    Excellent packable dingy, how strong is it and how much did it cost? Do you think you could fish from and spend a few hours in it? Have a great Sunday, see you later. James

      It's a fantastic packraft James. Extremely tough. They use the exact same methods and materials for construction as they would for the packrafts that can handle whitewater rapids. So very tough indeed.
      The model I've got is quite large. You could definitely fish from it or transport a mountain bike on the bow or even take a dog along for the ride.
      They aren't cheap, especially if you go with the big brand companies. You'll easily pay over a grand for one of those. Mine came in under six hundred, delivered. It's a lot of money to me but the years of pleasure I'll receive from it and the new adventures that it'll provide, are priceless to me.
      Hope that answers your questions James. Anything else, please either drop me another comment or send me an email. Would be happy to help, if it's something your interested in.
      Enjoy the rest of your day and hopefully, I'll catch you again soon. Atb, J 👍.

      Brilliant J,
      May i ask if the midlands are at war 🤣
      Adventure is Made is a pack rafter and a really nice fella. He makes some cracking TH-cam vids so that's who I'd recommend if you want advice.
      As for 2021
      I think the lake district and the peak district are going to take a hammering next year as well as the usual wild camping.
      Merry Christmas J

    Another good bit of kit for your toolbox. You sure that that harness is a Buoyancy Vest and not a reserve Parachute. 😉 I hadn't realised the Trent was so wide and it was running fast too. The lock gate name and number allowed me to find it on Google Maps, what an expanse of water in the area. Small World as I have an Uncle that lives in Burton on Trent. What Bergen are you carrying, the shoulder straps looked well padded. Regarding 2021, my aim is just to see it in and hopefully see it out. I don't plan any further ahead than the next day at the moment as every time I set a plan, something comes and bites me in the arse - just better to be ready to go at a moments notice and take any opportunity that arises. Have yourselves a very Merry Christmas. ATVB Robert.

      @SandybackOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert, many thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Appreciated, as always 👍. There's quite an extensive network of waterways close to where I live, so plenty more for me to explore with the raft. The bergan is the Karrimor SF sabre 75, a good bit of kit in my opinion. It's really comfortable, versatile and durable. I hope that you all have a fantastic Christmas and I'll look forward to seeing you out again soon. Take care and stay safe. Atvb, J 👍.

      The packraft is a great bit of kit Moose. Surprisingly lightweight, compact and considerably robust. Opens up so many more opportunities to enjoy. No point in practicing without the gear that I intend to carry, as I'm not going to know how the raft sits and handles in the water with that kind of weight. Many thanks for all of your comments Moose. It means so much coming from a guy like yourself buddy. Take care. Atvb, J 👍.

    Did you get the skeg? I'd recommend you get one of you didn't. Helps a lot in the wind.
    Also, when securing your pack you should think about what happens if you flip the raft. It's almost impossible to flip the raft back if the pack remains attached. What I do is fasten the pack with something I can release quickly. I also then tie the pack to the raft with a longer leash. The theory being if you do flip, you can release the pack, flip the raft back, climb in then recover your pack using the leash. Always worth having a knife at hand too in case you need to cut the pack free. Very unlikely you'd flip where you where but you never know,.
    Scotland is the best place I've found for multi-day hike/raft trips. Have fun.

    • @SandybackOutdoors
      @SandybackOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Steve. Great comment and great tips too. Haven't got the skeg but have considered it, as I've read that it does help a lot when lake paddling.
      I have flipped it with the pack like this. The leash is secured using an open figure 9 nite ize and releases very quickly and the pack is left to rotate on a locking carabiner attached to it's grab handle and my bowline. The system worked well and so did the drybags, lol.
      Scotland definitely looks favourite but I'm also considering some smaller trips in Snowdonia.
      Many thanks again for the comment. Any further advice would be extremely appreciated, either by comment or email.
      Take care, Atb J 👍.

    Filling that thing up seems like an enormous pain. However, it also seems lightweight and despite its size it also seems nice and stable. I admit, I'm interested in seeing more of this and maybe even finding one.

    • @SandybackOutdoors
      @SandybackOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Russ and many thanks for watching. You can buy small battery operated pumps to inflate the rafts, which takes less than a minute to do. The packrafts are a great bit of kit and really good fun too. You won't regret it, if you get one. Take care. Atb, J 👍.

      Hi Edward, I've never seen anyone paddle a packraft kyak style from the front. I'm sure your friend has his reasons for doing it like that though 🤔. Also I looked into the subtitle settings and I believe that the viewer can adjust them into the language of their choice in their own settings. I hope that helps 👍.
