybe now as an adult I wouldn’t still have such a hard time talking with people 🙃
He was just raised in covid especially with tiny babies I think once he starts school he might have more experience but idk of course
My parents always tried to make me overcome it, but honestly? It just made it worse - I dont think it is the sort of thing that you can just overcome, especially if you think about Flynn having been raised during COVID. Colleen and Erik will be doing what they think is best for *their* kids. And to them, that will be making sure Flynn is happy - when theres lots of new people and with him being anxious, he wouldn't have been having a good time
I have social anxiety and was a lot like Flynn. Would only talk to my siblings and my grandma. What honestly helped me was preschool and finding friends that were just like me. I'm still friends with them and we are 21-22, and it really helped with my social anxiety!
@@mollywinchurst2056 exactly, being a growing toddler during covid is extremely hard. Social interaction was key to me as well as therapy, but during covid none of that was there. I pray he can find kids just like him that felt that way too, and will be a bright young boy!

my grandma passed away this october and it’s been weird for our family. but im thankful that we got to spend it together and celebrated the holiday this year in the way that felt good to us, super lowkey, all of us eating in our pajamas, and just immediate family. holidays are really hard for my mom so im glad we all banded together and just made the holiday stress free.

My dad passed away in June. My Little family got even smaller. The holidays are so weird this year. 😕

@@Loreniz453 What? Colleen literally says ''when we got there'' a tired Flynn was overwhelmed by all of the people. Why did you jump to the conclusion that they left as soon as Flynn wanted to leave? If that were true then they would have walked in and then turned right around. Wes was playing with the cousins. There is no reason to assume that Flynn didn't adjust as time went on. Also, it's clear in the video that they were still at Rachel's when Jacob is completing the torching of the brule so unless the Ballingers start with dessert, it would appear that Colleen & fam were there a decent amount of time. Erik and Colleen made the effort to go to Rachel's despite everyone being tired and out of sorts and y'all are making some major assumptions and then posting unfair, judgemental comments. That is NOT okay.
And yet she still took him onstage in some of her tour shows….

Change is so hard. I totally get being in a new place, changing traditions and having young children who needs are changing everyday can be extremely overwhelming and exhausting but I felt for Rachel here. Her life has also changed a ton and instead of being proud of Rachel and understanding she wants to embrace all the great changes and host a holiday at her house it’s we’re going to Rachel’s even though I usually host and there will be way too many people we don’t know and it my kids won’t be happy. Totally understand you have to do what’s best for your kids and if that means limited time or feeding them at home I wholeheartedly support that. I know we saw only a few minutes of a very long day so off camera maybe it there was more appreciation of Rachel hosting but on camera it came off a she stole the holiday and ruined it. Maybe I am projecting as I am one of 4 girls in my family but a simple it was different but Rachel did a great job and hosted an amazing dinner might have been nice to look back on.
Don’t get me wrong as someone who has 3 sisters it makes sense for there to be a little distance when you have young kids and your sisters doesn’t but has group of great friends to go out with and you live a little further away there is bound to be a healthy distance . I have no doubt Colleen loves her sister and supports her I just feel you can express you are sad that you are not hosting a holiday while also be happy and appreciative that your sister is, emotions are not exclusive. As a sister I would just have felt a little disappointed if this was the video of my sister attending my first thanksgiving I hosted but again I understand I was not there and that this Mama is going through a lot. This was just my sister heart coming out.
As the gay friend my self and just a human being, I love how you always include Kory in your family events. Specially when it’s just your immediate family. It makes me so happy to know that he is your family and spends these family focused holidays with you. ❤

If I think she's being excessive I will leave a comment because this is a social media and we can do that. I think that it's another change added on top of everything and that can overwhelm someone with a nerodivergent brain (Colleen has ADHD and has expressed how this makes change a lot harder for her). Please don't take one clip and base a whole narrative around it. Just know that we only see a small bit of her and her family's lives.

