It's great there's still companies making hard games! I jumped in and didn't watch the videos beforehand. The emergent story telling is fun. My first run was lost to a pack of three direwolves. My next, to foolishly attacking a barbarian camp. I just bought the game in the steam spring sale. It's a lot of fun!
This is reflected through the % effectiveness armor stat, this is why hammers/maces have more than 100% effectiveness as they do more damage against an armoured opponent
@@ulysseslenka4739 Well to be pedantic blunt weapons don't "pierce" armor at all but they are historically effective because they transmit a lot of impact energy into the person underneath.
@@ulysseslenka4739 Hammers are blunt lol. They work because a big heavy object slamming against your stiff metal armor is disruptive without having to penetrate it. Longbow arrows can pierce it but not much else.

The 2h hammers from battle brother is pure fantasy. There were never or at least nearly never used weapons such like this.
You shpuld mention that a char with 0 HP has the chance to be still alive but getting a permanet injury. New players like me see this as a bug instead ;) (Sidenote: Ihr seid aus Deutschland und bringt das Spiel wirklich nicht in eurer Heimatsprache raus? Echt schade :(

I thought blunt weapons had pretty good direct damage(hammer, mace) and piercing/cutting weapons had the lower damage through armor?

Wait, armor is effective against bludgeon weapons? Was I hearing this correctly? Should it be the opposite?
Weapons such as flails or mace were very only effective if you stroke the head. But hammers and such were designed to pierce armor and hit the flesh.
