@@FinerBub LOVE THE VIDEO! Sorry, that'd be W-SW* of Killington, just take US-4 all the way to Rutland, VT for about a 30 min drive. At the end/intersection - you're right in the middle of town. No specific recommendations but I just wanted to say that there are many full-sized supermarkets there for those staying in condos & cooking for themselves. Worth a 1-time trip to stock up. Also pharmacies like CVS where I got a knee brace, as the ski shops @ Killington were out. I can recommend Truly Unique Gift Shop @ 1114 US-4, Rutland, VT 05701 - for a nice one-of-a-kind gift for the ladies - if you're in a last minute bind.
Thank you. Awesome review. Your dry sense of humor is hilarious. I like when you said "Killington left an imprint on you"! Feel the exact same way.. place is magical early in the morning 🌄
Congratulations on a great video. All the info is good. It gave me a warm feeling now that we cannot go. May I add that the ambassadors you mentioned give FREE tours every day at 10 and 11. Meet at Snowshed between the buildings.
Blue Mountain in PA blows snow in their glades. It's funny as hell when the trees start accumulating snow sideways from the constant impact. It's pretty great actually because even if no natural snow falls we at least have that open usually by mid january. Great videos dude keep up the good work!
Great review! This is one of my favorite mountains, it’s so sick. If I have to give one more tip this would be it. If you are a dancer skier and you see that Devils Fiddle is open, please please please consider yourself lucky and do it. There has been countless seasons where this run never even opened at all because of conditions
Very good video. I like your perspective on how to approach a specific mtn. If you like glades, I would recommend Jay Peak, Sugarloaf, and Saddleback. Sugarloaf offers cat skiing now in their Bracket Basin terrain, its an incredible area. You need to be advanced or better to ski it.
Thanks, man! Really appreciate the kind words and the mountain recommendations. I love jay peak but I guess I’ll have to check out the other two, especially Bracket Basin, that sounds amazing! Thanks again for leaving such a great comment, I really appreciate the contribution
Word I love sugarbush! Thanks for the recommendation! Next time I’m up there I’ll have to check it out. Funny you mentioned it, I was there the day before it closed just over a month ago... Such a bummer that the season had to end early. Thanks for commenting!
@@FinerBub American Flatbread was only open on the weekends, limited seating. Might be best to call in advance. It was many years ago when I was there.
I found you through suggested videos recently. First off, great work! I recently started working on my own TH-cam channel, so I’ve definitely been doing my research, these videos are very informative! Please keep it up, I just subscribed & am look forward to seeing what else you put out! Thanks again!
I'm planning on spending the week before Xmas there this year. I've seen a bunch of videos, but yours was the most useful. My wife is a green circle skier, and I figured going to Skye peak to Great Eastern was going to be a thing with her, but I never noticed Bear Cub. I usually ski with her in the mornings and then hit the blacks in the afternoons. Looking forward to it. BTW, the Google Earth 3D part clears things up compared to the flat maps.
Thank you for the video. It's a great one with very usefull information. I'm planning to go to Killington in February or March for maybe 3 days. Your tips were very usefull. I like the fact that you talked about those long cruisers because that except for those diamond slopes, long tracks thaat burn my legs is whaat I am looking for and that I can't find in much of the East ski resorts. If you would have the same kind of reviews on Sugarloaf, Sugarbush and Whiteface, I would be very interested to look at them also.
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful. You’re gonna have an amazing time! I have some footage from Stowe and Sugarbush that I’m working on for next season’s videos but if you’re into East coast skiing options, check out my videos on Mount Snow and Stratton. I think I made a playlist called ‘Skiing Videos’ on my channel page
Killington Mountain Lodge, about a mile from Snowshed, with their own shuttles, is wonderful! I don't work for them or get remunerated in any way for letting you all in on this trick-of-the-trade for skiing the beast.
@@FinerBub The price nearly doubled from the special price I used to get. The manager ghosted my e-mails, calls, and attempts to see him. He previously went "above and beyond' to be very helpful to me. Service was extremely poor, but that can be somewhat excused by covid.
@@FinerBub Makes me sad to say, almost anyplace but Killington. K was the first place I ever skied back in 1969 and almost the only place for twenty years after that, but that big corporate feel and the way they destroyed the mountain around Bear has been a complete turn off for me. Luckily for me I brought my son up to be a mountain person and now he lives out west so ,as a retiree, I do most of my skiing in the west now. But, to answer your question, Jay, and Sugarbush in Vermont, Sugarloaf in Maine, and Whiteface NY. Heck, I'd rather ski at Cannon than Killington. At least there you don't have to look at condos around every corner. I still go to K early and late season, it's good for that. It is big, but all I have ever really enjoyed are Bear, and the Canyon anyway. Sometimes, I guess, bigger is not better.
I appreciate your input. It’s buckthorn everyday that I get a comment with this much personal experience. I think sugarbush and jay are great as well but when it comes to the masses I definitely think that killington the best place for them to go.
@@FinerBub Beginners and intermediates can have a better time at less crowded, smaller mountains. Things may be different now, it's been a few years since I have been to these, but Bretton Woods, Smuggs, Waterville. Loon, are all a little tame for experts but great for less experienced skiers who don't want to put up with the crowds and all the BS that has become the norm at Killington.
there are supermarkets and good shops in Rutland, VT - 30 min drive to next town over W-NW of the beast
Any specific recommendations?

I'm going to killington Feb 2023 with school and I'm stoked as it will be the first time I have been skiing outside of the alps.
Awesome! Killington is great but I’ve always wanted to ski in the alps!

For sure
