used to call my similar mattress the “dead body” whenever I had to move it anywhere 😳 My advice (albeit very late) is to get yourself a REALLY good mattress protector, including something that protects the mattress from any sort of spills, leaks or just anything liquid. Moisture protection is also necessary for the underside of your natural mattress especially where condensation and the potential for mould exists. I’m only stressing this because once your mattress gets wet, it takes a VERY long time to dry out, and depending upon the material used inside the mattress, it can.... how do I put this, it can smell like a wet dog...for days until it dries out. I’ve made every single mistake mentioned above. I had to learn the hard way ... hopefully so that you won’t have to ❤
You both need a little drawer under the bed with a top on it. So you can use it as a step up. I have seen it before in a TH-cam video about a tiny home
Looks more comfy than my double mattress, other boaters are such lovely people, I have noticed other narrowboat channels everyone helps one another hard to find these days.
landscaping material is affordable for your windows good temporary solution ....... hot iron seels fould over edges can be found at pound shops ......... looks good and inexpensive .........S
Mohair comes from angora goats. It's very warm. Not to confuse with angora wool that comes from angora rabbits! Glad you've put it on slates as it will need to breath! Did laugh at the eggs! Ouch at about $1 each here that's a catastrophe.
You two do make me laugh. You just put salt over the egg and it solidifies and you will be able to pick it up. But you both seem to be having loads of fun while you work and we get to watch all the laughter and oops moments.
Well done and the bed does look very comfortable and roomy. I did notice that the frame seems to be moving a bit when you got up on it. I would suggest stiffening it up even more because the last thing you will want is that frame collapsing at the worst possible moment. When you think you've made it strong enough, add a couple more supports / corner gussets just to be sure.
Hey Rod, yeh I think I'm going to brace it up a little more just to stop any movement. But trickier now the mattress is in place but agree that it's better to be safe than sorry! We'll have to be careful up there until I get round to it 😂
So nice you got to to spend the night aboard 👍 must have given you a sense of achievement. Well done getting the induction hob into the cupboard. I was wondering if it would need any insulation to stop the heat damaging the wood? Thanks for the catch up, have a great week
Thanks Paul! It does feel great to finally be back onboard, especially now it's springtime too 🙂 the hob does get a little warm underneath so I'm thinking I'll run fireboarding to protect the draw below!
I've not got past the intro yet and all I can see is graphic Aussie holiday road traffic accident (TAC) advert being viewed. Looking forward to seeing the vlog though 😅
Your kettle looks like its bottom is crimped on like a tin lid. Induction hobs REALLY want a smooth contact surface between the glass and the cookware being used. You posted this a month ago so hopefully you’ve found out, and found a way to deal with this, but if A) I’m right about the kettle and B) it’s working ENOUGH, just know that you’re losing a LOT of efficiency inducting across that small rim. I’m about to go re-watch that section and I’ll follow up if I was wrong. :)
Hey! Ha nicely noticed 😅 they're our old kettles from our previous boat and don't work on the induction at all. We've been heating the water in a pan instead... A new kettle is on the cards when we get back onboard after Arti's visit to the boat shed!
Certainly not boring, youve both chosen your own paths, and fulfilled your dreams, whether on boat, van or wherever. Thats a gift. 😊

I hope it’s good as you should never fold a mattress
salt cleans up broken eggs or kitty litter have used both
Great tip, thank you 😊
Congratulations on your new bed!

Oh that's great to know, thank you ☺️ it's mohair and coir and very comfy! Should be good in the winter if it's a good insulator
Rather you than me i hate eggs, great job on the mattress and induction hob xx
They get everywhere when they break on the floor! Thank you Vicky 😊

Glad you enjoyed your first night on your boat guys, don't worry about the eggs though as eggcidents will happen
😅
Yay! I guessed right! The organic part threw me off just a little 😂
Haha good guess! The organic part was an extra layer of deception 😂

Well it’s moving along- there’s bound to be a few setbacks but I’m sure it’ll all be fine in the end. You’re both such clever clogs!!!!🤗xx
You two are so funny, and great entertainment. Keep at it, can not wait to see the boat finished.
Thank you Ian! It's getting there 🙂
It's only going to be time before someone makes a van which can float, then you've got all TH-cam bases covered.
YES! I think they exist don't they... Those cars you can drive into water... That's what we need!
Really enjoyed your vlog.love your new bed and mattress. You are definitely getting there with your narrowboat.Have a lovely week.😊
Thank you Sally! Really enjoying being back on board full time 🙂
Eggsactly. That’s no yoke ! Sorry just had to. Coming a long in leaps and bounds. Loving the hob ! Best wishes

@@thistinylife wasn’t sure as I’ve not had an induction job 👍

Sorry DJ you were so much better and professional on your own. I do not blame anyone for poor reactions to you when you arrive mob handed.