Sheltered??? Did you even consider that Flynn and the babies may not be used to crowds of people because they have had to spend a good chunk of their lives in isolation due to the pandemic? I bet that there are a lot of young kids that are taking awhile to get used to being around crowds for the very same reason. I mean, even adults that have actual experience with being around lots of people pre-Covid have had to adjust to being around people again. As for the live shows, you make it sound like the twins & Flynn frequently attend them which is obviously not the case. I'm pretty sure that Colleen even stated in a past vlog that the twins didn't really enjoy being at the the shows....probably because of the overwhelming amount of people.
At first I was glad thinking that Rachel had taken Thanksgiving hosting off Colleen's hands since Colleen has been so stressed with the move and everything. But it seems like Colleen didn't like that very much, especially since the Thanksgiving dinner at Rachel's looked really good!
I give Rachel a lot of credit for wanting to open her home to her friends and family. I’m sure she also enjoys hosting and welcoming family and friends in to her space. Especially since she started dating Abby and creating her own community, she has found comfort in sharing her life in that way. Colleen, I’m wondering if you have a hard time relinquishing control and allowing others to fill a role that you are used to having. The dynamic between you and Rachel has shifted, some may have observed this like I have, and it sucks to see Rachel not appreciated (in an obvious way) by you. 😕

It is weird to start mixing in new people into a family holiday. Maybe they can have a friends Thanksgiving and a smaller family one. I never enjoyed going to my sister's with her new husband family and friends, it was weird.
I really enjoyed watching Chris' vlog and Rachel's vlog of thanksgiving. It looked like an amazing spread and lots of happiness, joy and family. I'm finding it challenging to hear what sounds to me like passive aggressive comments towards it all. I know Colleen loves Rachel and don't agree that we could sense a dynamic shift through small camera clips, but I do wonder what emotions are coming up for Colleen around all of this. I wonder how Colleen would feel if her family felt and spoke like this about coming to her when she was hosting. I get the feeling sometimes that the kid's anxieties are unintentionally encouraged because Colleen enjoys their neediness as its her they are clinging to - it fulfils a need in her. It just all seems a little unhealthy to me, and I find it quite upsetting to watch and hear these kind of things from someone who, in general, I love watching and respect so much. There is something going on there for her that I feel needs attention.

I also really enjoyed Rachel and Chris' vlogs, where it seemed like all the children had a blast (Wesley, Maisey and Flynn included). So weird that Colleen didn't have any footage of that in here. It feels like she needs control over everything (for example what's in the food, and you can't do that when it's at another persons home), and that's why she's not happy with Rachel hosting. Girl, Kory has been to every family gathering for years, I think it's time you back Rachel up a bit and let her have her friends there at an important night for once. Without being such a sour pouch about it. You have had your moment, please let go of the control and let others shine for at bit, it would really suit you, and could take some of the stress off of you.

I am so happy seeing all the holiday joy and all the fun being so much closer to family is!! Also- I have to say my absolute favorite thing is seeing Kory in the vlogs more recently. I mean we all know he's around but like seeing actual footage of him playing with the kids and just laughing and being there makes my heart happy!

But please, PLEASE, think again about saying that they got the x bad trait from you or their father. They are literal babies and have all the time in the world to develop their little personalities. Don't do the mistake of putting them in boxes. This is how you understand the world and try to cope with it, not them. They don't have to be explained or linked to one of you. This will create friction and pain.
Social anxiety and sensitivity are not "bad traits".

@@Hannah-vs1vn Whether something is bad or good depends on how everyone experiences it. In my case, these traits have been bad. Colleen also seems to deem them as such. This is why I wrote it so.
Anyhow - and more accurately - comparisons and connections would best not be done for any traits, bad or good. They limit and affect growing children in numerous ways.

I'm thankful for my kids! I was diagnosed with infertility 7 years ago and told I would need medical intervention to ever have children. I am now pregnant with baby #3 (pregnancy number 4 due to an early loss in first pregnancy) with no medical intervention. Just natural healthy pregnancies. And I couldn't be more thankful and blessed!
im beyond grateful this year i was able to get pregnant after almost 6 years of trying. im almost 25 weeks with a healthy little boy and i couldnt be more thankful for that and his wonderful daddy whos been my rock for nearly 7 years now

What is wrong with you? You decided ahead of time that your kids wouldn’t be happy at Rachel’s so you needed to make your own Thanksgiving dinner? You said that in yesterdays video and then again today so you obviously thought this out.
Mentioning how you’re not hosting as much as you did makes you seem bitter about it. And why decide that tomorrow your kids are going to have “stranger danger” and therefore they’ll probably not want to eat much so you’ll need to cook your own meal?
Do you think the twins licking food off your dirty fingers was a better experience than being at Rachel’s? On Flynn’s plate he has chocolate pudding and yogurt! You cook a full meal just so your kids could take a few bites of it when they could have done the same at Rachel’s house or you could have taken home some food for them.
If you wanted them to have the full thanksgiving experience and see what it’s all about they were getting that at Rachel’s house. It’s not just about the food. It’s about being with family and loved ones and having a good time. Rachel and Abby created such a warm and welcoming environment and from all the footage we saw in your siblings videos your kids were just fine. They weren’t clinging to you and making it so you could never put them down like you decided was going to happen. The twins were content and Flynn was running around and playing games. Except for the time he snatched stuff away from Luke aggressively right in front of you and you did nothing about it.
Don’t use your kids as an excuse when you don’t want to do something.

I think being sequestered during covid may have assisted Flynn with his "social anxiety." He's been around a lot of people before, or at least a house full of family and didn't seem to mind. I miss all the vlogs with the entire Ballinger family together.

I think it was Rachel’s friends unlike at the babies party which was people they knew bc it’s obvi their bday
I think, logically, that their birthday party was at their own home and the babies are obviously more comfortable in their own environment. Also at their party they were mostly being held by Colleen and Eric. Nevermind that we saw like 10 minutes of the entire thing so we can't say how they felt the entire time
On the birthday party video they say that they were stressed about having so many people over for the party. And once the party was over Colleen literally said her children were overstimulated and fuzzy so she put them down for a nap. It makes a lot of sense to me that she is stressed about taking her small children to an environment they are not used to for something as big and meaningful as thanksgiving

I love the bond that flynn, wesley and Maisy have. It will only get stronger as they grow. You and Eric are doing an amazing job as parent's.
Colleen, we did baby led weaning with my youngest and if you want them to stop destroying clothes, I highly recommend getting the long sleeved bibs! You can find off brands on Amazon that run a little bigger, but something like the Bumpkin brand. I also purchase a couple of $5 long sleeved art smocks from IKEA as he got older that worked a lot better when he outgrew the others! It’s saves a lot of laundry and prevents the ruining of so many outfits.

I think it’s pretty telling that Colleen didn’t really say anything about Abbie & Rachel hosting - the fact that she had a dinner already started showed that she never intended to stay long anyway- in the other two vlogs, all three kids seem fine throughout the footage shown. This seemed to be more about Colleen not hosting a get together herself than anything else 😭
she has some major control issues, especially projecting her and her husbands negative traits on the babies and saying "they're just like me"
Agreed. She had no interest in being at Rachel's Thanksgiving, as evidenced by the fact that she was already preparing a full spread for them to eat when they got home. She's ridiculous.

@@Sarahr98998 exactly if it was a spontaneous “we can’t stay the kids aren’t happy” kind of thing, you’d be taking leftovers home. Not going back to an already prepared meal. Rachel went to all that effort, they should’ve taken some food with them and included it in their dinner at least
Are usually always start off with. I am thankful for the farmers, who worked very hard to put this food on the table and then someone prays. Usually I love me to get onto eating and then, as were eating at the table we go around thanking what we are most appreciated about each other and stuff.
hello asking other viewers about this but isnt it a bit too much how kory is always with them. they are their own family, and him joining colleen and eric, threes a crowd when ure in a relationship. i wonder if eric sometimes finds it a nuisance sometimes which is justified. imagine if roles were reversed and he brought his girl bestfriend over. idk it always rubs me the wrong way even if kory is sweet and close to the fam. its just that sometimes there needs to be boundaries.
Happy Thanksgiving! Just wanted to say, you know you can still vlog but not put it up for the whole world to see. Keep these things private for you since you said one of the main reasons for moving was bc you were scared…people showing up to your home…etc…you put your life, your kids life, family out for millions to watch and see and figure out where you are. Please take your own advice and maybe keep your kids off the internet for their safety. People will still watch you, but this problem will never go away, only get worse😞 I just don’t think it’s worth your family’s safety to make money from YT which clearly doesn’t have safety for kids in mind. It was just a thought that came to mind when you said you were so happy you vlogged for your memories…I have mine on vhs tapes lol, but they’re still there, just not for the world to see😊
She doesn't care , any mom who knowingly does these with the amount of pedos online . She could careless cause the kids make her more money.
I would encouraged you to look into hiring a organizer for the new house. They will do your bookshelves and kitchen and closet. Organize the kids rooms etc. You could probably get one to agree to to a vlog with you. Look into it. What you have shown of the house it looks like it will be really nice. I hope you have a kids space where they can have a play room.

My kids are 19 and 22 now but when there were little I didn’t stress over if they ate at the families house or tried the traditional things . I would fix them a plate to take home to have later .
Small tip try allow the baby’s to lean in to take a bite of food and not just stick in there mouth . Mashed potatoes sometimes gets stuck on the roof of mouth so give a moment before the next food . Your not doing anything wrong you just want to give them the option and to avoid choking . There was incident we’re my mom kept forcing food and caused choking to my little cousins .It was a scary moment and she never did that again . She didn’t realize my cousin still had food in her mouth when she stuck more food in her mouth .

@@americaneagle403 yeah I'm thinking it was more of a in the moment mental health Thanksgiving dinner than a time management/prioritizing sleep kinda one that might help the long term mental health more.
Yeah I mean, the whole point of these big family gatherings is to cut the kids loose and let the cousins learn to get along with each other, and give the adults time to socialize with each other and share the work of putting together a meal. She PLANNED on not staying and pretty much made sure her kids didn't relax and learn to trust themselves and have a nice time. And for what? To have to make a whole new dinner? It's kinda nuts
And if you look at Flynn’s plate he doesn’t even have the thanksgiving dinner on his plate. He’s eating chocolate pudding and yoghurt. So she did all this just so the babies could lick some mashed potatoes off her dirty fingers? This was all about her not getting to host thanksgiving and being dramatic about it.

why take the kids home and make a whole new dinner when they seem happy and okay in the other vids from the family? and she obviously planned to leave early if she already had everything for the thanksgiving dinner ready to go at home? also all the kids were always fine at their birthday parties, your birthday, etc. i just don’t understand the problem with rachel hosting one thing especially for the first time, and especially as it would have been impossible for colleen to host with the move anyways, she would have been stressed out of her mind

What's the issue with her leaving early. She said her babies are scared of strangers and it's hard for them to enjoy their surroundings when people they don't know are around but she still wanted her babies to see the family. So she made food for them experience comfortably at home .All of the examples that you listed they were around people that they knew so of course they seem happy and you have no idea if they were happy the whole time from a 20 minute video. Collen is just doing what she knows is best for her babies
@@bunnie_crossing the issue is her attitude, all the little comments, not showing any of rachel’s hard work in the video or being grateful about it at all, already planning everything out, exactly how the event is gonna go and how her kids are going to react, it’s not just about her taking care of her babies, she was pissed that she couldn’t host and wouldn’t let her kids enjoy it.
Colleen I’m so glad you were able to have your first holiday meal in your new house. I hope this helped you cope with the move and the negative memories from last Thanksgiving. I’m proud of you for doing what you needed for your family. If a couple minutes together to end the night is what you needed, then I’m so glad you got that.
Going anywhere with 3 kids is so stressful. Add in missing naps, lack of routine, and not having all of the things needed for TWO babies. The fact that you made it out of the house in the middle of moving is amazing. Here’s to the first of many new happy memories in your new home.
Based on Rachel’s vlog, she did a great job at hosting the thanksgiving dinner this year. She was very considerate of the kids and set up many stations for the kids to play at. At no point in the vlog did it look like the kids were not having a fun time or feelings anxious around others. Flynn was even playing a game with one of Rachel’s friends???? So I agree with the other comments that say it just looks like Colleen was projecting her emotion onto the children or probably didn’t like the idea that she wasn’t the one hosting the dinner this year. Colleen did not even look like she was enjoying the dinner. Even a little disappointed that the dinner was going so well. So Colleen coming back home to host her own little thanksgiving with the children was a little shady…
we saw like 4 minutes of the entire night, we don’t know how upset the babies might have gotten… you’re making a lot of assumptions

I am also thankful for my husband and son and to be able to see family this year. The past two years we spent thanksgiving with our little family of three. That was nice too, and our new thanksgiving tradition came from it, Greek food instead of traditional food. Sorry but the only think I like is the pumpkin pie (we kept that).
